Don Lemon is a race baiting piece of crap who thrives off of other peoples misery. You know darn well he is touching himself every single night at home over these RIOTS that have been happening. He is just like most others in main stream media. They have so much to gain when civil unrest like this happens and it shows with their click bait over reactive titles and bs articles filled with over hyped junk.
My brain cannot process how people still watch CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC. My brain cannot comprehend how people think these places are a legitimate news source anymore. I mean you can LITERALLY read the headline of a news story and get the whole story nowadays just from the headline itself. The body of the story is usually filled with opinions and unnamed sources. Its insane what passes for journalism nowadays and people just keep eating it up. There are other news sources out there with WAAAAY less bias. Every single news/blog site has bias though to a point. Left and right. Read different ones and land somewhere in the middle. That's the best you can do when consuming news nowadays.
Also, when I say riots I mean the people who are abusing the poor mans death who was murdered by those few racist police officers. Not the actual peaceful protesters who actually want change and to have a voice. As someone in a tiny town I thank you people who are in these larger cities doing the protesting. You are also speaking for us super small town folks who don't have a voice as loud as all yours combined.

I think celebs need to shut up. They need to show with action that they are mad. Encourage people to vote out the corrupt government and donate to those in need. Don't sitting behind your phone or pc and then support the riots but then tell them not to come to where you live. Likewise, all this vocal promotion just helps their own brand to make sales. I understand being mad and fearing for your life hence not wanting to go to the streets to protest, but all I see OK social media are people who are virtue signaling and condoning the riots because insurance will handle it and they didn't listen to us when we were peaceful. Bunch of BS. for the former, they probably haven't dealt with insurance companies to know what a hassle it is and how expensive things can get (again, this isn't an issue for them since they're rich. For the latter, you think now that you're not peaceful they're gonna listen? Nah, I guarantee that all this is gonna amount to is property damage and media coverage and then everyone will go silent till the next incident like this happens. I'd like to see all those people posting six days after x protests x law was passed in the next month and ask them if anything changed. The protests aren't gonna do shit, take it to the polls and elections and make your mark and don't give shit excuses like nah it ain't gonna work cos everyone corrupt. That's absolute BS. So basically you just want to make a noise but not make a change

I actually think Trump, in his own head, probably thought he was sending a message warning about the consequences of unchecked looting. and yet, that's the problem. He insists on using his own Twitter account to communicate the White House's position, but simply lacks the patience and articulation skills needed to handle that responsibility. which is an insane statement about the President of the United States. If he was an communications team intern, he'd be let go in a day. And his tweets and retweets have real consequences. He claims he wasn't ACTUALLY telling an immigrant congresswoman to be sent back home when he told an immigrant congresswoman to be sent back home. and how many days later did we see an entire arena of his supporters chanting 'send her back, send her back'? He retweets known white nationalists and claims he didn't know they were white nationalists and yet he continues to embolden all the tried and true white supremacists who see him as their champion. He is a child who should've had his phone taken away from him long ago. but try telling that to all the totally reasonable and grounded people who continue to support him.

Someone should Photoshop the kneeling football player in place of the kneeling cop over George's neck.
Add an Archer wop wop
You know, coz all of this is a joke for our entertainment - no one is dumb enough to think their full weight on their knee on a person's neck for 9 minutes would kill someone.
Everyone knows it takes at least 18 minutes of knee to neck to die. You could clearly hear the guy saying i cant breath. Where's he getting the air to say i cant breath if he couldn't breath, eh?
Let's say a doctor says no, he could breath - he died from a stroke. Would you believe the doctor? (authority fallacy)
Let's say Phillip defranco says: there's other videos of people who had knee to neck and they didn't die, would you listen then? (anecdotal)
Is any of this making sense? Come have a conversation with me on epistemology/rhetoric.

I currently have not been apart of any of the protest in my city mostly because I do not have a car nor do I have anyone in the area that I could even catch a ride with. Though even if I had a car I don t know if I could go no matter how much I want to. Going to the drug store gives me a panic attack that pretty much makes me useless for the rest of the day and I just don t think I could stay calm enough to even get out of the car. This makes me think of celebrities who are just people with a wider platform. I think it is one thing if the stay radio silent through this time, but if they are doing what they are are comfortable doing I think we should not bash them for not doing enough. This is a tough time in so many ways and I think it is time to step up, but it is also a time to understand ones boundaries and not let anger and hatred fuel every move.

I went to the story about think Katrina before FEMA got their act together even remotely in the beginning when Brad Pitt was there helping and I believe it was a field hospitals and he was doing so in such a way that no one but a very few slick people knew that he was there because if they did even in the midst of that disaster it would have become something of a madhouse and a lot of attention would have shifted to him rather than the incident hand. so I've always assumed that the really big names tend not to actually physically go because it becomes a security issue and it just complicates things further for the people that are actually there working or that need help. so logistically the big big name people not physically being on the ground is always made sense to me for that reason.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Mark Zuckerberg is right.
If a social media plattform starts censoring these things, they are opening a whole can of worms. Now they have to censor every single statement that could be interpreted to be glorifying violence. In case you haven't noticed, there are a lot of people encouraging riots these days (often the same people calling for Trump to be silenced. Once they get censored they will turn around and accuse Mark of being facist and whatnot. You can't win this game - might as well just stick to your principles and the constitution and let everyone talk.
Also being censored helps Trump get reelected because he can play the victim-card. Let people hear what he has to say and disagree with him in the voting booth.

so when large flare ups in infection rates begin to appear across these cities happen in a few weeks, is that just going to be a thing that is addressed when it happens then? i understand the need for peaceful demonstrations and a call to action around the death and police corruption but if hong kong protesters can hold off mass gathering during a pandemic then at the very least protesters should be enacting peaceful and safe demonstrations in regards to social distancing and action.
I understand the reaction and need for protests but if its just going to get more people killed and infected, then its counter productive and is just going to do more damage.

Right to free expression is not right to amplification. Twitter did the right thing, the tweet was still accesible, they just made it harder to spread. The debate for me is about the amplification and spread we do of content, like with coronavirus information, rather the content itself. Enable the easy access and spread of facts and make fake information and myths hard to find, you do not spread coronavirus false information on tv, don t do it on The internet either, the people who want it will stoop to 4chan levels to find it, so you are not supressing it, but you are not inflaming or derrailing public discourse with it.
