Propaganda, Protests, & Priests: The Scary Scene Outside The White House & What Comes Next. Femmie: ATTENTION PhilipDefranco If you are looking for a better footage of what is actually happening on the ground. Check out Unicorn Riot they've been on the ground in Minneapolis since day one. I'm sure they would be more then happy to share their footage with you. It's also really important for all your viewers to know that AG Barr just signed an order allowing the DEA to conduct covert surveillance on every protester, peaceful or violent. Including cell phone data. We are now officially living under a fascist dictatorship. Pls get the word out.

Have to feel sorry for trump here. He has riots out of control in the country and the only tool he really has to deal with them are the police. the very people that are causing the riots. Protesters are not starting riots the police are. Our police are 100% out of control. Decades of bad policy and lack of enforcement against them has trained them this is how you do things. People need to realize police are criminals.
This time we had a country on lockdown millions desperate and unemployed people afraid of getting sick. Paranoia high as ever and out of control and everyone on edge. Then we see a 4 cops slowly murder someone on video from multiple angles. Then we see the system trying to cover for them. We get peaceful protests and time and time again you see people turning peaceful protests into riots. Often the people starting it have that steriod police build. Sometimes dressed in stuff police would wear. Or just the riot cops outright attacking people. Police are the criminals here. Who do you call when the police are the criminals?

We are entering a time of division, more than ever it seems. Never before have the words it's us against them rung more true. At least not in my lifetime. The trust in government and police has all but evaporated. We see videos of protesters being harassed by police, then we read statements saying the opposite. I do not understand, in a time when everyone can record everything, how the government thinks it can get away with such blatant lies. People are calling for change, that's why they're protesting; to show them that they are tired of lies, they're tired of oppression. Yet the government continues to cover up their abuse. The whole world is speaking out against these injustices, but it looks as though it has no effect. If police, government officials, the president himself, want things to change, for people to stop protesting, they need to LISTEN. That is the only way. Their actions right now are only fueling the fire.

I get that Trump isn't well liked, but what I'm hearing is that the president is issuing warnings to the states to get their shit together or else. Whether he actually will do it or not depends on how quickly order is restored. Not all protestors are peaceful and painting Trump as the villain here lessens everything the rioters and the police have done.
As for what happened with the protestors in front of the White House it was badly done. I can see why it went down that way, since tensions are running high, but it was badly handled overall. But that is on the police who chose the method, not Trump. Like can we stop blaming the man for doing his best in a situation of crisis? He's only been talking, and fine you might not like how he phrases it, but isn't it important that things calm down, Floyd's murderers be jailed and new laws against such things ever happening be voted in? Like I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong.

My concern is that this is all a precursor to some form of scorched earth, burning bridges strategy. With the critisisms over covid, record unemployment and the powder keg that is inequality in many forms right now it would be difficult for the trump team to focus on a positive that they can base thier campaign on. So if they don't think they can win, maybe the plan is for the people to lose faith in government so any incoming president will spend most of thier tenure putting out the fires from the last few months of this presidency (allowing trump to go back to tweeting about how bad Biden is doing as president. Hopefully that's not the case but another five months of increasingly militaristic solutions to problems is a scary thought

Anybody else noticing that Phil is becoming increasingly partisan and bias with his news? He's cherry picking examples with every video. Omitting the parts of Trump's speech where he supports the peaceful
protest and calls for investigation on Floyd's murder. Downplaying the violence of the rioters and not mentioning the victims of the rioters who were beaten nearly to death and left to die. Also, Leaving out
incredibly important details like the fact that the armed guards were called in response to violent rioters jumping fences. These details are important. This is becoming CNN where there's fires behind reporters and they keep insisting that it's peaceful.

the whole state of the world is disgusting right now, but i have to say. i've never been more disgusted with trump than hearing him using his non-public voice in that phone call at the end of the episode. what a vile man, so dismissive and patronizing and i can't imagine what it would be like to have to work with or under him or be someone that has to participate in a call like that. i'd personally not be able to hold my tongue, i'd be really snippy. probably why i wouldn't make it in politics lmao. i've gotten more bitter and outspoken in my 20s after nearly 2 decades of being a doormat

Hey! One thing that could have been brought up is how the reporters who had been smacked by the shield & hit with the baton were Australian and live on air, there's been outcry from politicans and people in Australia and there has been talk of some sort of action. Isn't it illegal to attack reporters from outside of the country, i'm not 100% certain but? This could have some consequences for America on behalf of Australia and public relations. Of course i'm not certain of everything currently going on but I just thought to mention it.

As an Italian know that i stand with you.
If you take part in any protest, protect your eyes and airways, use both a mask and a bandana, glasses, goggles, whatever you have, make sure that mace doesnt get into your mucose, shield your head from the bullets, bring water and milk to clear out the eyes of people that got maced, take care of them because they are blind and in a dangerous place, reinfore your signs with plastic to use them as shields, prepare for the worst, but stay alert and keep an eye out for weird movements.

What did you all expect him to do? Your country is going to shit. Yes I understand that what happened to the guy was bad and should never have happened but this isn't about him any more. The videos that are being broadcast to the rest of the world look like something from a apocalyptic film. You got to think is this all being done just to make trump look bad? Thing is there must be a lot of sacred people in the US right now so when trump does send in the army and stops this those people are going to love him for it.
