Pacific Drive - Before You Buy

Pacific Drive - Before You Buy I played the demo and really liked it. I'd been watching it for a while and it would have been an instant buy except for the saving system, it's a little conflicted over on Steam Forum/discussions. A decent amount of players (myself included) want to be able to save while on a run. The developer said no they won't be adding that because of save scumming possibility. Life happens sometimes for some of us, we want to be able to at least have an exit save an pick up later. The first run in the demo was close to an hour for me, I wouldn't want to see that time go to waste if I had to leave the game. It's not a multiplayer game. Some kind of progress saving should be possible. Until then I won't be buying it.

Hey gameranx its subs.
I am new to gaming.
And so far have only played third person action shooter and adventure games(like God of War 2018 and Uncharted.
I never played First person games.
Which is the best FPS games for beginner like me.
I am not liking some First person because of that weird right into your face like camre in first person or shaky movement in these games.
Please suggest some great First person genere that doesn't have that weird feeling in FPS camera angle.

My car won't turn left when I run the air conditioning. If I'm driving over 30 my windows won't roll down until I stop. If I'm driving up a steep hill my radio gets quieter. My cigarette lighter won't get hot if the car's doing under 50. My engine won't start if my wheels aren't all pointed straight. I have to turn my radio's volume knob all the way up to max to put my car in park.
I just drive a lousy car. There's no sci-fi anomalies or aliens around.

To be honest, I'm slightly surprised as your description could fit the demo as well (I think only car quirks weren't there. It's both good (demo was good representation of final product) and bad (it sounds like there's not much more to discover beyond the main gameplay loop. You didn't mention performance so I assume it's fine.

The more I see the more I really don't care about this lmao. Sorry that Jake had to not only play this but also see the positives. Not to mention they now have Helldivers to compete with, this game is definitely gonna go overlooked and it's not even their fault. There's nothing out and helldivers killed it.

How have you already played so much of the game i did try out the demo on steam 2 days ago and could only do first mission, after that next mission i would go to would quit the game, so i did pre order it directly so now i just sitting here and wait for 3 more hour until i can play the full damn game haha!

i'm all for supporting new developers and new game ideas. cooking the same toast till its a crisp like Battlefield (played 1 for 30 min and 2042 for 0 - plus all the ones before for 100s) gets old and boring and these developers are not pushing new ideas just polishing the same game. thanks for the review

I am very disappointed in this game. I picked it up based upon the praise it received frim three separate reviewers that I respect. That all being said, it sucks that I am softlocked out of progression after an hour into the tutorial. Buyer beware the crafting economy early game is very broken.

Loving the detail in the crafting system displayed in the video. I like the idea of diagnosing the quirk system but not a fan of the limit on guesses. I do have old cars, 73 Datsun 240z, 87 Toyota Supra, 91 Toyota MR2, 97 Lexus SC400, 98 Eclipse, 98 Celica, and 01 Prelude.

I was looking forward to this game when it was revealed at a Sony state of play. I'm just now starting to be more open to playing survival games after playing Palworld so I'll definitely check this game out. Everything about it just looks so cool and interesting.

I’ve had my eye on this one for a while and was really interested in it. However once I found it it’s not coming over to xbox I lost all interest. It looks so cool and i wish it the best, but they won’t be getting my money, because i can’t buy it

I've just bought and downloaded the game on the strength of the great demo released during Next Fest. I'm really looking forward to playing this game. Thanks for the great 'Before You Buy' Jake, as always it was informative and balanced

Thanks guys! I have this in my wishlist since the first trailer came out, and I completely forgot about it Looks very intriguing and fun (although survival games aren't my thing tbh, definitely going to buy it after I come home later

As a survival car game enthusiast ( My Summer Car, Mon Bazou etc) I have been excited for this game to drop. I downloaded the demo today to play tonight on my night shift in preparation for tomorrow's release

Idk what it is about this game but ever since I saw the first millisecond of the first trailer i knew this was going to be for me. It reminds me of something from my childhood but not entirely sure what.

Game looks kinda meh. There's nothing happening. Looks like a game where the only enemy is the dark or shadows. Didn't see a single creature or anything. Oh no a mannequin in the road. Ohhh no

Played the demo. Loved the setting, hated the looting and crafting. If you like loot/craft games then you’d love this, but I don’t. :) Wish this were more of a narrative adventure game.

i love your videos you guys are awesome, but man your steering and watching that dog you got on the dashboard was crack up hahahaha. Speaking of can you use a wheel with this game

im convinced this game was made by mechanics that also like video games. i have an older car that randomly runs the headlight washers when i turn on high beams. im sold

Good chance I'm alone in this but to me it seems to hit the same sweet spot as Subnautica does. The feeling of terror in a strange environment is weirdly enough addicting.
