His misunderstanding of prayer and what someone with integrity can pray for is not surprising. Sad really. I'm a Christian. Would largely identify as a conservative evangelical. His rhetoric about what he hates in other people and his name calling is appalling. His disregard for the heartfelt convictions of others (in this case Romney) is sad. And his theological understanding is incredibly shallow. This is what happens when religion is weaponized in the political world. I believe there is a place for faith in politics. It's necessary because it's bigger than politics and more core for a majority of people than is politics. Romney said it well of himself - hard to separate the two. But Trump, being a man of little or no faith (certainly not demonstrated humility, refuses to seek understanding of others or the bigger picture that the Christian world view points to.

Gayle asks legit questions about the whole legacy of the man. Snoop: 'How dare you question his legacy -He's and you're black, we need to stick together against Whitey'Also Snoop: 'You should care more about being 'respectful' because he was rich and famous (like me, his family is entitled to (more) respect than the poors and nobodies. ' BTW the reason why these questions cropped up now, is the same why people talked about Michael Jackson and kids; when he died, the same reason tons stories about the lies that started the Iraq War popped up when people were saying that Trump makes Bush look better or why we will hear about Monica Lewinsky when Clinton dies, or rape when Cosby and Weinstein die or murder when OJ dies. or should we be respectful and not talking about any of that either?

As I am not American and have no side on the Trump thing. I just see crazy, hate filled desperation on his side with a dash of megalomaniac. No one will send him bombs or try to take him out. The opposition trys through the law, his side are sending threats against their foe and their loved ones, bombs, lies and violence. All politicians tweak the story to their side, say they are looking out for you but rarely do. Both sides are guilty of absolute bs at one time or another and both have had real champions. I try to see the underlying good from anyone in power but Trump has shown since the early 80's that he only cares for himself. The people around him refuse to admit they are wrong.

For what it is worth as a religious person I was glad to hear someone acknowledge that it factored into their decision. It is I feel a dimension of myself that can be at odds with the other sides of me at times. If I have one criticism of Mitt Romney it is that it was the only side that he stated kept him in check. If only for the fear of God he did the right thing. I don't believe that you have to believe in God to do moral things. His speech made it seem that he had weighed the consequences and could get on board with doing the wrong thing if not for his oath to God. I am glad that guard rail is in place but in my mind it should not have been THE reason to do what he thinks is right.

honestly, i don't feel safe in this country anymore. to know that people still support donald trump is simply sickening. This presidency has taught me 3 things. 1. this country is full of people who only care about themselves. they don't care if the other person dies, gets hurt, is sick, etc. they hate brown people, gay people, or any people who are different from them. 2. my country won't keep me safe. so I have to keep myself safe. 3. i'm too nice. if trump wins again, i've prepared a set of measures that i will need to take in order to remain safe (within the last 4 years, ive experienced a number of hate crimes. That will NOT happen again)

With regards to Trump. The man is a monster. A lying, hate filled bully who only cares about himself. Without his silver spoon upbringing he would be nothing. America can no longer lecture any country on justice after that sham in the senate. They have set precedent for political corruption and that precedent is. Have at it. If you're on our side it does not matter. It makes me sad, as I feel we cannot rely on America like I felt we could in the past. He is everything wrong with the U. S in a microcosm of bile, racism, lies, uncaring ignorance and hate. the day he is gone many people will be that bit happier worldwide.
