Nero had big ears. This actually also shows the pain of the mother actually. That woman had no right to get full power. I mean men were wanting it and getting it murdering for it, but how much she wanted it she could never get it purely because she happened to be female. As a woman, I can only understand how frustrating that must have been. So the fact that the mother did this is also because of the society they were living in and because it was a men's world, that lead to complete madness. That is why balance is so important.
and poor Octavia. innocent victim.
poor Christians innocent victims and for what? saving yourself. how horrible can a human be, but leaders do this more often

The documentary starts out false. Christians did not exist at the time of Nero. Not until after Titus of Rome, sacked Jerusalem, was Christianity Invented by Romans and historian Josephus. I find ignorance of history and others do to in some Timeline documentaries. What they did is back dated the gospel writings to make it appear that the prophecies came true and this happened around 70 A. D. I do use timeline as it is one of the best for history.

I understand him as a tyrant based on the perspective of a 21st century human being. But I wish I could have witnessed the period in person. Meet all the different peoples of the time. Learn a trade and maybe take upon myself a loving wife if I was lucky. Eventually convert to the new and strange crucified God's religion and then die an old happy grandfather. To live that close to the life of the Jew Yeshua would be so interesting.

One one hand you think how cultured and refined it would have seemed to drop in on Roman aristocracy as a time traveler. On the other hand there's the human torches in the emperor's gardens. Or the 6000 crucified POWs lining the main for 60 miles if you're coming from out of town while Caesar was in power.

5000 paid applauders and 1800 competitions and he won 1st place in all. He reminds me so much of Trump. An insecure man child who goes on tour or in trumps case ralliesto feed his ego with false adulation. Trump is Nero incarnated!

All this did was reaffirm that he was a psychopath and detached from reality, which is what the whole story of him playing the lyre during the fire was meant to do. A good documentary, but nothing groundbreaking in here at all.

History written by propagandists. that would never happen today. oh wait, I forgot about 90% of the media, most American colleges, most of the entertainment industry. and since the 2020, most of the US government.

The rest was Outrageous. From installing new hair or owning the tool to hit hair to lasers to pill to install a heart engine. So antiperspirants matter but more than that these peoples imaginations.

I really enjoy Tony Robinson's documentaries. Whenever I see him presenting something I have to check it out and I must say, I am never disappointed with his delivery. The dude is an awesome historian.

Romans were a brutal society with a retarded leadership.
Like today they were rotten. He not only killed his mother but Popyia as she was pregnant. No idea why it was not mentioned here.

Whenever family stuff annoys me, I just remind myself: at least my mom didn't marry my great-uncle and arrange for his daughter (my cousin) to now also be my wife. and step-sister!

Basically it all comes down to gender inequality and training ur husband. I have my own technique or approach or taking that everyone does not mind a second woman.

One problem: Robinson stated, the Next emperor, Vespasian, skipping Galba, Otho, and Vitelius, whom, though briefly, served as Emperor between Nero and Vespasian.

This has to be the worst biography I've ever seen, every other word this guy speaks is either a deception, a misdirect or just a flat out lie.

The baby used to depict Nero? What part of northern England or Scandinavia does he come from?
Because he sure doesnt look Roman!

I thought Caligula was murdered by a leader and troop of his own private guard? Not senators. Does anyone know the definite answer?

Lost me when he said Nero was refined, and wanted to promote peaceful games. He was a most horrific brutal ruler - a psychopath.
