The whole dog off leash story is such a complicated knot of issues that looks deceptively simple at first. Here are my thoughts: 1. Amy was breaking the park rules flagrantly in view of the sign that had the rules posted clearly on it. This is indicative of her thinking that the rules of the public shared space do not apply to her. 2. When she is politely confronted by Christian to properly leash her dog and abide by the rules, she declined, and Christian told her if she was going to do what she wanted, so was he. He pulled out a bag of dog treats, intending to toss them to the dog. 3. When Amy heard Christian say something that could be twisted into that may be interperated as a threat, she ran with it. Even though it's not on video, I believe Amy is lying about him coming out of the bushes screaming at her. She knew damn good and well what she was doing by lying to make it look like Christian was the aggressor, and by bringing his race into it, when there was no need since she was speaking to him and not giving a description. I believe that it also speaks volumes about her internal thoughts and feelings about people of colour. I do helieve she is racist, but it's a much more subtle racisim than something like simply calling him the hard-r-n-word in a Southern accent. That kind of racisim is much more insidious and harder to combat than what comes to mind when the word racisim is used. 4. Despite knowing she is being recorded, Amy continues to work herself into a panic and a frenzy while on the phone with the 911, despite the fact that Christian is standing there as chill as can be. 5. The police arrive and determine that it's a verbal dispute, no crime has been committed and both parties just need to go their separate ways, which happens and no arrests are made. 6. The video footage goes online and goes viral.

When I heard Phil say Staten Island, I was worried that it was going to be something bad, but I'm glad I was wrong. Yes, the shouting and screaming may seem excessive, but given how some people seem to disregard the severity of the issue that is covid-19, I see this as an unfortunate consequence of trying to stay safe. I mean, take a look at the countless amount of videos showing Karens trying to push their way (literally and figuratively) into stores/situations because the management/people involved are just trying to handle the situation as calmly as possible. Some people just can't get it through their head that covid-19 is a real threat and screaming at them might be the only way that they get that they aren't welcome if they're endangering others. Also on a very large tangent, if people can freak out about black people just being a threat simply by being near them with absolutely no basis for that, surely there's nothing unreasonable about people freaking out about the dangers of covid-19, which is a real and documented issue (I'm kidding)

Just WOW! She absolutely weaponized his race & color. Sorry she is now paying the the consequence of her actions! Maybe next time she will put her dog on leash! That's what caused all of this. Her unwillingness to leash her dog per the CLEARLY visible signage. SMDH! Two points though: 1st - White people need to think before they call the police on people of color, although in this one situation the police responded correctly. 2nd - Do not blame him for asking her to follow the rules! There was nothing wrong with this gentleman pointing out the RULES of the Ramble. He is, like everyone else who visits this place is entitled to defend it! This is one of the many reasons this Country is in the state it's in. No one thinks they are RESPONSIBLE for ANYTHING, including follow the LAW! Just because it's a small law, misdemeanor, fine, etc. Doesn't mean it doesn't matter. We need to hold each other accountable. We need to follow the rules, laws and expectations of our society. When we don't, it can cost everyone.

i have severe asthma and haven t left the house much in the past 3 mos. i wore a mask for the first time today and felt suffocated, but i knew it wasn t just for me. i see these big crowds and i just see people who are okay with exposing their loved ones and disposing those of us with preexisting conditions. virginia, my home state s governor has now made mask-wearing mandatory and said he would re-close va beach if there was crowds. however, that was before he went there, maskless, approached by people for pictures. i hate to say it, but in most cases, you re either compassionate and cautious once we reopen, or you only care about yourself. some people don t have a choice, like me, like essential workers, like those living in poverty, etc. people should start thinking about us like their loved ones before they crowd the beaches.

The way that woman, and literally every other woman we've seen being racist and calling the cops, goes all hysterical as if someone was chasing her and without a doubt threatening her life is all the proof we need that she was outright TRYING to get this man HURT by the police. She wanted to sound as terrified as possible so that the police came there without asking questions; So they would immediately be on high alert and come in hot then possibly try to detain this man with no just cause, ending in resisting arrest and possibly a beating/murder on the police end against the man. I wouldn't be surprised with how she was acting on the phone if they came and immediately it turned hostile without any real reason because the police are so convinced something has happened.

I dont usually post but I feel it worthy today. I am at 10 minutes in, so I am commenting on the central park story. This woman needs to face criminal charges tbh, and in my opinion her apologies are hollow. She got called out on a matter of the public ( keep your dog on the damn leash ) and she didnt like that, and she did something that is equivelant to threatening is his life, and claiming HE threatened her. It is not possible to fully apologize for what she did with words. Her apology can be upgraded to acceptable if she spends time and effort trying to make a difference to the cause. Otherwise she is only a part of the problem that needs to be solved, and in that case idgaf if your life is ruined. 8D

Can somebody tell me why that they didn't least get a fine for making a false police report? Oddly enough this is exactly something I would could definitely see a white woman getting away with. And with the lady not wearing a mask at the store, I've been noticing a lot lately that there are few people who think since nobody staying in the sink when they're outside that nobody will tell them anything when they're inside a store full of people. When you're outside and nobody's around you or close to you then of course is not going to be a big deal. But inside a store people are going to be nearby within Close Quarters. wear a mask people.

I get the part where she was scared because someone came out of the bushes in a secluded area but where she told the police his race first it sounded like she would know what that action would cause if she feels uncomfortable she should have tried to flee and this man shouldn t have been trying to feed her dog if she doesn t know what he is giving her dog and it seems like he likes to do this to many people which is not okay if he likes to bird watch in this area and people normally bring there dogs he should call the park rangers not try to police the situation himself

On the subject on the corona virus has turned into something that we just have to leave up to natural selection at this point, which I hate to say but we have given the numbers, told them the science and they choose to ignore it and think they are smarter than scientist and know better, it's still baffles me how the right can call the left cry baby snowflakes and then get genuinely offended by a face mask and health security measures. Also trump chooses not to wear a mask or treat this issue seriously because he knows his supporters would not like it
