Ive been building a business nonstop for a over year, and the only break Ive had is leaving overnight to fly out of state when my 19 year old daughter had emergency brain surgery. I stayed & helped her recover for 2 months and tried to come home and get back at it. but I started to get sick, a lot. and for long periods of time.
In addition to this, I made a thousand mile move, became an instant empty nester in the process, and ended a stressful relationship during this time period. My stomach always feels nauseous and I can barely make myself get out of bed to go work on finishing the air bnb (Im physically building the rental cabin as well) My passion for my dreams seem to have disappeared from my emotional/soul memory and I cant find the drive to complete my goals. It is nothing less than devastating.
Please take good care of yourselves, pace yourselves and try to recognize that being a high achiever requires an equally high level of self care that cannot be sacrificed without dire, long term consequences

I used to love band, but Ive been choosing to play less and less because it just doesnt feel right anymore.
Im one who loves school, and my work has been decreasing in quality. Anyone who knows me knows I would do nearly anything to be at school, but recently Ive just wanted to stay home. (I havent been, obviously.
Ive been withdrawing from social situations, especially my best friend since weve recently had an incident where they caught me attempting to do something bad to myself.
Im constantly tired and wanting to sleep, but I dont think thats entirely irregular for someone my age.
But knowing (parts) of myself, its likely Im not going to do much, if anything, to help myself get through this. I would take some time off school if that wouldnt stress me out so much or I didnt care about my grades.
Point is, dont do what Im doing. Please take care of yourself, you matter. :)

I have golden handcuffs. While I live below my means, I can't find a job that pays reasonable enough. It seems the least amount I need to get paid is still too high over the average rate in my area. So I either take a job and have to seriously cut my lifestyle (that can be extremely stressful) and go without insurance etc, or I have to stay where I am at and suffer. Not sure what to do as I have a family to care for and a certain level to live by (I'm debt free and such, again, the minimum income I need to keep my current lifestyle doesn't seem to exist and everything is far below that standard in my area. The wick is getting shorter and shorter by the day.

I have been experiencing burnout for about 7 months by now even so much for a period of time that I cried several times every day in school and couldnt complete any of my work. I have always been the type to always do my best and usually got great results but now heh not so much. Its starting to irritate me a lot cuz I know I can do better and my graduation from my first school is only half a year away. I have been trying to meditate and have some weeks not doing any homework but it just keeps coming back. Do you guys struggle with the same? Do any of you know if its something that I should expect to go away with time and do you guys have any tips?

I feel like Im sinking and there is no escape from it constant nights and days of just starring at the ways questioning why I am so tired. I feel like I can never concentrate Im always in my head. I never able to do homework because by the time I get home Im just too tired, my grades are dropping and I do not feel like doing anything anymore. Its so hard to daily tasks, I have to force myself to do them. I feel stressed an like I do everything wrong. I never feel like getting out of bed anymore Im always on my phone or sleeping for hours as a excuse so I do not have to anything. I am not hungry anymore, I am not happy anymore and I hate myself.

Im at a point where i am deep in burnout, i've noticed that ive slowly become less motivated over the past year or so, i have exams in a few weeks big ones and im at the lowest point for motivation -everyone expects me to do well and it just makes me feel guilty i am constantly tired, everyone expects me to live up to the standards i set from the age of 8, im now 16 and cant see how i can get my head in gear for my exams, i know that if i dont my mental health will only get worse as i fear failure, so im stuck i cannot afford to take a break

Only if my burnouts were from stress. I'm masking ALL THE TIME and when I need to rest, I just stop going to school, cause that's the only way. It usually takes 3-4 days and I'm back with new motivation out of nowhere. And now I'm dealing with that sht (it's soooo regular, I can't) but I'm getting back to normal, but today my dad kinda yelled at me for not going to school and I felt worse because of that, cause masking is not what I wanna do at home too, AHHHH

Watching this video really makes me cry. I have been going through a really tough time and all the burnt-out syndromes just start to come up.
Moving overseas, several losses, academic stress, and family relationship are really affecting my well-being and the worth part is that my parents don't even stand in my shoes to understand why I feel this, they just complain.

Since it's the finals, I feel overwhelmed with life and workload ahead of me. I only have a couple of days left to finish everything (modules, researches, and others, it's either I do everything or do nothing. My mental health is slowly deteriorating, and I can't even get any proper rest. I'm just hoping for all of this pay off.

Im so burnt out that I just want my life to end. Im not saying that I'm at harm to myself, but death sounds so peaceful, and I hate having this mindset. I'm just tried of the stress, I'm tired of everything. I just want to sleep eternally and never have to deal with these negative emotions ever again. Im so. tired.

Since lately, it has been very hard for me to function academically even on simple tasks. I feel so upset and angry at myself because I just feel like I'm not trying hard enough. It's like I am barely completing my assignments at a good standard and I don't know how to get out. I'll pray and trust God.

I'm studying a degree in Criminology and Forensic science and I'm heading into my final year, I work 9 hour days with no breaks and it's I have really noticed that isn't a good idea. Thankfully, I got burn out in my final 2 days of this semester and now have a 6 week break: )

Great video Psych2go, it explained burnout very well. I honestly don't know how to deal with burnout and I always struggle with trying to fight through it or just shutting down until it goes away, but I'm not very happy with either of those options

What happens if I feel burnout a lot and because of me failing biology and Spanish and now taking summer school and drivers Ed and feel way too tired and just want to watch my shows and play my games and want to build for my hobby to relax

After a full year of high stress, I am burnt out. My white blood cells have decreased below the minimum threshold because of such stress. I wake up and I feel exhausted, as if I hadn't slept at all. Let's see what doctors suggest
reply

Or look for ways to alleviate the stress in your life. Burn out comes when you Stent in your life path. Where you are allowing the daily struggle to take control over your mindset.
reply

so you're telling me purposefully ignoring close friend's texts and invitations just to stare at my wall in my room piled in yogurt cups and trash for 8 hours ISN'T being lazy

I never work nor study that much. I only get stress from my parents when they just keep saying bad things about me but why does this sign show up what i have these few years?
reply

I'm not even a workaholic, but ever since I graduated high school I've been feeling this way. And no amount of time has changed this, if anything it's only getting worse.
