5 Simple Psychology Tricks To Influence Others Blanqui: 1: 27 damn I didn't know I did this without knowing it, all my friends are suicidal, except 2 but 1 of then is annoying (not even being rude) and not a friend, she just happens to hang out with the ppl I didn't, and the other doesn't hurt herself and stuff. My bestie is suicidal and has cuts anywhere in her body bc wrists aren't enough. But she's trying to stop! And she has! She's done very good in the past weeks by not hurting herself, and a few days ago she got sad and cried bc our friends hid things from her trying to protect her, and I listened closely (we were with the school councilor so I wasn't the main speaker) and when the teacher left I repeated what she said and added some advice of my own and/or the times I also saw our friends hiding things which made her open up more and that's why we're closer than glue! Much. Much. Closer. Even closer than her and her significant other, we're also very distant cousins but we're mainly besties

Antidote- set boundaries and be clear about your outcome in advance, say no to big and small request if appropriate. Deliberately do small unusual things if you think someone is mirroring you, Move your head from side to side if you see one nodding. Dont commit to any decision when in a compromised state. Be hyper aware of unscrupulous people attempting to shape your behaviour for their benefit.

was not aware of the 'door in the face' technique. the head nodding or the asking for a favor when a person is tired.
it's important to understand psychology for both it's advantages and disadvantages--such as knowing how to deal with marketing scams, weird partners and devious politicians (to name a few.

Hey this is completely unrelated to the video but I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was never going to confess to my crush but then I watched one of your videos where you said to just go for it and so I did! Just a few hours ago we have established that we're dating! Seriously thank you so so much.

I am not sure that reflective listening, nodding and mirroring are ways to influence people. rather, I see them as ways to create positive relationships. As for asking for something big, then something smaller, surely this is an old negotiation technique.

Hope this helped: D

As an INFJ highly sensitive person, I naturally do reflective listening and mirroring without even consciously thinking of it. I already have two beautiful goldfish, I'd like a pure black cat.

Maybe have a disclaimer about this vid. Its pretty irresponsible to teach manipulation tactics without also talking about the misuse of the advice in thia vid

Reflective Listening works great when you talk to kids. For what I have experienced it's an easy way to make a child feel heard and to bond with them.

the last one always works for me! when i ask my brother can i use your monkey pajamas? he says no but when he just woke up he says yes
reply

Door In The Face. I learned that from my Grandma.
She's really good at it, especially when we're going to the market www

1: 22 A few weeks ago I realized that I do this a lot and called it training to understand things. Had no idea that this had a name.
reply

Isnt it a bit cruel to trick someone into doing something while they are tired? That could bend the bond you have with them, right?
reply

I suffer with chronic fatigue, people are constantly trying to tke advantage of my tiredness to get me to do things, it sucks.
reply

Lmao I always repeat what someone says ta me. Ya sometimes I feel tired & can't fall asleep or wake up at 3 or 4 am
reply

Yeah. sighs heavily, how many parents give into their kids favors/requests when the parents are tired, huh? Not so many.

I thought I would learn something new but it turns out, its just a review from my social and clinical psych courses

Isn't this already a second video with the same tricks? Interesting vid but do you have any new tricks to share?
