What made far cry 3 a big deal?

Far Cry 3 (2012) changed the open world genre more than you might expect. Let's dive into why we loved this one and why it was such a big deal cardsfanbj: When I got into PC gaming in 2018 (having previously had a Genesis, Gamecube, GBC, GBA SP, and a DS), I'm super glad I started off the Far Cry series with 3. The story was great, the gameplay was good, and the graphics really held up well. Playing the game 6 years after release, I wasn't expecting it to look as good as it did. I'm glad I played it before I played 4 or 5 or Primal.
And I recently bought Ghost Recon Wildlands and it really feels a lot like a Far Cry game, between the base raiding (though you don't clear it for good), the stealth mechanics feel the same, the drone feels like the bird you use in Primal, the team aspect is like the guns for hire in 5. I like it. It feels like its own game, but it also feels familiar.
Only real complaint about FC3 was the collectibles. Way too many, and it didn't feel necessary. They had no purpose, you couldn't sell them for upgrades, and you didn't unlock anything by collecting a certain number of them.

I dropped off of Far Cry 3 for years because I found certain missions really frustrating and couldn't bring myself to try and finish it. The first Far Cry I actually finished was Far Cry 5. The only annoying moments were the timed missions where Jacob Seed captures you had to keep fighting through a maze and get to the end before time ran out. You got captured at random wherever you were on the map, also by John Seed and Faith Seed, But John and Faith's missions weren't anywhere near as frustrating. Still a very fun far cry game though. I tried far cry 4 but it felt like too much like 3 and when i got to the first stealth mission that caused an auto fail when you got caught i thought -nope- and stopped playing altogether. Far cry 3, for me, is the best game in the series.

I got bored with the amount of filler shit and quit farcry 3. I remember liking farcry 2 a lot more with it's themes and weapon degradation meant you should not just save weapons but use them. I just loved the way vaas was and that what I also liked about farcry 4. The villain, but still dumb filler missions still made me not like farcry overall, it was just medium.

I guess people love it because they didn't have the previous two games to compare to. The game is repetitive, empty, predictable, shallow, lackluster, a huge chore. If you've done one radio tower, you have done them all. The story and characters are so stereotypical and unoriginal, I don't understand how people loved it.

Everyone forgets 1 think what made this game so memorable.
One of the best things were soundtrack itself, From starting scene when you drop in river that song.
When you're driving in jungle and a flute song -apm music - serpent dance- comes up
-skrillex's make it burn dem- when you go wild with flamethrower

although FC2 was my first game, the only thing that got me off with FC3 was the jamming on the weapon which they removed . but other than that and monkeys attacking you in the jungle,. FC3 is the best of the series. 2012 was a good year. the year i played SKYRIM, MW3, and later that year FC3

I hated far cry 5 cause i loved far cry 3 and 4 so much. Far cry 5 is just not a far cry. No experience for stealth, stealth has been teared down , not a good story , and they removed everything basic in name of perk points . So bad -

I LOVED this game, and it-s still a great game. I only had one complain: I couldn-t reset an enemy base so that I could try to capture it again using different strategies. That would-ve been so much fun back then.

Ok so... seeing as gaming companies want to do a bunch of remastering of older games, why can't we get a port or remaster or something of far cry 2? Seeing it in on the new systems would look awesome!
