Not Buying This Car is Stupid Alex: I worked one summer during college. Bought a 2001 4Runner with 125k miles for 4, 500 as my beater. Timing belt was done at 95k. At 150k miles now I havent had one issue. Only oil changes. I drive it 250 miles each way to Vermont to ski. I trust it more than most new cars. Insurance is nothing. I have my nice car for the weekends and this thing for any other day, to haul tons of items, sports, dirt bikes. It was the best purchase Ive ever made

I am normally a fan of these older, 1998 to 2002 Toyota 4Runner's. My uncle used to own a 2001 Acura MDX and it was a great SUV. It was just trying to fall apart. He had a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT coupe prior to that and it had a lot of problems. It was just terrible luck which the Grand Am, because it had the 3400 V6 engine - the 2000 extended-wheelbase and 2003 regular-wheelbase Pontiac Montana's, which we had before were more reliable than the Grand Am. I just need to get something reliable to get myself from point A to point B. For example, like a 2008 Subaru Outback 2. 5i Touring wagon, because it is more newer and it is a lot more reliable, than the 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback, that I suggested last night.

SCOTTY, I've owned an S class Benz, 3 BMW'S, 5 rotary Mazdas, numerous Fords, Chevy and Dodge V8 pony cars, 3 Fiats, 2 air cooled VW's, 2 Porsches, a Corolla, a Scion Xb, a Tacoma. The best cars are Toyotas. Anyone who says they aren't are FULL OF STAnd the best of all. My beloved 2007 4runner At 108k miles, it runs beautifully, and has only been back to the dealer once for warranty work. The windshield WASHER MOTOR died from plugged up dirt No surprise here

I had a 95 saturn SL1 that we bought new and traded in with over 170k on it. Really no issues with the car until about 120k when it started using a lot of oil but never smoked or dripped. Hated the car even though it was super reliable - noisy, unbelievable bad turning radius, gutless even with the 5 speed manual. Worst thing was the plastic body built up a ton of static and shocked the crap out of me every time you went to get in/out.

Scotty should do a video on the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide. If it gets in your cooling system it can cause corrosion. It can dull the paint and cause rust. If it gets on your tires, you could lose control of your vehicle. And don't get me started on what it does to the human body. Did you know millions of people have to be hospitalize because of Dihydrogen Monoxide? It is the leading cause of dehydration.

I just inherited my late Mother's car. It's a 2005 Ford Five Hundred that my late Dad bought new for her. It only has 18, 000 original miles and was serviced as required. It would not have been my first choice but I will drive it until the wheels fall off. What should I be looking for in repairs for a 15 yr old car? Also, my Dad insisted only High Test/Premium gas be used. is that really necessary?

Hey Scotty I bought a 2007 SAAB 9-3 with only 30, 000 miles as my first car. It was driven by an old lady and seems to have been well maintained. Will it be a dependable car as a first car? (if u can answer that in the next video that will be awesome) Also, any suggestions regarding what to do (maintenance wise) right after buying a used car?

Bought a '96 4runner new in '96 and I'm still driving it today. Just recently had to change out ball joints and tie rod ends which is the first time I have had to repairs on it in the 23 yrs I have owned it. The paint is now going bad from 23 yrs of hot Texas sun, so I'll be painting it and recovering the interior rather than get a newer car.
