5 Signs You're Experiencing Deep Loneliness

5 Signs You're Experiencing Deep Loneliness

Are you lonely? The feeling of loneliness is not the same as being alone. Being alone is a state of being, like living away from friends or family, while loneliness is a feeling. There's a saying that you can feel lonely even when surrounded by people, simply because when you are feeling lonely, you feel disconnected from the people around you. Sometimes, feeling loneliness is also a sign of depression where you just have apathy to almost all things and 'don't care' anymore. Do you think you might be feeling chronic loneliness? June is Pride Month. How many of you will be celebrating?

I know I might be late to say this but I never been this lonely before. I feel like I could express what I feel in this comment section so I will do it. So basically, I never had a real friend who would stay with me till the end. They always leave me after a while and use me only for school stuff. All the people around me were never my true friends and never cared for me, which in fact, back then It didn't matter to me because Im a person that daydreams a lot. I always had those fictional characters in my head that I feel safe to be with. I know that is embarrassing but I had that side of confront. Till 6th grade came and I met a person I never knew I would meet. It happened so unintentionally, like a miracle. She was my first ever best friend. We became friends so random one day because people kept bullying her for being apart from everyone in every way. To me, she is the prettiest girl I ever seen. She was so positive that everytime I saw her, smiled. Of course, people talked behind our backs a lot but we didn't mind. For the first time I imagined my future with her. until 7th grade came and she had to move to Italy because of family problems. The day we went our separate ways was the day I died inside. The person that I planned everything with left me, again. It wasn't her fault but sometimes I blame myself for not appreciating our friendship much as aspected. I was once again in that lonely phase.
PS. She lives a good life there. Everytime I see her posts of her new friends I get flashbacks. She moved on, but I haven't.
Then, because high school was approaching soon, we had to switch schools. I lost all hope I had in friends that I thought maybe there I would finally meet someone that will make me feel like my ex bff had, but not replace her. I had only one friend stick with me after L( won't mention full name) left. She was okay, but I could feel she doesn't like me vary much. The first day I came into high school I met 2 people who eventually became my friends afterwards. The worst thing of all they were bff, and I was the third pig. It passed a year since I met them and that first year was unforgettable for me. We had so much time together (although they had other friends beside me and I was left alone most of the time. At first they didn't trust me, until I accidentally reviled who I had crush on that time. They thought I can be trustworthy since I actually told them a secret. One of them had a vary deep problem, so she opened up to me. I did all in my power I could to help her and that's were our closeness comes. I opened up to them eventually aswell only to. AT THE END BE IGNORED. At the time I'm writing this I already know my future. They will leave me like everyone else. They have been ignoring me for a whole week for no reason. Planning to hang out, telling secrets, hugging, laughing. that made me sick. But what's worse I can't leave them because they are my only friends. I have a big social anxiety. No one wants to talk to me. They are planning to go somewhere once this school finishes and in that close future. Im nowhere to be found. I don't know what happened. Remember that friend I mentioned earlier? I tried to communicate with her but It's obvious she doesn't want to. I feel so attached to them I cry myself to sleep. Then, think of L witch makes me cry even more.
If anyone wants to vent to me please can, or If anyone wants to talk to me you can contact me aswell, because this isn't the end of the story.

Being alone and lonely is an absolutely horrible existence. I suffered a bad lower back injury about fourteen years ago. I went through my family physician, to specialists, and finally to a dedicated back clinic. They sent me for an MRI that showed that I had no disc material left at L5/L5 and my L5/S1. The areas above and below werent far behind. I waited almost two years before I finally got to speak with the Neurosurgeon. He broke the news to my wife and I that I was what is considered non surgical because there wasnt enough sturdy material in my spine to support a surgery. I was completely devastated. For years I had thought that I just had to wait it out until I could have a surgery which I believed would get me back to close to normal. My wife was a registered nurse so she knew exactly what the surgeon saying. She waited an entire eleven days to tell me this; in a very matter of fact tone completely void of emotion. So look, this isnt what I signed up for when we got married. It would be best for all of us if you just move out. This just doesnt work for me.
We have two daughters who were 7 and 5 at the time. Even though my pension benefits and disability brought in close to what I was earning, there would be no more end of year bonuses, company trips, or various other perks my job came with, I still felt like a burden to my family. Even though I had done nothing wrong, I still blamed myself and felt that I was a complete failure. When she said what she did, it completely broke me in every way possible.
I went from being a responsible husband and father to a wife and two children living in a beautiful half million dollar home in a nice neighborhood, to living in a run down dump of an apartment in the bad part of town. Every single day I was in horrible pain of every kind of pain that exists- physical, mental, emotional, and psychological. I often considered eating a buckshot breakfast so that at least my family could have the life insurance. My friends and my own family wanted nothing to do with me; and my kids did not want to see me because of the ratty apartment I lived in.
I had done what I was told to do in life Work hard, be responsible, be the best husband and best father I could be, and yet I found myself living my life like a complete loser who he never accomplished anything in life.
In 2018 I started going to the gym. I was on high dose narcotic pain meds that made me tired all the time. I would sleep a lot, get fatter, lose muscle, be in more pain, take more pain meds, and it was a horrible downward spiral. I was shocked at how physically weak I had become. But I kept at it and rarely missed a day of going to the gym. Today, I still have some physical pain but its not as bad as it was and am in decent shape. Still, without a lot of money and in my early 50s, its difficult to meet new people. So I still find myself lonely and alone and sometimes desperation is my closest friend. Yet I still take things day by day and just keep going.
To those guys out there who thinks their wife nags them a little too much or the kids get on your nerves from time to time; believe me, you have no idea how good youve got it.

PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP RIGHT NOW. I never feel down ever in my life. I'm in college and theres that girl i really like. She is my type. She knows how to pick trustworthy friends. She doesn't hang out with popular fashionable girls because most likely they talk about non-sense stuff and she cannot relate to that because she is a simple girl, that's why I reaaally adore her.
One time I decided to make a move. However, my mental health isn't doing well thesedays so i sucked conversing with her.
She ended up thinking that I have a mental disorder. There was a time that while I am talking to her, she intentionally yawns to show me that she doesn't care about what im talking about.
The day after, Im really puzzled on how she feels about me. Since first day of college, she gives me mixed signals.
So I decided to tell her that I like her. And as expected, she rejected me, saying Im focusing on my studies, lets see to it next year.
But obviously, she doesnt really mean to say lets see to it next year thats just to not completely hurt my feelings tho.
Fast forward today, I just recently saw her together with her friends, having fun, laughing. Thats when i ask myself on why i am a boring and non-sense person with poor social skills.
Im thinking about dropping out from college because its only the first month but im really dead inside and has zero courage to continue, especially my crush is in the same class with me. So i feel the pain everyday.
Also, i notice that after all of these happened, she always do a REALLY STRONG eye contact to me whenever I go close to her. And one time she even said bye to me after class.
I feel like she's playing with my feelings and want me to not get over from her and suffer more mind games.
PLEASE i need an advice im really going through tough days right now. I really appreciate you.

My personal experience:
1. I feel lonely even though I know many people, and spend time around them.
2. I feel as if I cant connect with anyone, no matter what I do.
3. I dont think anybody could ever like or think highly of me.
4. Ive developed a deep sense of distrust for people. People who I actually got close enough to ended up leaving, so Ive decided to stop even trying.
5. People who Ive hung out with before have drifted away. Ive tried to make plans only for them to say theyre busy, and then go out with other people to hang out.
6. I no longer actively seek companionship, and have no desire to contact anyone I have known after I go out into the world.
7. I have no confidence in myself or my abilities.
8. Ive developed deep senses of resentment for those who do have the social confidence and social life that I dont have, but I dont want to feel this way
9. Anybody who does show an interest in me, I usually end up pushing away because Im afraid of what could happen, and dont believe myself to be deserving of social connections.
10. I hate people telling me that its temporary or that Im being over emotional. Ive felt this way since 3rd grade, and Im almost off to college. Its not temporary for me, and it never will be.
These are my personal experiences, and I dont plan on trying to make friends or build meaningful relationships in the future.

I was thinking on getting a mannequin and dressing it up, for a friend to talk with. It might work! Remember Mr. Wilson on the movie Castaway, with Tom Hanks. There was another movie also, a man locked in a room for 20 yrs. He drew a face on a pillow with his own blood. Seriously talking to your self is a sanity saver! Why not add a mannequin. I need some one to relate to, and who shares a few common interests, along with a walk, cup of tea, or sitting on the porch talking. Simple, but so rare to find. There are not many who like to talk about deep things. They are shallow, gossipers, talking about winning money, smoking, empty promising, lying, dreamers. watching too much t. v, internet, etc. Talking on you tube prooves how lonely I am! Lol! No one really cares! this will not fix nothing! I feel like I have friends, then realize how much I really don't. Maybe the internet is a downer. I should leave it alone for awhile. Did I just sabotage myself? Lol! Really, I am not a mean person, just so alone!

As a kid, I used to be extremely attached to objects, I even cried when I knew my parents were going to throw out our old fridge, the last few days I was even make speeches to say goodbye to it
The last part of the video. touched me deeply
I'm attached to this group of friends that lives 'bout 1 hour of train from me, I consider them as the closest friends I have and I always try to not let myself being too clingy, even if the cost is to have to wait so much to see them (and now is worse because due to some circumstances, we'll not be able to even know when we can see each other, making me difficult to not ask too frequently when they're gonna be free) and I always had difficulties in socializing in real life, even today I consider a miracle I know them.

I have a couple friends in the same town as me, weve been friends for years, they tell me they feel lonely, I stop asking to hangout because they say theyd rather be home or cancel last minute because theyre tired or not feeling good, but still have the nerve to tell me how sad and lonely they feel when Im the one having to say Dont worry about it every time they decline to wanna hangout or even talk on the phone, unless they ask to call on a special occasion when they need to vent about a situation that they dont believe can be fixed. Where has that led me? Overthinking, low hopes for relationships, and bad thoughts, and getting on here to see if anyone else could relate and find out if theres something wrong happening to me.

But I haven't been able to you know hang out with anybody that we all loneliness bless you Everlasting NeverEnding prayers though. I may not be too overly religious but I do try to pray for people if that helps also and helping me. Not for someone that wants to keep track of whatever I'm doing online not to judge for whatever actions they seem to think to blame me for not tierd being what wanting me to be. Sometimes I don't mind being alone but not all the time. To do with my account you're telling me to leave you alone but you're bothering me when I'm not bothering you like that

This helped me a lot. I feel weird and creepy for golluming and I've been wondering why I gollum whenever I make any connection to someone. I've spent my entire life sheltered and it's even harder to make real life connections now that I'm older. I tell myself to be myself, but when I feel accepted I get excited and gollum. and people either distance themselves or I panic and distance myself first.
Anyway, I didn't know that this could be attributed to loneliness. It makes me really happy to have a possible explanation.

I live in a city that's very anti-mental-health so not only do I get jeered at and asked to leave places because I stand out despite being silent and minding my own business, but it's also the only place I can afford to live as I'm with family and on disability. Have actually had neighbors complain to me that I live near them as they specifically cite this neighborhood as being otherwise clear of filth
Hard to connect when you're less than human to everyone else

I think I might have this? I often don't feel like I can't talk to people and can't relate to them, I won't go into a lot of detail but I came from a terrible relationship and as far as I know of, I'm the only kid my dad had. My siblings all had their half siblings and dad's to relate to but I was the only one and over half of my family doesn't really talk to me because of it. Nobody else I talk to understands and I always feel like I'm alone against the world.

In anthropomorphizing inanimate objects, sometimes I scold objects for falling to the floor. I'm always overprotective of my things, as not to lose them.
I'm not an impulsive buyer or a hoarder. If I'm buying something for myself to keep, it's something I know I'll use regularly.
Once I stubbed my toe and nursed it back to health as if I were a mature parent comforting a child in shock and pain, dialoguing with myself.

The first one is never about loniness, to take a Jorden Peterson influence, Love and connection, safety and trust. the most simplest of connections can fill that void.
But without trust or a reliability of consistency, not many bite these days.
It's psychology but it's not applicable to move forward. only to take a best shot. of change and eleviation of stress, benevolent behaviour and a forever negative cascade

No, I have plenty of friends. I feel alone because, it feels as if I lost my partner on the way. My company, my dear my love. Was here with me but now gone. And no other friend or group can fill that void. That's why this feeling always come back to me. It's a call for search. I need him, I miss him but I don't even remember it. Eternal search for that friend, lover. I miss you.

I felt 5th one, I feel like I'm obsessed with my friends and felt jealous easily if they hangout without asking me. But those thoughts are weird and I don't want to be a creep so I push all those thoughts away. And the result are always to leave my friends in the end.
I'm just afraid this feeling would grow and became worse

I have a great life, a great family and great friends, but Im feeling more miserable by the day to the point where I dream of having someone there for me. Theres nothing really wrong but somethings missing. All I need now is a person who gets me, who can make me happy. Just one text every few mornings can make my entire week.

My loneliness is an indicator that I am doing all I can to protect myself from the cruelty, lies, hypocrisy, abuse, of others. Most people are not true friends. If I am lonely, I have none of them in my life. Loneliness is a powerful indicator of how well I am doing to avoid the abuse of others.

How the heck do you not do #5/ how do you have a good healthy friend ship? I've always had it where I make a friend and I don't think I'm being super clingy or anything. But I just want to make sure they are okay and safe, as well as I want to hang out.

The loneliest moment in someones life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly. Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.

For humans not to feel lonely they need two things: a one friend and a romantic partner. To not feel isolated they also need regular positive social interaction. Many people cannot obtain any of these.

I can definitely relate especially to the online spending. I noticed I buy things that I can live without but I get a satisfying feeling in ordering things and waiting on them to come in the mail.
