I work in a university in Malaysia, this is how we do it here with our international students: we allow them to fully attend classes online during our full lockdown as all universities were asked to shut down and move online but they can't go back to their home country yet at the time. Then in the next few phases of our lockdown, the immigration allow international students to travel home with permission by the university and can attend the classes online from their home country. In our recovery phase right now, international students are allowed back into the country if they want to but can still choose attend classes online for the remaining of the semester, the only time their student visa will be in danger is if they fail to show up for online classes for three times in a row unless they are hospitalised and can provide letters of confirmation from the hospital. So, I'm surprised with how the US is handling it, and I fail to understand the reasoning behind it as well. I don't know what's the law over there for this, but surely some exceptions can be made because of the pandemic.

Tiktok is, already, a terrible app. It has a terrible editor and the app fails to truly customize what content you see; aka you'll always see TikTok thots even if you don't want to.
Additionally the app has descriminated against its users time and time again. Their app is ran terribly and they're extremely shady; It's the type of app that the Carona Virus Challenge can thrive on.
If the app gets banned, it'll be the best for everyone. The fact that nobody is really surprised by the idea that TikTok is spying on its users says a lot about the app.
On a secondary note, the fact that our country has Ice and are, essentially, using the virus as an excuse to kick peoole out of this country is incredibly saddening. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. It's shameful, vile, and dispicable to treat foreign students so terribly and scare them so much. I know it doesn't mean much, but if any of you read this, I'm sorry for how our country is treating you. You have my full support.

The government stole the land from the Native Americans and forve them to live on reservations. Yet, they made it work and carved out a culture in which they could thrive. To further cause suffering, the government allowed the pipeline to be constructed bypassing any and all requests for it to be built in another area. Now the government is causing more damage to the land allocated to the Native Americans. If they would have just moved the pipeline, there wouldn't have as many problems. The government has stolen their land and are risking polluting their water source just because they can. It's appalling and disgusting. We tend to ignore the plight of the Native Peoples. It's time to stand up with them and interrupt the flow of oil.

The only answer that I can think of would be to send a letter to the university to sue the university for not providing what you are paying for, in person classes, and demand compensation. No one would move unless there is money involved. The university, would be fast to act if they would have to pay out millions of dollars and probably would just arrange international students to come into classes whereas local students have to study online, that would cut down the amount of students in the university and allow space for distance between those international students, and put down tons of rules for health and safety.

Why isn t it the university s responsibility to work to keep their students? They should be working out a way to keep everyone safe and protect their international students. A hybrid model sounds like a great idea. Potentially even prioritizing the international students for the limited in person classes? And isn t it cruel that other countries could potentially deny their own citizens entrance into their country? People saying it cruel that the US doesn t want people abusing their student visa but then their own countries won t even take them back and no one bats an eye?

The thing with the American government vs. Chinese tech companies' situation is that it isn't at all clear how much of the opposition is economic and how much is actually driven by security concerns. Trump is a generally economically protectionist - it isn't at all uncharacteristic of his administration to go after another country's exports where they compete with the US. On the other hand, China _does_ do truly Black Mirror-esque stuff with citizen's data within its own borders. And to some extent, China's economic ascendancy itself _is_ a security concern.

It is somewhat justified to deny international students Visa, because if they can take classes online they can just take those online classes from home in their home country.
That being said, This is a real shit show! 9 days for Universities to make this important decision is not enough. You can deny international students coming into the country, saying that they can attend those online classes from home. But those that are already in the country should be given an extension to stay in the country.

5: 39 - this guy - Costco needs to give that guy a coupon. The elderly woman is merely spreading fear, why wouldn't they allow him to return that favor? Losing his job is not worth it. There was no real animosity; though I'm glad he was able to convey his message. The whole 'hand holding' culture needs to end, really. I thought we got the joke of participation trophies.

I'm brazilian and a lot of us believes that Jair is actually lying because he wants to prove that covid really is just a little flu and not only that he also wants to prove that Chloroquine is effective for covid treatment. YEAH. a whole conspiracy. And at this point, i wouldn't be shocked it that was the case. But we will never really truly know.
