Bipolar Disorder VS Depression
video description
Ok so I will very slowly go into this phase: I feel super productive, I absolutely love myself, I think Im actually beautiful, I eat good amounts of food, and overall I just feel amazing. But I dont feel crazy or jittery. This whole process is pretty slow and gradual, and the height of it will usually last one day.
Well then I suddenly change. There is nothing that triggers it, but this change happens within a few hours. I hate every bit of myself, I dont want to eat anything, I blame myself for everything I can think of, yknow all that fun stuff. Then I usually push everything away so nobody suspects anything, because thats my worst nightmare. Then anywhere from the next day to one or two weeks later I basically shatter. Thats when i hurt myself. I will try to make myself bleed in one form or another, sometimes bounce around the idea of not living (but never seriously considering it) after that everything slowly goes back to normal.
There is no rhyme or reason to anything whatsoever, which I hate. I just wanna stay at one constant. But I cant have everything now can I.
Anyways, is there something wrong with me or is it perfectly normal? I have a major fear of the unknown, and this is definitely the unknown and I just want an answer.

I am just commenting because Im very lost right now and any type of guidance would be nice. I am someone who from a very young age showed signs of OCD. My parent at 5/6 got me into a thearpiest and got me medicated for it. This medication caused me to hit myself and become extremely easy to isolation. When they took me of the medication at 7 I was told it would all get better. It didnt. At a young age I was a victim of abuse and am still subjected to it within my family (where as it use to be verbal and physical it is just verbal now. I was told growing up that because of my parents divorce that is why I was so quick to change emotions quickly. But I still am very quick to change moods and go from happy to sad and irratable. Sometimes this can happen throughout the week or thoughout a 10 minute period. I am 15 so this could be do to the fact of puberty or starting highschool. But I am very worried because I have exibited this my whole life. I couldnt even tell you why I just do. So I know asking strangers on the internet is drastic but even the little of guidance would really help because I am not getting it from anyone else.

How the heck are you supposed to know then if you just have major depression and adhd? when you come out of the depression, those feelings feel heightened They had me as Bipolar from 16-21 and then after some adverse reactions to some awful antipsychotics I stopped medication for 2 years and I feel way better. The depression came back but it made me wonder if Ive ever actually been manic cause it doesnt seem like it
I am currently working with a new doctor so no worries!

Im going to talk to my doctor this week because for over a year Ive been feeling mood swings, sometimes more than others & recently I spend 1200+ dollars on clothes and things I dont need.
Today I got no sleep, not even last night.
But the night before I slept til 6pm or so.
I will dance and sing and go for a run.
Then Ill just sleep.
So I feel something is wrong.
I am diagnosed with depression, social anxiety and ADD.

I have bipolar, anxiety, and ADHD. My phycologist diagnosed me with both bipolar, and depression. I'm on anxiety medication, and depression medicine. They've seemed to help, the anxiety medication alone didn't help, but I realized that I definitely do not have depression, as I don't get depressive for more than two weeks at a time, at the most it may last a week, and usually it's due to an issue that has occurred that makes me feel that way.

i really font want to self-diagnose, but i really don't know? like, i was diagnosed with clinical depression when i was eleven, but i feel like there's more to it, i guess? like, i have gigantic moodswings, and i can be bubbly and hyperactive and jumpy, and then won't get out of bed, i won't stop crying, i want to die, but i don't want to be presumptuous. i just think i'm overreacting, but can any of y'all help me understand?

I live in Texas and I've been trying to get therapy for a couple of years, but my family can't afford a therapist (I'm under 18. I'm certain that I have severe anxiety and more mental illnesses that I can't have diagnosed by a professional and I need help. If anyone knows about a way to get affordable therapy (charities or other things) let me know, please. It would help a lot, but I haven't found anything.

Co-morbid Mild Motor Tourettes and OCD with my Bipolar 1 disorder. (By the way, OCD is not an adjective! I really hate the way people use it to describe themselves. It really minimizes a debilitating anxiety disorder) Both have faded into the distance but still have Bipolar depression that relapses. Not so much mania thank goodness.

I found out that I was bipolar when I started to use antidepressants and it lead me to maniac episode, so I started to use humor regulators but it lead me to dissociate 24/7, so I started to use antipsychotic as well, but now I don't use medication anymore because it made me feel numb

Can hypnosis or hypnotic subliminal suggestion be used to induce certain disorders in people? Like unlocking certain aspects of the mind to be more susceptible to sounds and words to derive paranoid delusions from. Can mental disorders be weaponized?

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and Ive had depressive episodes now on my early twenties. Im beginning to question whether its clinical depression or bipolar disorder, its hard to tell since hypomania seems so similar to my ADHD symptoms

Living with bipolar rapid cycling and got diagnosed at 21 after getting misdiagnosed with clinical depression in my teens. Fair play they hit the nail on the head with describing the differences enough to differentiate

According to my mother, there are no differences.
Cause' somehow they both mean you're crazy, dangerous, and should be locked up.
It's even more ironic that I have depression.
My life is pure irony.

I have a persistent depressive disorder, and the thing that makes me the saddest, is how many symptoms there are and how much they affect you daily.
Depression is depressing.

A video on how to explain mental illness to children, from a very young age to adult children. My son has seen me struggle his entire life, and still can't comprehend it.

I'm clinically depressed but also take mood stabilizers to ease my unwanted anger. Have not been diagnose as bipolar since I don't have reckless behavior.

So a few people with bipolar type 1 NEVER experience depressive episodes? Theyre just manic all the time? Thats like reverse depression lol
