Personally, my biggest issue with this virus is that I live in Canada and my girlfriend lives just across the border from me in the states. The border is closed down which means I cant see her anymore. This has already screwed me up really hard and its been half a month since Ive seen her. It could be years before I see her again. The not knowing is killing me on the inside and I know its the same for her. This whole situation sucks but this personal issue makes it infinitely worse for the two of us. I wish people could just be smarter about this.

as someone who lives in new jersey and is now facing a possible quarantine backed by martial law, i have to say that this video did ease my mind quite a bit. it feels like everything around here has essentially been doomsday, but this is giving me hope that maybe things won't be as bad as we initially believe it to be. that isn't going to stop me from doing everything i can to not catch covid-19, but it gives me an almost peace of mind knowing that if i DO become infected, it won't be the end of everything. so thank you for that.

As an epidemiologist that has to work with people that range from 3+medical phds with decades of experience in the field to the everyday people calling in with everyday concerns this video is really well made, It bridges the gap that is made between the overly specialized and the people who don't have anything to do with it and who get their information only from gossip or TV. I wish videos like this were made and spread more in my country. Thank you

I think I may have had this virus a few months ago already. It's not that bad. I'm worried were about to cause a depression because of a virus that we don't know much about and it might not be bad at all. You know what else sucks? It might be a horrible virus. We just don't know. I'm still worried we're overreacting but we won't know the right move until we make a move. It's frustrating.

Can you talk about the Fusco family in NJ? Out of the 11 deaths due to the Coronavirus in NJ in just the last week, their family had 4 of them and another one was a family friend. Besides that, they still have 3 members in critical condition. If people don't take the virus seriously, they should think about that poor family, and think of the importance of self quarantining too.

At this rate we probably wont even need the vaccine for the current strain. If the majority of the population catch it and survive we will develop enough herd immunity. Now obviously we will still eventually need vaccines similar to the flu if this thing continues to mutate new strains every year. Which will probably happen.

TL; DR - Vaccines and viral treatments that would deal with something like this generally aren't profitable. Therefore, the market will not solve this problem. It takes careful planning with a clear goal detached from the mindset of But when do we make money. It's almost like this virus exposes a critical problem with capitalism.
