My complaint about expeditions is that all the detailed world-building and environmental storytelling they do so well got thrown out the window. The instances are streamlined to be repeatable (so you can grind out yet another meta-currency, pushing the player to be goal-oriented and finish at a reasonable pace while actively discouraging you from aimlessly exploring for hours and hours. As a consequence, the sets feel really barren and lifeless compared to the main map (and previous games, just a quick tease that sends you home disappointed like an escort that told you your hour was up before you got to the happy ending. Bethesda failed to learn the lesson of Nuclear Winter (the half-baked battle royale game mode that came and went while you were gone) and that is: they should stop trying to indulge every style of gamer and focus on the strengths that made the franchise a cult classic. This eclectic hodgepodge of an inclusive design philosophy drags everything down to the lowest common denominator, turns an intriguing saga into a mindless cash-grabbing time sink better suited for a mobile app, and is ultimately devolving into a tedious chore that leaves everyone feeling unsatisfied. FO76 is like the Charlie Brown of video games - it's not so bad that you don't want to hang out once in a while, but in its effort to appeal to a wider audience it tries too hard to be everything to everybody and ends up being too wishy-washy to earn anyone's enduring respect.

After 5 seconds I knew nothing has changed.
You're picking up a dog bowl which has exactly the same texture than in Fallout 4. You're shooting a guy in the face with a shotgun point black and he doesn't even flinch.
It is still crap. It is a MMO without a clear concept of why would I want to play this game with other players.
It is the same milking machine as it was at start, with some of the bugs fixed. It is still Todd Howard's idea on how to tie players to the same cheap replacement for years, while milking them more than a full game's price every year.
Great idea, Todd, but buzz off. I don't want anything from you any more. Even if you launch a real Fallout 5 or an elder scrolls 6, I won't buy it. I didn't buy Starfield, and based on the reviews that was the right choice.

Although I never clicked on your videos before, because I dislike the manipulative nature of the thumbnail and title - I clicked on this one, despite me never wanting to have anything to do with F76 in any form. And I liked the format very much! The gameplay is shown righ away, with loads of footage. The pros and cons are clearly presented. For what it's worth: I say well done! And, not to be overly positive: I felt at the 75% point of the video, that the added value of information in every minute was diminishing (not much new info is being provided in the last 3/4 of the video. But that's just my personal view, maybe most of the 7. 96 M of your well earned subs feel differently. :)

Bro. Fallout was always an RPG at heart. The beauty of exploring a world full of amazing characters and factions with their own interests, and how you intermingle with all that jazz, while kicking ass. This Is not it. It's just an MMO. The most disgusting thing a company can do, is take all the heart & tears of the people who dared to imagine such a beautiful world, and try to turn it into a pile of shitty cash. And failing. The show is good though. Thank God Bethesda's hands stayed out of it.

To be honest I always enjoyed my time with it and had a blast but honestly it just wasnt a single player game, if you get a bunch of friends together on your own server its basically a good backdrop to crack open a few beers and just hang out with your buddies for a few hours, expecially if they live all round the country and you dont get to see them very often, We had a lot of fun, but honestly, without the beer and the buddies, I cant say I would have really enjoyed it that much.

I got this game through my Prime subscription and decided to give it a try. It runs terribly on my system and the MMO nature of it can be a bit overwhelming at the start, but to be honest, I'm having fun. I wasn't fond of the base building system since Fallout 4, but it doesn't seem as core to the progression here as it was there, so aside from that, it feels like a proper Fallout experience. I just wished for better optimization, as the game was never a looker.

Thats exactly how i felt coming back to it. I've tried it twice since launch. Its not a horrible game, its just not good. Its, ok. Always played it during F2P events and got it free from twitch. Even with no financial investment it just doesnt seem worth the play for me. I put a solid 10 hrs in forcing myself to give it a solid try. Moved on though. Booted up New Vegas though and will go back to 4 once the new gen update hits.

I thought I'd finally try it out as it's on gamepass. It's alright so far. It's doing the fallout thing fairly well. Base building has been and still is broken asf. It's honestly surprising how little (if at all) they've improved since fallout 4, especially considering it's such an integral part of this game and it's introduction.
Overall it's ok. Get it if it's free or you're a hardcore fallout fan. I rate it - A Bethesda Game/10

The biggest issue for me is the way the game pulls you out of the immersion like falcon mentions in the video. Constant event pop ups, atom shop stuff, fallout 1st, and everyones being goofy building whacky settlements. Dont get me wrong, i think its a fun little spin-off and a great way to experiment with fallout online, but it just isnt a fallout experience for me. I'd rather a smaller scale fallout co-op experience.

game looks like shit feels like shit and need 100 big update to be even 1. 0 well that all can u get with bethesda. I dont care if game doesnt look latest unreal game but if game looks worse than ps2 graphics it sucks no matter how good story or content is. biggest negative is the engine same bugs on every game and there is always stuff u need to do before game runs smooth locked 60fps otherwise physics is mess up.

They should make fallout 5 have 3 stories single player and then a couch coop split screen story that takes place after the first player beats the game and then a online that takes place during the couch coop story but has yk updates adding to it like gta but also have some dlc for single/coop play one being specific for influenceing couch coop splitscreen adventuring

i heard 76 was awful so i waited a couple years to pick it up(That was 2 years ago. Fact is, its been a great game for years now. A solid addition to the lore/universe. It's exactly what i was looking for, a new fallout game that i can now also enjoy with my friends. Anyones whos loves fallout but hates 76 probably hasnt played it since release.

Sorry but I’ve played since beta-2021 regularly and have been one every few months to try to give it a shot. Genuinely not a fun game and I wouldn’t recommend. Idk why people are hyping it up lately like it changed. It truly didn’t. And I wanted it to. I’ve been rooting for it but it’s blatant misinformation to say it improves meaningfully

It should not be compared to previous Fallout games, BUT with other MMORPG's (because it is an MMO) like GW2, WOW, New World, etc. In that regard the game is really really good, immersive and has the best community I ever saw in an MMO. There are even donation boxes so veterans can donate stuff to new players. It is really a good MMO today.

fallout 4 or new vegas is still far better then this sh! t, atleast in fallout 4 your not confronted with microtransactions, well they have what the payed mods in that game but there plenty free mods, wat 76 does not have, free mods that is. 76 is like a lambo, but with a lada/skoda engine in it because you ran out of money
reply

Now, my only gripes are: no mods, and no time pause/slowdown during VATS, both of which are impossible to implement because of multiplayer. No, online. There is singleplayer, but you have to pay monthly for the privilege to play solo, and even then you're still online and still no mods and no traditional VATS.

Me and a friend bought it, and holy smokes what a complete piece of garbage this games is. It looks and feels like a cheap very early access game made by a single person. The fact that Bethesda released this crap is really mindblowing! Just look at 0: 38, it just looks like a cheap ass early access game.
reply

but the whole point of this game was to not have to be lonely so i don’t think it’s really a problem that it’s live service they don’t have to use as much resources on the single player games as they do in this so it makes sense that they have micro transactions to get more value from this game
reply

its great that everyone wants to play 76 again, but tbh i just was FO5 and this game is no New Vegas, or even fallout 4, the multiplayer idea seemed really awesome at first but i'd rather have everyone live that real story they wanna live, instead of a half assed one to fit a shotty feature
reply

Honestly, if they added the ability for my friends and I to group up, see the same dialogues, and let ANY OF US choose the dialogues options, id be down for it.
Basically I think we all want CooP fallout, not MMO fallout. Like Baldurs Gate or Divinity.
But the game has come a long way.
