Phil I'm tired of all this B. S. in the world today. We have sold out our country to China and we need to stop buying all this cheap crap from them. Don't get me wrong I think we need to have trade with other countries. I don't want meat from other countries where you are running a major risk of getting sick from it. Another trick they are pulling is mixing the meat from other countries with meat from the U. S. All our crops are being plowed under to get stuff from other countries. It gets worse everyday people can't be civil to each other and if you disagree with someone the fight begins. I think we need to do away with the different parties of gov't and let the people elect the individual person for the position. Because the Republicans and the Democrats cant work together for the people. One of the reasons our crime rate is so high is because parents aren't doing there job of raising productive children. Most of them don't even know what the kids are doing. My kids didn't run the streets and get in trouble. If they did something wrong I would punish them. We all need to do better and start holding people responsible for there actions. I know I'm kind of all over the place here but Trump is coming to Tulsa, OK on Thursday. Which I will not be attending because you have to buy a ticket to listen to him lie. He could have done some great things for our country but he has failed us. Please people vote this election so that we can replace the bad apples we have in our gov't.

Body cams=excellent idea, no-knock warrants=terrible idea, it will create a lot more violent responses and possible hiding evidence, attempts to escape and a whole lot of other problems (just using common sense here. From watching other sources it would appear that the facts are a bit different from what Phil presents anyway and it makes sense. if police wouldn t have made their presence known Breonna Taylor s boyfriend wouldn t have had time to grab his gun and react with gun shots, they both would ve been asleep and simply woken up and arrested. So imo the fact that the cops gave notice of their presence was the mistake. Not sure about Beyonce? Is she a legal expert, police consultant, crisis counselor. anything of the sort? Idk about everyone else but I wish celebrities would stay away from giving their opinion on everything. And on the last topic. why would someone who is biologically male get ovarian cancer screening! Am I missing something?

Some one please tell me if I am wrong.
But the color blindness movement in the 90's worked out the best out of many things we've tried.
You don't have to leave out an understanding of history or culture to do this. It is not exclusive.
A lot of what we have now like trying to give better representation and fighting systemic racism can happen as we spread a culture of treating everyone the same.
I just miss how in the 90's it felt less like us vs them because even if they are your allies, we still other them(I mean that for all races) That needs to stop that just to start moving forward.
To start actually wanting to work with each other. Because they are one of us. Not because it is our moral responsibility, guilt, or easy virtue points.
Isn't the end goal supposed to be us leaving this behind us eventually? This is the big picture.

Although I do believe that some police jurisdictions carry out no knock warrants too regularly and for inappropriate searches, I do know a police officer who was on a targeted enforcement team tasked with carrying them out in the high crime area to which he worked. He would explain to me how there would be times, conducting standard warrants, when people would shoot through the walls and doors as soon as they would announce themselves. Those were times when they wouldn't be serving warrants on houses with murder suspects or know crack houses. They do serve a purpose, but on limited reasoning. Just like every thing else with policing. Is deadly force warranted? Not always, but when it is it is. When its not and its used, the officers involved should face consequences.

I'm having difficulties seeing what is wrong with bells book? Isn't the purple people just used instead so it isn't a single ethnicity, and there by neutral? I like the idea that we should find the similarities instead of stopping at the things that are different. Find similarities between people is a way of creating a bridge to another person, of finding common ground, thereby finding common interests and topics of conversation. If we only focus on the things that are different, is that not a divisive way of thinking in it self? I think there should be more books about finding similarities, finding the things that are in common, and look beyond race. Just look at the person, their actions and their mind. Isn't that a good thing?
Or am i missing something?

Wow, America really IS a Police State.
You get suspicious packages and suddenly you're a target for police? Are you KIDDING me?
I'll play the devil's advocate as TS myself.
I believe that the Doctor is strictly speaking from a bodily reason, and not 'your mindset' so to say. There are differences between bodies regardless of what we want, that can end up killing us if the wrong thing is done in the name of helping us. I believe that's the sticking point. He's just an idiot at trying to explain that. Not that many other TS and similar folks would care since over half will lie their tongue out about past histories. Just give me a robot body already so I can feel more like I should.

I have not seen the book yet, but I really like Kirsten bell s book idea. And to people who are saying this will cause harm: NO! let me tell you what causes harm (in my opinion) - it s this constant segregation and hatred that people live today. Let me ask you all something: thru all the the left wing politics that have dominated the world in the last 30 years, did any of you noticed society getting less rac1st? I didn t! Maybe it s time to understand that these politics are NOT moving people closer, but farther apart? Maybe it s time to think of a different direction? A direction based on integration?

Basically the current climate is: If you are white we are going to attack you for benign things because we're not white. So you should bow down to us because you're white and we are not white. People talk about equality and they want equal rights, well hate to break it to you. Two wrongs do not make a right. I'm not racist, not even a bigot, but if you're going to go around attacking white people for doing things that are so benign, that right there is racism/bigotry. Knock it off, it is 2020. Let's end this year on a good note, since we are halfway through already. //endrant

The similarities first approach has actually helped me open productive conversations when talking to mostly older people who are very rooted in their beliefs or just uneducated about certain issues. I think it's a good strategy to change peoples' minds if you have the time and energy for it. People tend to be more open to listening when you start on even ground and agree on something, ex. I believe that all lives matter but here is why Black lives need our attention right now. Of course some people will never change, but the few that you get through to are always worth it.

i like all the fluff speech, and yet after saying all that about changing it back, there is never a mention of an alternative, i mean if they at least gave one i wouldn't be so mad, fine they're reverting this to make it more understandable, but are adding something else, I mean I know passing a new law isnt exactly easy with our current Gov't especially one such as this, but im just saying how hard would it be to make a law that quite clearly states, Idk, Making it illiegal to deny health care based on gender identity. not sure how much more concise i can make that.
