So uhhh. This is technically very personal information that I am just going to throw out there, but eh who cares, all heil rational inquiry:
For a long time I have been stuck in a masturbation addiction, of which I am now, thanks to the grace of God, (mostly) free from. At least it's a whole order of magnitude better I guess. The thing is, this addiction was always fueled by thoughts of transitioning, rather than by lust or prnography or something like that.
My lead theory is that these thoughts of transitioning were disturbing me into triggering the biological reactions, as I do not think I genuinely want it, it feels more akin to intrusive thoughts in the same way that jump was an intrusive thought I had when at the Grand Canyon back in 2019. I would rather die than transitio; switching gender would be suicide of my identity. I do however deeply fear the theoretical of switching and then not wanting to go back. I have no clue whether there is some truth to that fear or whether it's just pure paranoia, one could make quite a strong case for both possibilities, so jumping to conclusions is probably suboptimal. In practice though, by all objective measures I would absolutely hate being a girl, and I don't feel dysphoric or unsatisfied about being a boy either. I do feel a bit dysphoric about being a human in general, regardless of gender, but that is its whole separate thing. In whichever case the practical refutal of the desire to switch gender never stopped the thoughts from coming. The desire also seems to purely correlate to my Se-inferior function, while Ni-Dom and Te-Auxiliary are moderately against it, and Fi-Tertiary would rather die than do it, so at least in MBTI theory, even if some part of me genuinely does want it, that part is likely to be the minority, while the rest, including my sense of identity (Fi-Tertiary, is highly opposed to it.
I have as of lately come to the conclusion that I most likely have OCD, and that is for multiple reasons, not just this one. I am also already diagnosed with autism and ADHD, and am also a Christian INTJ 5w4.
I do not know how well my experiences on this lines up with the experiences of others, nor do I know what this all actually means. It would be good to know what other people think and if anyone can relate to this, as I have genuinely no clue about however this may relate to reality, I haven't really been comfortable with sharing this before.

The thing that has been running through my mind lately is I should just quit and move in an area that no one knows me. I have been getting a lot of people who doesn't know the situation I am in and express an opinion that doesn't fit the situation. For example I am trying to lose weight but I have medical issues that prevent it. They say eat less I already half what I eat and nothing helped. I actually gained a little bit. I guess I can cut from 3 meals a day with no snacks including healthy snacks. I guess I can eat breakfast and lunch to start. My lunch time is at 1 pm. If that don't work I will eat breakfast only to see if that helps the situation if not I guess a couple days don't eat to see from there. I started to lose weight and have had a stressful year since March. It hasn't let up. I am told don't do that just eat less or I am blowing it out of proportion or lying about what is going on. I already stopped going to therapy to save money to catch up on bills and still get told to go back but don't spend to much. I don't go out and am told your in your mid 30s go out. I go out and told pay bills. I know it just makes the anxiety worse and depression spiral then get to stimulated the shut down with emotional detachment. I know the patterns I have but feel like I am not taken seriously by most. I am thinking of going to a cruise ship to work 3 months at a time then on shore leave which is 2 weeks spend it at a hotel near by and go back. I heard of a job opportunity in Japans tourism industry which I am thinking of looking into. At least then I will be just focusing on myself. I already work myself to death but at least I want a change of pace. Maybe getting away from the chaos is what is best. Change my number and go away from the people who use me when needed or don't care enough to see the struggle and suffering I go through

Idk where to leave a comment so I just choose this recent video. I'm new here, and thank you sm. your videos are excellent and it helps me alot.
So I want to share smth about how I feel these past days and right now.
I've been struggling to interact with people and I get annoyed when there are too many people. I went to the counsellor and after that I feel a bit better. but now it comes again. i hate when people told me to do this or that I just really, i don't want them to say anything I just want to do wht I want and like. im just forcing myself to interact with my friends or family, all I want now is to be alone. but uk it's just hard to do so. sometimes i feel like I hate people and myself, and when I get annoyed sometimes I bite myself just to control myself from shedding tears. woa I feel like a crazy. idk how do I feel, idk what did I went through which made me to be like this. and one thing I used to assume is that, maybe since these past years I've been bottling everything, i don't want to show that i was not feeling okay, and now it's just unbearable. I feel like a bad person. .mhm idk how to explain well but. I hope you'll help me with this and if there's any videos you've made about this please let me know. Thank you
EDIT: And one thing i wnt to share, mhmm, I like when I see bruises on my skin. ik it sounds weird, but I want to change and idk why do I feel like this too. it's been like 4 or 5 years that ive been like this. I feel ashamed about this. and sometimes I like to hurt myself purposely. And idk how to tell my family, because I'm scared and doubt they'll understand. since i did once (it's about another thing) when I was a child, but instead I got scold and my stepfather was about to hit me because of that and my mother just stay silence and it seems like she ignore about it.

So, just to make sure I get it right (because for some reason I'm still a bit confused);
Thoughts that come without one's choice are thoughts that simply show how the brain reacts to something, or acts on its own. Such thoughts come before conscious decision making, therefore they cannot be avoided by force. In fact, any such attempts makes one think about these thoughts even more, which makes them even harder to deal with. But this is fine, specifically because if one simply accepts that they exist and moves on without focusing on them, they just fade away without doing anything. And also because they can't define who one is since one didn't choose to have them. A personality is designed by decisions, not just thoughts. So intrusive thoughts can be compared to something like small fluctuations on a line.
But what if it's consistent
And isn't personality itself also formed in the same brain that generates the intrusive thoughts What does that imply
That aside, I have an idea for another topic, but it's a bit hard to put it into words precisely:
Does anyone else here know that feeling when. you see some other people happily talking with each other (completely unrelated to you) from aside, or you're inside a friend group and you speak but no one responds at the time being, or someone talks about their progress in something or about a genuinely good purpose (for example, of helping other people) and you silently feel resentful, lonely, rejected or ignored Or when you think about a normal, healthy progress in life and feel resentful about the challenge I'm trying to understand exactly what this is, but it's complicated.

Is it still an intrusive thought if you succumb to them In short I was dealing with nighttime bad thoughts (like intense negative self-talk) and every time I tried to push back against it that just made it stronger. Eventually it was almost all I could think about so out of desperation I accepted that all those things were true and funneled that pain into anger for the people and the world that made me that way. That lead to increasingly intense fantasizing of harming people to get back at the world that hated me and that I hated back. I eventually snapped out of it and somehow just like that all the pain was gone and I was numb. I also became intensely disgusted with some of the forms of harm I imagined doing to people and the fact that I had felt good about doing it. It mostly sucks now as I realized what I was becoming and ended all meaningful relationships I had with people because even during those evil thought exercises part of me abhorred actually doing that harm to the people who I cared for and cared about me so I did the only thing I could to guarantee I couldn't actualize those thoughts and isolated myself. To this day I still keep my distance emotionally and mentally from people because I can't trust myself to not do that again and I'm still to ashamed to try and repair any of the relationships I deliberately destroyed by disappearing from their lives.

This is so relatable! For the past couple of years, following a series of sudden panic attacks, I've been having these extremely intense and convincing intrusive thoughts come over me every now and then. While they have become much easier to deal with recently, I still sometimes have these thoughts show up while I'm just trying to enjoy and/or get through my day and it can truly make me feel like my brain is turning against me and that I'm going to die. It's one of the most terrifying things imaginable and even reminding myself of what I've learned about the human brain, why it does weird things sometimes and that it's fundamentally built to protect me doesn't always help me settle down in the middle of an anxiety spike.

Your videos really are a safe space and validating for me. I've genuinely struggled with debilitating intrusive thoughts for as long as I can remeber now.
They've affected my daily routine, and make me sensitive to basic stuff like going outside, light, loud noises, and get worse when I'm stressed or upset. I've always tried to silence or find a way to find them but yeah, that always makes them come back stronger the next time there's a trigger. I think overall, what you said was very right, not associating those thoughts as part of your identity and understanding that you don't have control over, and so it isn't your fault what your brain decides to think sometimes, is best.

Wow! This hit hard. But, in a good way. I have OCD but never really understood what it did. I have intrusive thoughts regarding my past pretty regularly that I’d rather avoid. And it’s become a habit to just respond by internally shouting at the thought to go away. And surprisingly, it works. It’s become a bit of a habit. I tell it to go away, I laugh, and then things returned to their usual pace. Of course, things aren’t always like that. There are times where I get these sudden urges that I can’t help but focus on and I feel like it’s the end of the world if I don’t find a solution. But, this video helped to shine a lot of light on that. Thanks a bunch, Psych2Go!

Also, Thanks a lot for support. SInce the release of your last video abt doomscrolling, I havent doomscrolled yet. thats like 4 days now. Some days were painfull to deal with.
Such an amazing chanell, I hope you are doing good, even if it doesnt seem like it. Thats all for now, Bye. :3

Is it the same I'm Filipino so my English is awful but I hope you understand. I don't know what I feel and it's suffocating too. I don't know why. It's been this for 5-6 months. I don't know why it's empty it's irritating. I'm not sad it's just empty like nothing feels enjoyable. I can't put my fingers to it and I can't express it because I don't understand it myself and it bacame harder to express because I'm a boy. And I'm so afraid that I would be judged. I don't know what is happening to me. Is it just the same as this one I don't know. But it was perfect timing too.

Can you make a video on a person (friend or unwanted friend) who always wants to make your life a living Hell like their life depends on it
Just bc the person who they are backbiting about likes theirs crush that never really know them it's much like a love in first sight to them
And now is their bf
And the person is also better in studies than them even after having a bf
What should the victim do(Help me)
Please I really want this
I can't deal with my life like this every single day now. I'm genuinely begging you people

0: 25 is the exact sentence my brain goes to: Is something wrong with me Radomsky and colleagues (2014) asked people on six continents about unwanted intrusive thoughts, and about 94% had at least one in the past three months. So the thought itself is close to universal. What differs is how much weight we give it, which is the thought-action fusion at 1: 43. I think quiet, inward people get hit harder because we replay things instead of saying them out loud. Did anyone else feel lighter just hearing it has a name

Ocd is often stereotyped and known for only contamination and needing everything to be perfect.
What people don't know is the ones that affect you're thoughts. I didn't know that, I didn't know OCD thoroughly. So I genuinely believe I'm a horrible person who hurt's people.
Which affected all my friendships causing me to make impulsive decisions like ending the friendships. I just didn't know at the time that some thoughts don't define you're entire identity. I known it too late once I lost everything.

These videos are so helpful and I enjoy learning about mental health stuff. Ive been struggling with intrusive thoughts in this adversity Ive been fighting since January 2024. They can get intense and try my best to wait patiently til it passes and just label it as intrusive. Music helps at times to decrease it. It could just be because Ive been under a lot of stress. So much has been going on 2024, 2025, and 2026 for me. So no wonder my brain is overwhelmed and all over the place and my nervous system.

hey, i know this is unrelated to the video, i'm just asking, can you guys do a video about how it feels like there's something you need to talk about with yourself, but in the end, the act of talking to yourself is just very tiring, like not having the energy to do that, i'm the kind of the person who always talk to myself whether it's from a voice record or video record to regulate myself, but for a long time, it doesn't work anymore, if you guys have any insights about this, help.

I just dive through those thoughts. I guess I got used to those electric spiky ones like that.
But then there are some brain cells that are always picking up some pebbles and placing them in my boots, but I guess I may just melt them away by just sleeping longer periods for a change.
Still I may blabber about some random things that may just go close by but I may still just let them go.
I guess that's how I learned to skip the rope freely. Any time and place.

I was 17, my final year of High School, suddenly intrusive thoughts started bombarding my head, thoughts of pain and suffering of the worst kind, this was very disturbing, but I vowed to take it to the grave, lest I infect someone else with this horrific ordeal. Time has demonstrated that these thoughts are not a report card for reality nor my character nor my worth. Nothing can dim the light of my love.

The reframing of meditation as a muscle you build over time rather than a quick fix really resonated with me. One strategy that helps me when my mind feels cluttered is the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique naming things I can see, hear, and feel pulls me out of rumination almost immediately. Thanks for grounding this in actual research instead of just saying think positive.

Hang in there guys, with the holidays coming up, and things only becoming more expensive, yes, it can put a lot of stress on someone. Especially if you deal with seasonal depression. Try to stay positive, and appreciate what you have, when days feel rough, reflect on how far you’ve came, no matter what just try to end by doing the most you can, to feel happy.
