Another thing I'd like to add is Don't be very egoistic with your partner Self-importance is good and all but in a relationship, if you don't keep your ego in check, it can really harm the way your partner looks at you and the relationship you have with them.
Communication is the key and loving someone is not an easy task at all. So, while having your own interests you should also think about and discuss your partner's interests as well.
Adjust if necessary, but only if reasonable, and don't make demands or orders but rather give an explanation.
_For example, if your partner requests you to not talk to one of your colleagues and gives you some reasonable explanation behind such a request, maybe they are toxic and they can see it while you can't, etc, and perhaps some proof or statements to go along to back up their claims, you should at the very least consider that request. Your partner, in this case, is not trying to change the way you live but to protect you from any negativity. _
But if your partner, instead of requesting, demands you to stop interacting with someone without giving an explanation behind it, then it's most likely that they are jealous or toxic.
And though I'm not trying to indicate it means you should break up, you should definitely talk things out and set boundaries. If you can't talk to them then talk to the next person you trust the most and who can understand your situation.
_P. S. - Yes, speaking from experience. _

So I have a question, I'm not entirely extroverted or introverted but I enjoy being able to be left to my own devices every once in a while and I have let my girlfriend know that. I make an active effort to texting and messaging her back when I'm not with her because I know that's what she likes even though I feel like we go around in circles and talk about the same thing over and over again just for the sake of talking even though I don't really enjoy it sometimes. On occasion I don't know what to say and/or I just feel mentally fatigued because I feel like it's an obligation since she indirectly tries to make me feel guilty for not being 100% available when she wants it. Is there a way I can approach this topic to make her understand that I love her but I need to breathe or am I wrong in some way?

my boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for three months now and its been tough for me, especially with the jealousy part. its not that I dont trust him, its actually the opposite. its more of the his friends can hang out with him more than I and me comparing myself to his female friends constantly, especially when I think theyre pretty. since i am diagnosed with asd, sometimes i get overly sensitive, overanalyze and misinterpret things he says or does, which is quite annoying and exhausting for both parties. but just as he has his flaws, so do i and its more of an internal conflict I have with myself rather than I have with him. i guess strengthening my self esteem will ultimately improve our relationship quality. one thing hes good at is making me feel good about myself; )

My ex was constantly comparing me to the other people she had dated in the past almost everything I did would be met with oh your just like. ' or. was better at that and she would continuously bring up how horrible they where as people,
By 6 months in to the relationship I was afraid to do or say anything in front of her, when I started withdrawing myself from conversation and spending more time at work to avoid feeling uncomfortable at home she told everyone we knew that I was cheating on her and having relationships with my under age staff. Most of them knew what she was doing but she convinced enough that it made my life hell until every found out she had been seeing 2 other guys for the entire time we where together and one of them was a guy she was comparing me to.

Back when I was unhealthy mentally and didnt know red flags in relationships, Ill admit me AND my past partners did most of these things. I knew stuff was off but I want quite sure what I was doing or one of my partners were doing. I talked to some people I trusted and they gave me advice and I understood what they did and it hurt me. Now that Im 50% more healthier than I used to be, Im doing kind of better in my current relationship except I am noticing he and me are doing things wrong still. I will try to improve daily but it takes time to build up a healthy relationship fully.

This is a reason people don't trust chicks who take psychology.
Psychology isn't a proper science like chemistry or Mathematics, it's the science of Trying to understand the mind where in people tend to end up with outliers for different tests, especially those that have two choices, people seem to forget psychology isn't a science that'll tell you everything, instead of a study on the inner workings of the mind and not a astronomy-sign, pseudo-intellectual, take on who's bad or who's good

Not sure if that's a separate thing from these here, but _the_ absolute downer for me was a constant assumption of bad intend. Like I'm doing this and that because I'd _want_ to cheat, or because I'd be planning to make them look bad, or I'd not get off from work because I'd want to ruin a holiday trip, etc.
Really didn't know what to do about that.

My partner has told me a couple of occasions that if I ever cheated on him, he would fcking kill me. I've asked him to not speak to me that way and he claims that it's just a figure of speech and is in no way a verbal threat. I don't know it's that him allowing jealously to take over, but it certainly makes me uncomfortable.

Ive noticed that my partner has been lying to me a lot and I know that because there not very good at lying or Im just really good at recognizing it because they lie to me 3-6 every time we talk and this video was helpful because it helped me realize that their doing a lot more then just lying to me

My ex used to always bring up her exs to me. Generally not comparing me, and if it was it was just saying how much better I was. Still kind of a turn off to me. Unless youre discussing your dating history with your current partner, constantly bringing up your exs is weird.

The one when it says about talking negative things about yourself I do that a lot and I just feel soo bad for myself and my bf I just feel like I'm a idiot of saying bad things all the time and I cry at that it just breaks me down and I feel like I'm useless.

for me, the problem i have is my partner always seeing me as a perfect person, not being able to make a single mistake. not only did i feel i had to make sure not to make a mistake it was frustrating because i wanted them to see the me that wasnt perfect

Your partner saying something hurtful about how you look then saying only joking, but you know they're not joking.
They try and make you believe they're only joking so they can get away with it! Then they do it even more!

if u were in the relationship, put your all with that. If u love then u gain love, if u hate then u gain that back. if u ruin other's life then karma. hmmmmmm.
in the end, YOU'LL SEE ALL U'VE NEVER EXPECTED!

reply

I agree with if your partner comments on your looks in a negative way, but would also say if your partner doesnt complement you ever - especially when its obvious af that youve made an effort to look nice/dress up

It kinda helped me, but I just realised that im not the problem, they are the problem. I do all these things to get their attention and They are doing absolutly nothing. It really makes sad to realite that.

Number 8: Not putting in any effort. All relationships thrive on effort, so if you make your partner feel like they are the ones putting in all the effort, they will eventually give up.
