Im a 19 year old (Black Male) as of June 2nd last month. My last ex and I separated and left me questioning everything, I questioned if girls are even trustworthy, I questioned if Id ever find the capability to love again and trust again.
I started college for the first time during the spring season, I did well in class but mainly focused on trying to rid myself of the memories of my past relationship (my first real relationship.
I met a girl who was extra outgoing (I shouldve seen the possible red flag then. She was kind and everything a good man could ever dream of.
We started hanging out every now and then due to her asking me to come out with friends she had never mentioned until I got in the car, it made me uncomfortable at first but I started to get used to it. After spending sleepless phone calls and car rides with friends together, we confess to each other.
Ever since then its been static. We havent moved forward with things because her ex (who was her friend after their break up) had break down and started badmouthing her over a voicemail which left her confused and emotional. Me being the simp that I am continuously try to help her out, but I always see her taking pictures with everyone but me. She makes an effort to see everyone in person but me. We havent seen each other in person since June 12th and shes always playing around calling other people fine and stuff.
Now I just dont talk as much as I used to, I keep whatever I have to say short because I know to her it doesnt matter, if it ever mattered in the first place. And even more so Im questioning if Ill ever find someone that Ill be able to trust and be able to comfortably say loves me as much as I love them.

I married a man who had been good to me for 8 years, but due to addiction issues and stress from caring for sick family members, he became emotionally abusive.
To be honest, I think he's fed up of me as I'm chronically depressed and anxious (his behaviour did not help, but he's too cowardly to break up with me, so he manipulated me to do the dirty work of initiating the separation. He verbally drove me to the brink of suicide, so I had no other choice but to leave the house.
I admit I was partly at fault for the breakdown of the marriage because I was hard to live with due to my mental illnesses and I called him names when he insulted me, but my ex had insisted to everyone that he's entirely innocent and he's on a smear campaign to make me look like the crazy and greedy ex-wife
He's smart enough to not physically hit me, as that would make him look like the bad guy. He's the golden boy of the family, so obviously I don't think my in-laws believed me.
Starting over was not an easy task as he controlled my finances, but my in-laws and friends stepped up to help me and for that I am eternally grateful. I don't think I want to be in a romantic relationship again, I don't want to be hurt again. Better to be alone than be in a bad relationship.
No, I don't feel jealous of couples. Everybody looks perfect in public and social media, but we don't know what they're actually going through behind closed doors. That used to be me and my ex, we looked so perfect in public that nobody believed that he was abusive when we broke up.

I'm way too introverted, upfront, direct, serious and nice because I don't bother flirting and going out of my way to not be polite is counter-intuitive, a romantic conversation is not that much different to a friendly one to me. I don't enjoy small talk and prefer intellectual / funny (edgy) / productive conversations, that's more of a manly thing.
Also I'm not very attractive or at least my personality is way too complicated and doesn't fit my looks.
Everytime I try to socialize, appear more normal and meet girls I just end up hurting from loneliness and feeling like I wasted precious time and rare energy I could've spent doing something more enjoyable, important or useful to my future.
The rare occassion (like twice a year max) I do meet girls I actually enjoy talking to and vice versa, they're either already in a relationship or not attracted to me, so it ends or stays platonic.
So I just don't really go out of my way anymore to meet new people most of the time.
Maybe I'll meet someone once I become successful at what I do and I'm not the poor creepy quiet guy as much anymore.

1. Yes I am always hoping for perfection and when something just feels off I dont feel right either
2. Yes I cant count the amount of times where I have refused to go to a party or gathering or sports game
3. Yes I have felt it a whole lot lately since a friend group of 3 turned into a relationship and then just me
4. Yes From whats happened to me, my dad, and countless other family members, and how women portray themselves on the internet it feels like this is all I can think.
5. Yes my last three relationships were exactly this, just a hopefully they are secretly my type deal because it was good enough for me
6. Yes ever since the first time I got my heart viciously torn out and spat in my face no one has even gotten close to filling that hole
Damn

I admit, i will forever be a romantic, but at this point in my life, im learning there's no one really out there that can fulfill my internal and external desires and thats okay. Instead of questioing why, ive learned to date myself. There's so much to me i never knew and wouldn't know if there was other energies around me. I'm convinced im here to completely fall in love with myself and the Divine, not in a selfish way, but in a deep, soul path type of mission. It tragically beautiful and I'm proud of who i am today, standing in my full authenticity. On days i yearn for human embrace, i just watch Divorce Court and boy, that brings me back to myself real quickgo and love your own selves people, it'll all be ok.

well, i'm sure that i've given it up. one of the signs might be the jealousy looking at others, another might be that i think, i'm not able for love (don't really had a girlfriend until i hit the 30's. and the last might be a point, where feelings were involved - 'cause i feel being played, at least from one person, who was the one, who asked me for a relationship - and i broke it up 6 weeks later, 'cause it was not as expected (to be fair, it was a long-distance relationship - and i just had talked with that other person via chat or Video-chat, but never in real life. i guess, that - and a basket from the first one i asked in the past, had put me now there where i am.

In my 27th i have never been loved. I have some very good friends, which is enough i am not complaining, but in relationships it doesn't works out. I think whatever i do is not enough and unfortunately in these days there is no cooperation in love. its only one side acting. i have also been bullied about confessing to someone and of course i have trauma because instead of saying thanks you for your interest but no and stay cool they are messing with you and call you freak, ugly, retard and perv because i was mentally trying hard to confess or tell just i like you. It's silly i know but it's true and a bit sad

I'm 27 and I gave up. I'd rather spend my life never knowing what love felt like, instead of spending my life wanting to know, achieving it and quickly losing it.
I don't really even believe that it exists, romantically at least. I don't believe any man could ever love a woman, that's just a personal qualm. They especially would never love me, a woman with borderline personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder.
It's definitely less stressful to stay single, but at the same time, that thought that I've never been loved, it gives me such horrible heartache.

Ill be honest a bit. Im single, and I never had a date in like ever. I also have anxiety, and I always fear for what could possibly go wrong if I made an attempt to try. I have no problems with seeing straight or gay relationships, or any other good romance nowadays, but Im on low income, and I fear that Im far from ready yet to be married. Because of so many obstacles and complications, and because that I am still working on myself, Ifeel like that I should give up on romance myself.
My advice, when you see a chance, dont be afraid to take it; its worth a try.

I am 20, and i totally take responsibility that i am not having any strong connection with anyone. But how to have it when u have never experienced it, when anyone u try to be with always has someone better, special to them. When u can't talk with anyone when there are just two of you, because u fear u might bore them or u aren't interesting enough. When no one has fought to sit with you since class 2, because u weren't having friend. And when grown up, people telling u in face that they have someone more special and don't want your interference.

Love kinda sucks for me, because my first ever relationship screwed me over unimaginably hard, with her and her friends harassing me after we broke up. I have been trying to find a new gf/bf, but they are either not interested in me, or I feel like they arent interested in me. And then when they are interested in me, I can never find the motivation to lower the wall around my feelings to get an actually good relationship out of it. I've just kind of given up on love, no matter how much I want to find that perfect one.

I have crushed on my bestfriend and she knew too, but we conflicted about other things, and she walk away from me. I realise that my false so I text a message to her, but she blocks all of my accounts. Few months gone, I met her yesterday in friend birthday. We didn't talk to, I thought I was got over but not. I find some reasons and escape from the party even rain outside. And previous night is a nightmare to me because a lot of tears. Now I asked myself what I need to do in this relationship or just ignore it like I was.

I saw many people sharing their feelings and experiences. So I also want to share my experience, What I'm facing right now, I'm on my way to give up on love, soon I'll be a single dad I thought she'd be my life partner until the end, but I was wrong
My wife left me because of her big sister told her that she could get another man who more successful than me,
7 years together, having 2 very beautiful children, i can't believe everything was in vain, So I might as well give up on love.

reply

Some of that sign it's true. I want to be love with somebody that truly love me. I'm still searching it. I was confess my love to her, but she reject it. It's real hurt me, and think I'm not good enough. My head is full of negative though. And suicide thought always have in my mind. But, now I try to step back, and think what I can do to be better with myself. I have faith, that someday we will find who real love us. Had a faith.
reply

I don't believe I am designed to ever be in love. I am a great friend, educated, a great person, with a great personality as many people say about me. However, it feels like I failed with love. I don't believe I was made to have true unconditional love with anyone on a romantic level. As I cry accepting this reality of my life, I believe in love for others. just not for me.
reply

Personally, I gave up many years ago because I accepted the harsh fact that there is simply no one out there for me. Im an undesirable and unlikeable anonymous nobody. Im simply undeserving of love. I cant even find a reason to love myself. Why should I? If others are so quick to outcast and alienate me. Well, then maybe the problem is truly with me.
reply

I have no idea what love is. Oh I know what other people say it is, no shortage of experts on how love should feel, look like, sound like. But that's their idea of what love should be. I've never experienced it and at this point never will. I don't know if it would've been wonderful or terrible but it would have been interesting to know love. anyway
reply

There is no real love, just open, transactional, opportunistic, recreational situationships, masquerading as significant relationships and marriages.
Behind the masks are disappointment, resentment, boredom, dishonesty, betrayal and ultimately hatred.
I choose to avoid any element of this delusional waste of my precious lifetime.

reply

I've been coming to the kind of scary realization that I'm that good friend, but no one actually develops feelings for me. Most of my childhood was spent with other boys, I didn't talk to many girls, so all I ever practiced socially was becoming friends, nothing more. That's all I know now, and I think that's coming back to bite me.
reply

Really odd that one of the signs was being jealous of your friends who are in relationships and drifting away from them. I'm happy for my friends who are in happy relationships because I understand that's what makes them happy, but it's not for me. If I were jealous, I feel like that would mean I hadn't given up on love.
reply

I don't believe I can find the right person I like watching romantic movies / series or reading love stories. Love only exists in book and movies for me. I ship ppl just for fun. Love in real life is temporary to me. I imagine myself having a deep relationship with imaginary person and that's a part of my daily routine
reply

I embrace the loneliness because why get into a relationship that will most likely end in heartache? My last girlfriend passed away a year ago and all the relationships before that never lasted more than a year or two. Some people are just not meant to have a significant other but that's the harsh reality of life.
reply

The dating world looks like such a cesspool, men and women have grown very warped views of each other only to stay silent and give up, people overshadowed by prejudice, Giving up is so tempting, even when we know that quitters get nothing in the end, I hope that you have a wonderful day and are doing well

Hello I am 35 still single I never had luck in love I have never had girl or girlfriend in life I am a little affraid of women i respect them butt I am calm, patient person I have a great job and the remaining family and a small farm butt I have hard depression every year thank you god help me to survive
reply

I love you and still you. But I am giving up because I think, someone's else is in your life and I don't want to interfere between you both. I realised, I am not your first priority and I don't want to second priority.
Just ignoring you so that I can forget you.
Sorry for coming in your life.
