What's REALLY EXPOSED In This Drew Brees, Lebron James, Laura Ingraham Situation. Louis: Thumbs down. Drew Brees got canceled for his opinion. Laura Ingram is a political pundit talking about Drew Brees original comment, his apology, the reaction to both and what it means to this country. Her take is very relevant. She is also not a bigot. It's important to realize that accusations of racism and bigotry have been thrown around so much that they have lost all meaning. Our country is in a pivotal point in history. We may lose forever what America is as an idea, a concept, a country is forever. We are losing our realistic practice of our first amendment right. Once that right is lost completely there will be negative changes to this country that you cannot even imagine. Hong Kong waived the American flag during their protest. They believed in our American spirit more than many Americans do. People don't understand that America is a benchmark and beacon of freedom to the rest of the world because of our bill of rights. We are on the cusp of losing it all.

I don't hate anyone. I just try to protect myself from the anger that people can pass on on a daily basis. Laura Ingraham gets paid to spread division. She is only doing so because her media heads want to paint a narrative that makes this country's accolades more inflated in the eyes of the world. It is an overstep that marks the hubris of this nation. The way it was should not be. The way you were should change.
We should do more with each other, and live for each other. It is not about who is an American, but who does America make. We need to make AMERICANS great again, before the America can be as great. We need to make the American Ideal as simple and as easy as possible. Straightforward, simple, and accessible to everyone who wishes to tread Ellis Island and recite the Star-Spangled Banner. We all should be counted as American - and none shall be worth less than his neighbour.

You actually twist the narrative so much it's scary. Jenkins says- your opinion is irrelevant because you're white listen to what I am telling you. Engrahm told LeBron no one cares about what you think because you don't hold any position that matters outside of a basketball court, and that's true. He isn't in office he isn't running for office and he doesn't have an extensive overview of the American political system. Also, when Engrahm told LeBron to shut up and dribble it was when he started talking politics when no one asked fot it. Here, the whole country is discussing this and Brees was litterally asked about it, if he weren't asked about it something would be off. There's a hot bottom topic that the interview completely avoids.

I support peaceful protests. I did in 2016 and I do now. I do see kneeling as disrespectful but that has nothing to do with my opinion. There is also a first amendment that protects your right to do or say what I don't like. Where I draw the line, and what drives me crazy that no one is talking about is your right to protest while on the clock. I don't have the right to protest while being paid by my job and neither does Kaepernick. The NFL pays him, they asked him not to do it on the field. They gave him the option to remain off of the field during the anthem and if he wants to protest on his own time, have at it! Kneel with a boom box on your shoulder playing the National Antham on repeat. Just not during work. It's that simple.

Respect goes every which way, and needs to be earned or returned in kind. If you demand respect from white people while aggressively putting them down over micro aggression's they don't even know they are doing, then you are part of the ever growing problem. Also, since most respect these days is based on how much a persons political and social opinions are in line with yours, anyone who has different opinions, experiences than you can never truly earn your respect.
This is just a general case though. Small communities of people, even those with conflicting political and social opinions tend to have far more respect for each other than large communities.

Thank you Philly D for being a beacon of consistency in my life. I just had to with go some of the worst feelings of my life. Stepping foot into a hospital after I'd been tricked into giving birth naturally, and only sedated after dozens of vomit fits plus over a day of contractions, was truly horrific. Only managed to get threw it after 3 years of asking Kaiser Permanente and other doctors to treat my symptoms and they laughing to my face even refusing to put them in a chart. But I come home and guess who's religious upload a video to cleanse my mind and heal my soul. Thank you and hug your wife and kid(s? If you happen to see this of course.

the same way he sees his ancestors and what they fought for I see the same wen I see Colin Kaepernick kneeling except I'm not just seeing the past work and struggle I'm seeing the past, present, and future, I see the past fight for abolishing slavery and civil rights, I see the current fight to stop cops from wrongfully killing my people and all other people, and I as an 18 year old African American see the future fight of having the chance of going to prison or straight up dying on spot for doing absolutely nothing except being black. I just think that if you are allowed to show and respect your symbols we should be able to too.

the national anthem is for us ALL it is paying respect to our forefathers that built the country and that doesnt mean the white men, that means EVERYONE, the slaves, the natives, the poor, the rich, the middle class, the troops, the activist. its an ideal and symbol that unifies us all. kneeling is taking away from that sacrifice and hardship, those lives lost. i understand what the knee is meant for but thats the point of the national anthem, to pay homage to the past and look forward to the future. and refusing to take part in that is like saying all lives matter when the protest is black lives matter. its the same damn thing

All he's saying when he says don't take a knee, is why does it have to be specifically that. He views it as an unnecessary slight towards a much larger concept while trying to do a good thing. You can choose to view it otherwise, and everyone should be allowed their opinion on it. Just as you want your voice to be heard and values protected so does he. To make him out as some kind of villain is preposterous. Certainly some of the people rallying around his statement are less than okay, especially trying to weaponize his words as a political statement. Don't make a man into a monster because you need him to be.

Remember when LeBron was mad because he felt China was being disrespected? LOL. Repressive Communist Regime are better than your own country, I guess. That said, I think Drew is wrong to associate those protests with being against the flag in anyway. I never thought they were productive expressions, though, because they were divisive in that some people saw them that way. It is sad to see Drew ripped down, though. This man is a previous Sportsman of the Year for his work in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Now, because he loves his country and has an opinion, he's being unfairly taken down.
