20 HIGHEST Jumps We TRIED in 20 Video Games Unfortunately, hitting water at terminal velocity is just like hitting solid ground in terms of what happens to you; even throwing an object in before you to break the surface tension doesn't work, the Mythbusters proved that. So unfortunately any game that lets you survive such a fall by landing in deep water is not abiding by the laws of physics; but then again, neither is any game that lets you survive a fall like that by landing in a hay pile (Assassin's Creed) or a big pile of trash, which's likely not all soft anyways (OG Dying Light.

The highest point i ever jump in a video game was No Man's Sk whitout a doubt. It is the highest point where you can jump of a building in a videogame. I tride piling up this base tower up to clouds and the clouds being the midpoint i record it a couple of times before back in the day when i was still playing on my ps4. It was so high it will took me about a minute reach the bottom, no joke. You can even fly the ship outside the planet and you can see the tower that i built. The point of this why i tried doing this was because i want to reach the mother ship or the starship/ freight in No Man's Sky. You can even summon a robot from the top of the tower, the one where you can ride then jump from it. It actually feels so much better with the robot because of the impact you will create when you land. Although it was player made and not a natural structure like in other videogames, If we're talking about the higest it is the highest. Try it yourself its so much fun

You guys missed the biggest most impressive jump of all. Jumping from space in No Man's Sky. If you get on a frigate, you can jump off and you will start rapidly running out of life support. As long as you keep refilling life support you can fall from space all the way to the surface of a planet with no transitions. Its all the same world space.

I feel like more open world games need aerial locomotion, especially in style of Just Cause 3 and Arkham Knight. Base jumping in San Andreas and flying across NY in Prototype was fun, but damn how cool it felt to fly across fictional Italy or whatever it was in Just Cause 3. It definetly deserved its spot on the list

A couple years back I got suspended from Twitter for promoting suicide by talking about the giant dive jump in BotW. Since then I created a new acc, noticed I didn't care about Twitter, deleted that acc and my life is ever so slightly better. But I'll always remember the dumbassery of that suspension.

GTA San Andreas. Enter the cheatcode 'cars float away if hit', go to a tank in the military base, hit it just slightly with a car (it moves up a bit but doesn't float, then enter the tank and it suddenly floats straight up. Forever.
I did this as a child. Definitely my highest jump ever.

I don t know if these count, but in Morrwind, Sheogorath The Deadric Prince of Madness, teleports you to the top of the map and has you fall if you attack him. Also in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Yennefer teleports you above a lake and you fall into it if you piss her off during a conversation

You know I always wonder why us. As people in video games always wanna go to the highest point in the game. And then just jump off. Because I am one of those people who love to find the highest point and just jump off save before I do it. And then die when I hit the ground

I just wanted to say! seeing spider mann finish a rubix cube then immediately turning around in a split panicked state then bouncing off the floor while falcon says before becoming one with the cement was absolutely hilarious and it caught me off guard

I'm not sure if this is already known, but I believe in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, if you max out acrobatics, you can't die falling down. I've jumped from ludicrously high places, and the most damage I take is half-ish.

What a wonderful analogy for Tears of the Boredom. I'm sure that most players would opt to plummet to their doom from the highest point rather than suffer another agonizing second of this insipid overpriced DLC.

Hearing the praises of realistic and correct behaviour to break the water surface in Hogwards gave me a good chuckle when you then start swimming in full plate armour like it's made of foam

I always get that feeling in my legs whenever anything deals with heights, even in video games
Yet ironically or maybe subconsciously to face my fears
I really wanna go skydiving

Jumping onto a geyser on a 0. 3G planet in Elite Dangerous launches you into space and it takes ages for you to drop back down to the surface and it is survivable with the jet pack.
reply

Destroy All Humans 2 Takeshima Tower. Gotta have max jet pack upgrades so you can A) get on to the top antenna and B) slam the ground with a shockwave for that epic landing.

A few things gamers will always do
Shoot the red objects and gas cans
Jump a car from ANY slope or ramp in a game
Jump down from the highest point in the game

My friend and I had a game we'd play in the grand theft auto games. We go as high up as we could in a plane and then jump out. We'd see who could hit a npc's car first.

I'm glad to see Crackdown on the list. That game gave me vertigo. You next list has to have the jump from the tower into the underground toilet bowl in Crackdown 2!
reply

That car hit Batman way harder than the fall from a 200 meter high building. Also, i've jumped from this building in Fallout 4 in full power armor. Not a scratch.

Something about the source code Rockstar uses that without a doubt is so distinguishable from other open world games. You know when are playing a Rockstar game.
