The reality is that once you have customers invested into your digital store it's only proper to provide backward compatibility and sometimes even upgrades; especially when your next gen console is sharing a compatible chipset like a newly upgraded PC. This pro-consumer situation has occurred for some time with Steam on Windows PC. I have at least 400 digital purchases on Xbox and about 90-100 on Playstation. I expect compatibility as every customer should.

Conclusion: Xbox has smart delivery. Xbox has smart delivery. Xbox has smart delivery. Hold up! That's not as if to say that the Xbox is the superior console, but we have to keep in mind that... Xbox has smart delivery. The Playstation 5 has a ridiculous SSD, but the Xbox has smart delivery. SD > SSD etc etc

Still going with PS5, I built a gaming PC in the summer and having Gamepass means I can have xbox titles + games I want to play on PC (Warhammer 2, etc...) and then PS5 for their exclusives and the upgrades to some of the great exclusives from this gen is huge.

2:00 Microsoft is the only one competing for consumers. Sony is finding himself in a situation where he has to step back in his anticonsumer decisions not to look too bad alongside its competitor.

Just a sneaky way of distracting from both companies putting out underpowered consoles to keep releasing updated more powerful versions of the console every 2-3 years at full price.

The one game that doesn't need a upgrade is GTA 5 great on two consoles but im sure everyone wants something new. Personally I'd love to see new Splinter cell on next gen.
