Phil I don't comment on videos often, but from the small amount of research I've done it seems like for those of us afraid of needles a flu vaccine is just inhumane. it is impossible to inoculate against every strain of flu as there are over a thousand strains of it. The flu virus they give out every year contains 3 to 6 strains of virus and the inoculation rate for the virus introduced is not proven to be 100%. More or less this becomes, hey come pay me to stick you with a needle, which in having you come to a place where a large portion of a local population is going to merely increases your chances for the flu of a strain they did not try to inoculate against that year. Large one off diseases like polio, tetanus and the like are definitely useful for herd immunity, but with a disease like the flu it's impossible to achieve herd immunity. I can agree that it's useful in more exposed groups like children or elderly who have higher chances of getting sick, but more often than not it looks like it's pointless. Edit: also still waiting for the 15/hr to come into effect, it starts November 1st, found out from the news before I found out from my boss. As for the working conditions, we're changing our processes across the board. Not everyone is happy with it, and many weren't happy with it before which caused turnover to shoot up. Only about 1/10 of us have stayed by my estimate (don't quote this, I'm not a manager)

those two workers aren't monster. they didn't want to call the cops on the guy. but he probably was taking advantage of their establishment. they could have even just been playing a joke on him. if they were nice in the past it leads to making you think they might not have been completely serious when they did this and putting it online puts it under every light light imaginable so the worst is going to be highlighted even though it's not always the truth in the entire matter. now the guy is rightfully taking advantage of this. all of a sudden he has a chance at a better life by just leaning into it. I would do it in his situation and it's not exactly the worst thing in the world to do in that position in life. a vast majority of us have never been to that point and we don't know what decisions we would make in those circumstances. I don't see it as the workers bullying the homeless. they didn't want to call the cops because they didn't want to get this person involved in legal matters that would just add to his situation. and also he might smell. if he's homeless it's safe to say. and it can be very off putting in an establishment that is designed to not make you want to puke. what they did wasn't right but without full context it's impossible to even try to pass judgement

If you are here illegally. Just what amount of stolen unconstitutional money from US citizens are you, by some special right, entitled to? Just because you cross the border, legally or illegally, US citizens should never be forced to give you their money. For many decades the US federal government has been operating outside it's strictly limited role as defined in the Constitution. Labor has allowed the government to create many illegal programs wherein private-sector workers are made victims by being forced to support people who are in no way morally or ethically entitked to the labors of others. If you want to encourage more irresponsible acts, one need only subsidize itTaking money from responsible people and giving it to those who act in an irresponsible or illegal manner is a subsidy. To think that rewarding people for being irresponsible is going to reduce the number of irresponsible people you have to be crazy. But most of those crazy people seem to be communist Democrats who know exactly what they are doing but labeling it healthy rather than destabilizing. They need to be thrown out on their heads

To say that the kids being in Texas in the desert is wrong means that a person really doesnt understand children. These kids just went through the trauma of coming across the border. Its not easy. They're from Mexico. Its hot and a desert there. So you take these kids through one trauma of coming across the border and then move them north to cooler temperature? Lets just keep adding trauma and things they dont understand to the pile. Thats a US American's thinking. Lets give them everything we have eventhough they've never had it. That would be a huge shock to their system. Every one that thinks they're helping people just wants to give people what we have in the US. Some people arent used to the US pampered life style so its a little bit of a shock to them. You cant just give them everything they've never had.

I was around 10 years ago and remember the whole debate over increasing the federal minimum wage to 7. 25/hr. IIRC it was the largest single increase that had ever been made (a 0. 20 increase. Additionally, there were a lot of minimum wage workers who apparently opposed the change because increasing their wages would put them above the income cap for affordable housing/food/other programs and many of them were told that there employers would have to cut back hours or let people go because they couldn't afford the increase. I was young at the time and so I couldn't actually research any of these claims myself, but it will be interesting to see if they are all brought up again. With the current political environment I'm sure they'll receive a lot more scrutiny than last time.

Where there goes all the buying power it took me 15 years of work to achieve. Minimum wage jobs were meant for beginning workers who were just entering the work force. The problem is people are relying on these jobs for sustenance over the long term. They economy is stagnant and there is not motivation to provide growth jobs. The manufacturing jobs have taken off overseas and people with these types of companies just don't give a crap about this country in the long run. And yes, we should provide long term financial support of people who enter this country illegally. If you pass laws that you don't enforce, then the money should come from the federal government salaries instead of the taxpayers. Just so done with it all.

Pete is using this relationship to gain attention and get more famous. What sucks is the hypocrisy though. What's unfair is women generally always marry up. You can be broke as hell and still bag a well off dude. Hell you can have the personality and intelligence of a rock and still marry up provided you look decent. You just don't see the reverse happening. But whenever a dude punches up he gets crap for it. That said she does have a questionable taste in dudes. He looks like a cross between a rat and a racoon. Her ex wasn't anything special either. Maybe she's a size queen?

Come on Amazon. You were right at first by using Capitalism and free choice to decide to raise your pay. Then you failed hard by going for the federal wage. Small. Businesses. Cannot. Afford. A high. Minimum. Wage. And small businesses cannot compete with other companies who pay their workers more. So if you allow small businesses to pay their workers less than the federal minimum wage of 15/hr, because no one will want to work for them. Therefore family businesses will FAIL. Then less people will want to run their own businesses.

Can I ask a thing, as an ignorant Norwegian? Why do you have flu-shots in America? For explanation toz my question: Over here we don't have them(at least not as a norm, we just get the flu, stay home, let our bodies deal with it, and then go back to work/school. Granted, we go to the doc's office for verified leave from work/school, and to get help if it's taking a toll on you, like antibiotics and stuff, but usually I just let warm drinks and sleep fix me up.
