I will admit, when i heard the gameplay was more ala a Soulslike game rather than a more hack and slashy game i was a bit turned off. But then i again, i like some soulsLITE games like the Jedi games. They are really satisfying and fun to master with th parry system. So i gave the Demo a wirl. And at first i wasn't sold. It felt so much more stiff with the most pathetic excuse for a dodge. And dealing with crowds was mildly annoying as the game doesn't feel built for it. But then! I started to unlock a few more skills like the dodge behind an enemy when they do the blue attacks and i got a better hang of the parrying and perfect dodge. And it sorta just clicked. I still think it's a game that will grow on you. As in the more skills you unlock the more right it'll feel. Didn't unlock the double dodge. But it looks like it fixes the dodge for normal use. And the final boss in the demo was very very fun. So i was sold on the game by the end. And i like the stance this game is taking. Artistic freedom and not censring the game in any region. I feel like too many devs will needlesly censore games at times for regulations. So all in all, this is a day one buy for me. It's a videogame. Like Digital Foundry said, it has some of that PS2 era feel to it. Just with modern tech. And yeah, that's honestly kinda it from what i played in the demo. I'm excited.

I played the demo and felt like the combat didn't have enough weight to it. Enemies don't flinch when you're attacking, they all have super armor and power through your attacks to land their own. Slashing and hitting the enemy doesn't feel satisfying. The parrying and dodging helps, but I still wasn't able to figure out when to land a full string most of the time before the enemy interrupted my attacks or if I'm just supposed to be waiting to counter first for every single mook.

And there are still so many great examples of old vs new side by side games. Take original flight simulator versions vs the current Microsoft flight simulator. Wing Commander to Star Citizen. Every sports game with long standing (NHL 92-24, Madden 88-24, etc. Battlefield 1942 to BF5. COD1 to MW3. Seriously crazy to see the level of improvement that tech has taken graphics to just in the last 10 years let along the last 20 or 30yrs.

I already buy it because stellar blade is more common of Xenoblade Chronicles by same name but however music theme is Doom slayer make player hype and the quite difficult level of skill is Xenoblade but is actually sekiro shadows die twice skill technique to survive also art technique form Xenoblade Chronicles. It because it fusion of Xenoblade Chronicles Doom slayer sekiro shadows die twice = Stellar Blade

I'm interested in the game, but it's a question of value for me. How long is it How many difficulty modes Is the combat deep enough to be worth replaying on higher difficulty.
If it offers as much as say, Devil May Cry 5, I'd have no problem shelling out $70 for it. If however, it's a 10 hour one and done affair, I'll wait until it's either $30 at most, or on PS

lol the last bastion of game reviews where we don’t have to see idiots saying this game is gonna make women game end themselves cause the character looks to good! Waaaaaa god it’s pitiful what 90% of the game review articles have been like because they think obesity is the norm how women should look, and must have females be obese in games aswell.

These days, I just check on GAMERANX take on games. The commentary's rational and I totally felt it when I heard Sometimes, that's all you need They keep the political theories out while staying in touch with gamers. I've had enough of IGN and Kotaku's steaming pile of blind crap. I'm definitely getting this and we gotta support this developer.

hey im just trying to spread the word on Perfect Dashing which people should really learn how to do in this game if they want a faster playstyle. The game is not as clunky as a ton of videos make it look. Feel free to check out my Perfect Dash video, its a technique in addition to dodge canceling for those who want to move faster in the game.

I hope they add the ability to go into settings and let you have a button to toggle on and off slow jogging. Right now it's just how much you push your analogue stick, but it's kinda small window. I think toggling on and off slow jogging is the answer though, because how it is now makes a smooth transition for slowing down and stopping.

I wonder how much of their revenue from Goddess of Victory: Nikke (their biggest mobile game, although they best was Destiny Child) went into developing this game before Sony helped a little. Nikke basically printed money for Tencent and Shift Up for a while reaching 600 million in revenue within the first year LOL

Finished the demo today and it was great. Not really a fan of Japanese style games but I really enjoyed this one. The combat was amazing and during exploration the background music really set the tone. Will probably not pre order but I will definitely be buying this game at launch. Love your videos bro

Game looks solid but I can wait for a PC release, as I'm still waiting for FF7 Rebirth also. I hate choosing between performance/resolution in games I love. Also mods. Has it been confirmed yet that it's coming to PC some day Would be a shame if stays stuck on PS5 forever.

Props to the editor on this one, I love you guys, but your footage rarely matches what you say when describing things in a game (and it drives me nuts lol. They actually aligned the footage with your description a lot in this one! Hope it continues!

I just pre-ordered it. I knew nothing of it up until a couple of weeks ago. Just from what I have seen, it looks like Nier Automata, mixed with Dark Souls, Sekiro and Devil May Cry. I’m not going in with any expectations, but it looks fun.

Parrying felt nearly impossible for me in the demo, but maybe that’s user error I was bummed you didn’t get the gun in the demo, but you made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal so now I’m not sure I’m even excited it for anymore

I love love Before You Buy, you come, you get a non spoiler review to see if the game intrigues you enough, and Jake is always unbiased and gives it to you straight, the good, the bad, the ugly, but never tells you to buy or not buy

I paused at the combat is the main thing you’re doing in the game say no more I’m sold. The combat is the reason I love single player games like spiderman 2, horizon forbidden west and Deathloop. Good combat MAKES a game.

Last year the consumer friendly product of the year was Baldurs Gate 3
Depending on how the post launch content goes. This is shaping up to be a classic game.
I cant believe new game plus will be there at launch!

Imlike it I tried to reserve it but they ran out of copies so it's a hunt. This is the first game I don't ind spending 70. 00 on from the demo it really seems worth it. It fun, like the games of old. Nice review Jake.

The demo seemed slow but after seeing this footage it still looks slow and clunky and sounds like a womens tennis match. And i was really looking forward to this, shouldn't take long to end up in the bargin bin.
