Destiny 2 lightfall - before you buy

Destiny 2 lightfall - before you buy

Destiny 2 Lightfall - Before You Buy Low: Oh Destiny I used to love you more than any other. I have all the early merch. Spent many a weekend grinding away with Gjallarhorn in hand. Our relationship has become strained. I occasionally get the itch to return to your embrace. I am excited as I boot up the game after having been away for so long. There is no love for me. You smack me in the face with an unpassable quest with no set up, no welcome back, no helpful tips. And so it is. Deleted again and forgotten until the next time the itch returns. Will Destiny ever welcome me back with an embrace or will she continue to SMACK ME INTO THE GROUND!
Anywho, /salute to those who kept up with Destiny.

The game went sharply downhill since activision left the scene, we used to get 3 raids a year and 3 dungeons, since shadowkeep we have gotten 1 raid per year with a barely remastered old raid from d1 and now have to pay for dungeons, they have drained the community dry, new players have the worst experience trying to get ppl to try it is the worst thing ever the campaigns are a joke, the destiny community hate this dlc and you should've done this during withqueen not lightfall this is subpar compared to what was promised. You should not be recommending this game to people without knowing how new players are gonna be left in the dust, connot stress enough how bad destiny has fallen, do not buy this game if you don't have the season pass you have nothing once the campaign ends which is around 5 hours max

On the difficulty bump:
Regular campaign is relatively easy. If you know build crafting and can aim, it isn't that bad. Legendary however. that's where the game really shows the flaws of a lot of the new changes. The final 2 campaign missions on Legendary are particularly frustrating and poorly balanced/designed. The resilience nerf and mod-reworks have left a lot of functional builds in a sorry state to nearly being unusable.
Newcomers should hold off on Lightfall. Bungie needs time to show whether they hear the communities criticisms and it would be unfortunate for a returning or new player to enter Lightfall in the sorry state it's in.

do not buy lightfall its a AAA price for maybe half an C tier indie game worth of story and gameplay, sure the visuals are good but outside that not worth anywhere close to the cost
the fact the leade developers have done how to presentations and in the slide show they say always under perfom never try should tell you how bad this expac is
the new strand supers are ok, fun during the story but bad outside, the titans new subclass is very very underwhelming and just green striker, hunter and lock are average and work fine outside the story but still not worth the AAA price you may aswell buy a hammer and hit yoruself the the face.

If you wanna take down Malenia, I've got a trick that'll make you feel like the ultimate boss! Grab a buddy and equip yourselves with some heavy-duty weapons, 'cause this ain't gonna be a tea party. Get ready to hop around like kangaroos on steroids and show Malenia who's boss! Don't let her focus on one of you for too long or it'll be game over for that player. Plus, if you time your jumps just right, you can totally mess up her attack plan and leave her scratching her head like a confused chicken. So, get out there and show Malenia who wears the pants in this game!

I think destiny is only cool if you play it from launch. For those who start later, it already starts at the maximum level. The story missions of the dlcs are confusing to follow the timeline (but come to think of it, the chronology of the DLCs doesn't even matter. Not to mention that the first 3 expansions were deleted. The beginning of Destiny 2 ended up becoming the same beginning as 1. I beat 1 several times and bought 2 to have a different experience. But now I'm forced to experience the same opening hours as 1. Outrageous.

Idk, to only look at the campaign is a bit too simple. That s not where you end up spending the most time. I d guess more likely strikes, crucial and gambit, which has always been in a rather sad, unfun state. I hope Bungie finally changed something about the constant flow of garbage after you re done leveling, that s been extremely tedious in the past.
The settings look awesome as per usual, wow!

The game play loop is fun for a little bit bit my goodness is the story absolute gibberish! Some over the top entity appears from nowhere and you get some gimmicky new powers. Lather rinse reapeat as they have been doing for years. It isn't one coherent plot. It's a bunch of developers putting random over the top tropes together with excessive amounts of duct tape hoping it sticks.

in 2020 they had the New Light Initiative. I got to play all old content from the main campaigns so I played The Red War, and the other expansions up to Forsaken. It was fun playthrough and it went away after the Great Destiny Vaulting when Beyond Light came out. had a blast getting caught up during season 11 Season of Arrivals. The last season in Shadowkeep.

I've always been a D2 fan, but never really had the time or money to pay for dlcs on launch day, but always kept watching all the cutscenes on yt to keep up with the story, well, I'm almost done with college and have a job, so now I'm pretty happy to play the dlc since day 1, and I would give a 4 out of 5 to this update

I have over 5K hours in the game, not mad. Covered it pretty well in my opinion.
I love where Bungie is taking the game, story and mechanically. They update the game so often and have a weekly news letter where they communicate with fans.
If you enjoyed Halo 1- Reach and Diablo /MMO progression this will be addicting.

I was the typical day 1 destiny player going back to when icebreaker and gally where the guns to get. I stuck with it a year or so in to D2. I just cant. I love the game play and the mechanics. I just don t think Bungie had a solid plan (ever) and ran this into the ground. It stopped being fun.

I fell off of Destiny but keep coming back because its the only game that feels like it feels. I play Destiny when I want to scratch a very specific power itch while jumping and flying around. I just wish they had more community stuff in the game and didn't rely on forums and the app soo much.

I've always wanted to play Destiny 2 and I've been stepping out of my comfort zone of the usual cosy management and heavy rpg games so this vid really helps!
The gameplay looks amazing and it definitely looks like something I'll not want to put down for a while after trying it out

Yeah, the game is good. but the moneytization is extremely shady. I mean, removing all of the original campaigns. reskin it and sell it back. And every effing expasion costs as much a full priced game. And add that you basically MUST get the season passes. Good game, but no thanks.
