The first time I watched GOT without any prior knowledge, it was obvious to me that it was based on ancient British history (though I'm British myself. The geographic location of the capital, Kings Landing is too similar to the South Westerly location of London for it to be a coincidence. Also, LOL at the Scots being Wildlings: D

The Targaryens who came from Valyria conquered and ruled Westeros for -3 centuries- are a Roman dynasty who came from old Rome (Valyria, zombies invaded from the north like those tribes only after their collapse, and Westeros is a mix of both GB and western Europe, not just GB.

Many historians now believe the wall was built to stop the Anglo-saxons from leaving more than preventing Scots entering. Flipping the map was awesome though
