I might be of another country with a different view on it, but why is blackening your face by default wrong? If you dress up like someone of black colour because they are an artist or it is the colour of the people's theme (in case of the Arabian night. How is that mockery, in some situations it could even be honering. I get that in the past blackface was used for mockery and I agree that's wrong, but has context lost all it's value? We have this discussion in the Netherlands currently, where we celebrate Sinterklaas around Christmas. The helpers of Sinterklaas have blackface, this is because in the tale they go down chimney's. Lately the blackface got swapped for some coalstripes across the face, which is fair, but also for green, yellow, pink, etc facepaint which honestly doesn't make sense. Of course it is more part of your cultures history then mine so I might not see the whole picture but is context irrelevant nowadays?

IN REGARDS TO JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND BLACKFACE: Quote: Darkening your face, regardless of the context or the circumstances is always unacceptable because of the racist history of black faceAllow me to introduce you to the social culture of Ganguro. It is the Japanese styling of darkening your face and coloring their lips- they did not have the same civil climate within their borders as Americans did so this is seen as socially acceptable. It was a social trend to defy the concept of beauty, nothing to do with race. People should stop being sensitive to this because it was a product of the time. Yes it was insensitive, but so was having segregation which was still prevalent into the 1960s. Learn from your history. Stop trudging up every little bad thing so that someone can be hated, even though theyve obviously moved on with their lives.

per the vape story; i think maybe creating sensible limitations/regulations make a LOT more sense than any ban (which will definitely grow the black market. Limit niccotine content. limit what flavors can be used with nicotine to a few boring ones (mint, vanilla, tobacco? , and provide all the other flavors ONLY in a non-niccotine formula. yes, people will blend. yes. there will be kids using. but strengthening restrictions on age limits, as well as the changes above, could really reduce the possible harms. it's my understanding many of those affected in the us were using black-market products, at least in part, and many of them had thc in them, as well as a form of vitamin E which is quite harmful when inhaled. Lets not give the guys making those a boost by eliminating their legal competition.

The e cig crack down puts non smokers at risk of cancer. I live in Europe in my country over 70% of the populations smokes at least 1 pack of cigarets. Officially they have no smoking areas but that is tourist PR. People smoke all the time inside out side if your pregnant, sick, an infant, or elderly they do bot care. In fact if you are pregnant the dr do not even bother to tell you to stop smoking bc they know you wont. The switch from to e cigarets has made my non smoking life with an infant infinitely better. When we go to the beach we dont play in a giant used cigaret filled ash tray. When we go out to cafes we dont have to sit in a cloud of smoke or come home smelling like a dive bar. I see the E cig crack down as abusive lobbying from gross and deadly Cigaret companies.

The only deaths are related imported ejuices where instead of vegetable glycerine, vitamin e oil was used. Almost all of them have been directly tracked to China, and a couple of them were actually juul knock offs that were purchased after the juul flavor ban. These deaths were literally caused by the first flavor ban Yes we need to figure out a better way to restrict access for kids and make them less intriguing, but this ban will only cause more deaths from ignorant users purchasing products overseas and will only increase the use of cigarettes which had seen a markable downturn. This is going to create a gigantic health crisis and I urge anyone reading to do some investigating and reach out to their representatives.

Trudeau made a mistake, and what he did had racist connotations, but I feel like its worth taking into account that it was 18 years ago. People change, thats a long ass time. I dont follow politics much, but he never seemed like the racist type to me. I think its more likely he was being an idiot than purposely being racist. He should 100% still be held accountable and criticized for this, but i dont think people should automatically assume hes racist currently. I dont think people should change their votes over this, it sounds like he just did something really dumb and genuinely regrets it.

This cancel culture is exhausting. It basically tells us that mistakes of the past are not something you can learn from and grow wiser, but a reason to stone you to death. No one is free of mistakes, and no one is born with all the knowledge regarding right and wrong, racist or not. I learned a lot about racism over the years, and I haven't heard about black face before my mid twenties. Let people learn and do better instead of acting like self righteous know-it-all. Canada has Trudu, the US has Trump. Not everyone learns from their mistakes, but at least some know when they are wrong.

As for the Canadian PM Trodue his family is political royalty in Canada. He was groomed from a child to be PM one day. He knew black face was insulating and racist, he did not care at all because he thought (and still does) think that he is untouchable. Which is the real tea. I grew up in the deep south of america stereotypically the racist areas of america and NO ONE i knew was like Oh gee lets dress up in black face and make silly faces I am older then I look and I remember just why black face is so incredibly demeaning and insulting this guy is older then me. He has NO EXCUSS.

Really, YouTube? You get presumably thousands of complaints about ACTUAL issues with your site every day, and the Verification Badge is what you want to focus on? I refuse to believe that this issue constitutes more than 1% of the total number of complaints YouTube receives, so I'm having a hard time understanding why the hell they really want to devote time and resources to that feature, especially when they have to know that it's only going to result in EVEN MORE COMPLAINTS about the new feature not working properly I just don't understand YouTube anymore.
