Why could u polish people not just accept to be german (eventhough we share no culture and language) We germans are nice and friendly people (most of the time. Just join the Reich and everything will be fine. :D
It would have made so many things so much easier in the last century. :D
Just joking, glad to have the polish as friends on our side. Polish-German friendship gonna last forever. :) Thankfully with EU all european people can live together in peace.
Also thanks for moving the NATO border eastwards. Before 1990 germany would have been the main (nuclear) battle ground, both sides probably using tactical nukes and going full nuclear. If the cold war would have gotten hot, germany would be a baren nuclear waste land.
So as a german i deeply appreciate it that now mostly Poland will be the main (nuclear) battle ground. Moving the NATO border like 800km eastwards feels good to me.

Very important topic in Polish history is that we, the Poles, tend to ignore nowadays the fact of the Kingdom of Poland even existing despite it being responsible for basically creating Poland from nothing. Official historical narrative is that on 11. 11. 1918 we got independence but for some reason no one asks the question how exactly did it happen, it's like: snap of fingers boom Poland exists now. It's funny in its own way but primarily sad.

Another interesting puppet of Germany was the United Baltic Duchy, a kind of pseudo-Teutonic Order State with a German nobility and consisting of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as having a cool black and white Nordic Cross flag. This state was the successor of another short-lived German puppet state called the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia (not to confused with the earlier Polish vassal of the same name.

The great thing about the brevity of each installment is that the hasty end begets another video. Poland getting all those lands after the war came with additional wars. 11. 11. 18 was not the end of war in the other half of Europe. There were years of nastiness to go, flirts with communism. generally confusing times.

4th time asking. In the 19th century, social, economic & political upheaval in Europe led to mass migration from Ireland, Germany & Italy to the United States.
But the US never saw immigration on the same scale coming from France or Spain, even though both countries went through the same upheavals. Why is that

Poland is a brick st-house now! They've been buying any and all military hardware from the United States and abroad. They have a very potent deterrent to those who would F with them! Poland would be NO joke and certainly NOT a pushover. They came to Play so please Putin F around and Find OUT!

I really don't follow Germany's logic here. If the point of restoring Poland as a puppet state was to use it as a dumping ground for the German Poles, why were there plans to start biting chunks off it later It would've been like they hadn't moved their Poles out of the country at all.

When people try to argue that the Kaiser was a villian, meanwhile his strategy for dealing with rebellious ethnic minorities was give them their own country.
The world would have been a better place had the Kaiser won WWI, or had it never happened.

VIDEO SUGGESTION:
Seeing as The Interwar Poland was formally called 'The Second Polish Republic', what was 'The First Polish Republic' Surely it couldn't have been The Polish-lithuanian Commonwealth, since that was a monarchy; not a republic.

The middle of the biggest war in history and Germany was trying to undermine Austria-Hungary, their closest ally. If you need a snapshot of why WW1 politics are so messy even by the standards of the 20th century, there it is.

Question though at the point the central powers, created Poland, wouldn’t Poland, technically be a part central powers
If that was the case why give them territory.
Also why did they get any territory at all

Germany didn't do anything of the sort. We took our lands ourselves. As we will the rest of the world. Everything you can see, touch, smell, hear, is Polish. Some places or people simply don't realize it yet.

The plan to annex a border strip from Poland wasn’t popular in Germany at the time, and only a few radicals supported the idea, which was already considered nonsense by most of the government

Cool story but it's actually kind of innacurate and leaves out a lot of important information. Y'see the actual reason is James Bizonette is Polish and the Kaiser could no longer contain his power.

Interesting how they were trying to avoid having people in Germany who didn't want to be German at that point. That was what most of the next war was all about.

What is very interesting (and goes unnoticed) is that for centuries Polish - German (HRE) border was probably the most peaceful land border of Poland

The plan to annex the polish strip was only a suggestion and it was never really implemented and i dont think the plan was seriously considered.

I figured it was because the allies weren't about to let Germany keep its conquered territory, but also weren't about to give territory to the soviets.
