First Serbian uprising happened in 1804, and has liberated central Serbia for a few years. The second Serbian uprising in 1815, mentioned here, was a follow-up to it. Get something correct when mentioning Serb historical involvement.
We're not some Bulgaria or Slovenia, the leader of the first Serbian uprising George Petrovich Karageorge was the founder of the royal dynasty of Karageorgievich, which was to liberate the most of the South Slavs, and rule Yugoslavia subsequently. The neighboring monarchies to principality/ kingdom of Serbia/ Yugoslavia had foreign monarchs (German houses.
I do not enjoy writing these complaints, but I enjoy historical disrespect of Serbs even less.

The Ottamans set such a good example as pacific conquerors that they won the confidence of many former Byzantine subjects. For example, when Nicaea fell, Orhan allowed all who wanted to leave the city to depart freely, taking with them their holy relics, but few availed themselves of the chance. No reprisals were taken against those who had resisted, and the city was left to manage its internal affairs under its own municipal government. BOOK: Encyclopaedia of the Ottoman Empire. AUTHOR: Gabor Agoston and Bruce Masters. Edition: 2009 page -109.

what many people don't get is that, despite its size, the Ottoman Empire was a very short incidence in historical perspective: it grew fast and peaked fast but never grew roots: less than two centuries of proper administration, based on the previous Eastern Roman/Greek governance. The rest was gradual disintegration. This video nicely depicts part of this process.

Please correct Mahmud II was the cousin of Selim III and not his brother. He was also the half brother of Mustafa IV. Mahmud was the son of Abdulhamid I while Selim was the son of Mustafa III who was the elder half brother of Abdulhamid I.

If the ottomans were not oppressive genociders and were actually a secular free religion state, they could have survived.
