A SWEDISH singer has become an icon of determination after being involved in a serious train accident that left him with third-degree burns and extensive scars. In 2012, one summer evening, the then 19-year-old Axel Schylstr-m climbed to the top of a train and received an 16, 000 volt electric shock which resulted in burns to 70 percent of his body. After years of intensive rehabilitation, Axel turned to music and decided to embrace his scars. An aspiring musician, his major musical breakthrough came in 2015 when he appeared on Swedish Idol, ultimately finishing in fourth place. Now aged 27, Axel has also become a motivational speaker to help others that have been burnt and inspire people to embrace their unique beauty

You have very few scars on your face, which you were so lucky. My niece was burned bad, but, it hasn-t changed her whatsoever. She has always had the confidentiality in herself and this never changed her. Her attitude with her scars is, if they bother anyone she is dating, she doesn-t want to waste her time, her attitude being if they don-t like how she is, it-s not her problem and she lets them move on!
She is doing better now than ever, so everything is good, just do like she has done and do not let other people-s problems effect your day to day attitude. You are different, however you are still you, you just look a bit different than before. You are a very handsome man and you never lost that or your heart!

In the documentary -End Game- on Netflix, a doctor named B. J. Miller had a similar accident. Dr Miller was also 19 but lost both legs and an arm. He wore a metal watch on the day of his accident which caused electricity to be transmitted to his body; I hope that someday Axel too will find the cause that led to his accident. :)

I lost 35% of my skin to chemical burns at work. Including the grafting scars, it was about 60%. I was near death, but my body looks so similar to yours. Cadaver skin was used to patch me up for a while - Frankenstein's Monster stuff. Horrific pain. Best wishes from Michigan.

He's not the normal burn victim. His face looks burned on the one side but has healed nicely. He has scars but takes good care of his body by moisturizing his skin & he didn't lose any of his fingers like a lot of burn victims. He still has confidence in himself & it shows. :)

I think he still looks very handsome, and with a good char those burnmarks dont matter, hes still fit and his face barely got anything, he was rlly lucky. he can still communicate with his eyes and mouth which is the most attractive.

-listen people- dont do things if you get the urge dont do things fast without thinking make sure you think about the consiquences, hurting yourself and those you love. I speak for accidents like this and suicide victims.

He's lucky to be alive. In trade school we saw many cases of electrical burns - to help us appreciate the danger, I suppose - and often the story ended with the line -this man died of his injuries several days later. -

I understand that he feels he looks different, but he-s still FINE! Anyone who says anything different is probably just jealous of how good he looks after everything he went through. But he-s gorgeous.

This man has more than most who have been through his tragedy. To be this beautiful still, I am not as beautiful as this man and I am without exterior trauma.

To be honest, bro looks good still. Don't know what he's on about. Yeah, he's got a few skin deformations from it but. he looks great.

This guy could get tattoos and cover the burns and no one would even notice, you might be burned but thankfully your face remains normal!
reply

Bummer that you've joined the epidermally challenged (very grim. Awesome that you're transcending those challenges. Cheers!
reply

personally i don't mind scars, but he was pretty lucky to recover so well. he's just a bit wrinkly. happens to everyone eventually. :D
reply

Dude, sorry this happened to you. but you were average looking at best before all this. And you still are hung up by looks.
reply

You can see he was very attractive prior to his accident.
He still is, especially for a burn victim. He is in great shape.

reply

I love this! Not the accident but just the whole recovery and confidence he-s gained. I know it must-ve been hard but God!

I have burn scars on both legs. I got them after I was burn with boiling water by a nanny. I was five back then. -
reply

Ur still beautiful and handsome and I'm not just saying this because of the accident I'm saying this because it's true

- Just a 19 year old guy feeling immortal- after surviving 16000v. You certainly fulfill the criteria at the moment
reply

I don't know how insensitive this might sound but he looks badass. Like a cool bond villain or ravaged action hero
