Wasn't combat archery a welsh practice, not an anglo practice or Norman practice? aren't pre-Edward depictions of archers like Robin Hood and Willikin just anachronism of post-Edwardian writers who wrote at a time practically any commoner in England knew to use a longbow?

Willikin of the Weald is a better name than Robin Hood and you cab fit it in to the Clannad song Robin the hooded man by dismissing that line and replace it with Willikin, Willikin of the Weald. Try it for yourselves.

I thought Ridley Scott's Robin Hood made up the French invasion of England but after watching this video it turns out that it was loosely based on First Baron's War of 1215-17.
