Why R Kelly was enabled for so long: all the things that people claim are not real issues and made up by feminists and social justice warriors. Those things are misogyny, racism, neo-liberalism and greed. These were very young, black women, and some older women who had past histories within abusive relationships. They were groomed by a master manipulator who knew how to take advantage of their issues. As long as R Kelly made money for his friends and his fellow performers and the industry, he was protected. Because in a neo-liberal world, people's worth is defined by how much money they make. A successful person couldn't be a BAD person, right? There's a notion that success and talent somehow cannot coexist with evil. We know intuitively this is not true and yet, see amoral men rise, get awards and run companies and yes, even become presidents. The final issue is one of race and the fact that the (white) powers-that-be don't prioritize issues that seem to be staying within the black community. This is a black man harming black women. Oh well. I hate to be crass but it's disgusting and shameful.

Dunno why are you asking us how did Kelly got away with it for so long, I mean Chance said it himself, black communities have this weird dumb tendency to construct massive barriers to protect black celebrities because they are completely paranoid that the system is out to smear and get them, even when the evidence is blatant and the accusers themselves are black. This is why its significantly harder to bring them down. If Eminem was found with CP back in 2002 his career would have ended right there but since black culture was there to defend R Kelly and his fans were already predisposed to not trust authorities, everyone who had the power to put a dent into his career chose to believe he was set up and nothing happened.

Honestly what makes me so frustrated is that Michael Jackson, who had no sustainable evidence against him, and who suffered so much mentally from the allegations that it drove him to over-medicate himself to death. And we have R Kelly, someone who seemingly had all the evidence we as a society could want to rightfully demonize a person abusing their power. Yet, because his victims were young, black women, people on the jury didnt believe those women and his fans from his community continued to back him. It really testifies to how disgusting our society is in its plurality of judgement.

whether that 4000 figure fact was 100% accurate or not is irrelevant to me, even if their all coming from Airport 4000 potential terrorist coming from airports is also an issue. Doesn't change the fact that the border wall is still the best solution to a myriad of other issues. Another problem is now we are having to take this Chris Wallace man's word for it, which is about as useless as not having him at all. It's still just hearsay at the end of the day, won't convince anyone other than people who already agree, hearsay is about as worthless as something can get.

if it was a wealthy black guy in politics there wouldn't be the same outcome? Like the first time it happened his wealth and reputation had nothing to do with it, and if it were a black guy with the same influence, he'd go to jail instantly. Wasn't OJ black, so why didn't he go to jail, what about R Kelly? The real argument is the the poorest demographic in our country is black and they're less likely to even be in a situation like this. We should actually be upset that more black people aren't given the same opportunities to become wealthy sociopaths.

It needs to be live. That way the people can call out the appropriate parties for their ignorance. It's not the news outlets job to fact check someone who clearly made it up on purpose to further divide or had someone write their whole spiel and decided not to fact-check it themselves. I don't want editing picking and choosing what they're going to air. There needs to accountability without the aid of censorship, leaving no one to deny what they said when there is live proof

A prominent member/donor of the democratic party is alleged to have been exploiting minorities in their downtime and initially got away with it because of their connections? Well I for one a shocked. SHOCKED I say. -_-Wake up brothers and sisters. We've been so blinded by the bad actors on the right that we can't see we're getting played like a cheap fiddle by people on the left. These people DO NOT care about us. Period.

Thanks for sharing Chance's full quote about the desensitization to oppression when it happens to black women. Kind of sad you decided to dive in on the misquoting of him rather than the clear fact of what he stated which is that most people don't seem to care when black women are abused, violated, raped, murdered, etc. I guess you made my point. You don't either.

These people have their hearts in the right place, and the cases they are speaking of are indeed injustices, but when they insist on race baiting the issues like with the Buck case, are they not aware that in the United States a white person is actually statistically more likely to be killed by a black person than a black person is to be killed by a white person?
