I don't understand the mentality of being angry at people for singing lyrics that happen to be reclaimed slurs. If you want to sell records, and think that it is perfectly acceptable to use that term in the lyrics, but that the lyrics cannot be recited by other races, then clearly you're the one proclaiming that the music is not made for, or to be appreciated by, those other races. That seems racist. If you get offended by someone singing a lyric because of their race, you're the one taking race into consideration in your offense. If you don't want certain people to recite that lyric, but you want those people to buy your record, then don't use that term as a lyric. You can't have it both ways forever.

If you don't like the word why do yous use it all the time. If it's in music, shows or movies people will say it. I'm Australia so the word doesn't mean that much over here most people just say and if it's in a song the will say it no one really bats an eye. I feel like if it's such a bad word just stop using it. You can't expect a group of people to not use a word while you say it all the time. I also find it fascinating that, that one word can cause so much hate, it's 2019 words shouldn't offend you especially that one if I'm too understand correctly slavery died a long time ago if you were a slave in your live and called that word instead of being giving a name is can see why you'd get upset.

want people to stop thinking it is okay to say specific words? then everyone INCLUDING the people who think they own the word should stop using it. we can raise our kids to know better all we want but eventually they will think it is okay if they sing it, because it is part of the song. or think because their one friend or friends of color say it is okay to say it that they can because those few said it was cool. no one uses chink any more or spick. and no one is trying to own those words in fact i'm sure there are tons of slurs that no one hears anymore because they aren't trying to own it or use it in a song. they will go away when we stop making excuses for it to be okay

I think all these rappers that still continue to legitimately use the N word in their music are simply saying this music is only for my people. you other races get out of our culture. If you want to be treated as equals and thought of less by your skin and more by your character then why continue to perpetuate this culture of self segregation? A big part of being able to move forward is an air of forgiveness (and, no, I this does not mean forgetting. It is time to think of an olive branch as a form of currency instead of as a slap in the face.

Word police; the whole point of music is to sing and play along, to embrace the words and the notes. No one holds a monopoly on a word, even if is a word that is associated with racism. Reclaiming the word and then using it in widely accepted art forms then saying a specific race or culture can't sing that word is racism in itself. You are justifying that the word is only used by other races as a racist slur (which clearly isn't true in all cases, meaning the word is still oppressive and racist and shouldn't be used period in any form.

I guess K pop is only for the fun Korea. Dubstep is only for fax machines. It's a song. Created for public consumption. Don't want people singing? Don't put it in your song. I doubt the artist gives a fat baby's dick about what color the person is that bought their album. Money comes in many colors as well. Don't be hypocrites.

If black people don't want non black people to sing any variations of the word nigger, they shouldn't put it in popular culture. It's like a sick form of entrapment. My best friend throughout high school is black, and she refused to tolerate the word in ANY form. She even was in an altercation with a black girl who refused to stop calling her. Reclaiming the word means not demeaning yourself in the process. Use the word in a way that is actually empowering. Not just repeating the actual slur.
