I grew up on the originals. Black and OG2 are my favourite action games ever. While I do agree sigma 2 is too much of a base, I'm pretty happy so far. While OG NG2 had more challenge, enemy count and mechanics, there was also a lot of annoying stuff like the landmine enemies, explosive shuriken hell, and really tedious bits like the worm bossfight from chapter 9. I feel like this version is a lot more consistent in those regards and more replayable. Gore is back, essence weapon upgrades, some combo's, removed the statue bosses (thank the lord) etc. The only thing I don't like is manditory extra character missions and some mob fights that were changed. Then again, they streamlined a lot of annoying bits in sigma 2 so extra missions do compensate for the reduction in playtime. This game is definetely a relic of it's time, and this is a solid attempt at drawing in new players.

You haven’t mentioned something really important. The original 2 now plays flawlessly and its fully backwards compatible in Series X/S and it plays 4K/60 (it plays perfect even on Xbox One) so if you want to play the best version its still accessible just is trapped on Xbox ecosystems. Also it is not a remaster like you said many times its a remake because it has a fully new engine. Also many areas look worse in the remake, they look different like in daylight when they were darker many chapters, also the aesthetics have less soul in the remake and the OG had a more darker and anime look that overall looked so better. Plus sadly wall running, camera and also overall gameplay flow works worse and they demand an update.

Guys, PLEASE download Xenia on PC and try the original ninja gaiden 2. Xenia is an Xbox 360
Emulator. Either that or you can play it on the one x or series x if you have those. The original version still completely destroys this game. Imagine the enemy count if dynasty warriors with the action depth of bayonetta or devil may cry and the difficulty of Elden ring. That’s the OG Ninja Gaiden 2 for you.
It’s a joke that they would call this black. As if it’s some remaster of the original. This is just a cash grab and sigma 2 with a new engine and that’s it. It’s extremely disappointing.

Probably the furthest from the mark I've seen a before you buy from Falcon be. like for 50 bucks you can support one of the best devs for action games around and get one of the best versions of one of the best action games available even by today's standards. Especially now, when we're all voting with our wallets to try and show that there IS demand for good, fun, arcadey games still, this is a particularly disappointing take from gameranx. Less than 50 wouldn't even be worth their time, and personally, I'd rather devs bring back some of these old games and breathe new life into them for whatever cost makes it worth it for them to green light more of these projects.

Don't let others' comments bring you down. I don't get why people has become very sentitive towards any kind of negativity even when justified and presented in a good manner, as you did. I thought you made your case reasonably and didn't think you were being super negative/unfair.
As for the game, I might get it later, in physical format and at a discounted price. I miss these games so much =.

The Framerate In Game is definitely Not Locked on PC. I beat it today on hard difficulty and it was locked at 120fps almost the entire game and if you think this game is remotely easy you're going to get a huge wakeup call when you play it on Master Ninja Difficulty. Lmao. It has a pretty solid difficulty scaling between the different levels. Mentor is probably the most logical difficulty for someone who wants the game to be hard but actually wants to be able to beat it. Only pure savant sadists can actually beat it on Master Ninja.

Get the game its the best game to scratch an itch that will leave you anticipating the next entry in the series for even greater things to come. 8/10 it has what fans love as well as giving newcomers a challenge and introduction of a legendary series.

Regardless, I'd like the quality here in the original, as for things people like about Black, it shouldn't be hard to recreate, we have information, writing, and footage of them to remake them if they TRULY wanted to. Tairon being revamped in Unreal would be cool.

To be fair I feel like there is a lot of rose-tinted glasses when it comes to OG NG2. I loved it and missed a lot of what they removed in Sigma 2, but I feel like everyone forgets the insane amount of projectile spam, some awful bosses, and grab spamming from the original. I feel like they got a lot closer to a good balance of chaos and fairness with this release.

I'm not upset they got rid of some of those annoying bosses because they really were let's just be real but They could have easily added more enemies to this with a simple update I don't know why they trying to make sigma the definitive version the 360's was goated the castle steps where you get bum-rushed by crap ton of enemies was one of my favorite parts of the game

Don't buy. I played it for free through Xbox gamepass. It is a pretty game being remastered, but they kept everything that was bad with it. Mainly the camera. There's something not quite right about being pushed up against the wall to have the camera ride up said wall, which in return you are rewarded with staring at the ground. I can not recommend this game

I doubt someone can port a game engine in Unreal Engine. It seems like a daunting task. So uh the more realistic approach is to rewrite everyhing using what available in Unreal.
It's not very uncommon though. I talked with someone woking on the PC version of FF9 and they basically said apart from assets everything is rewritten from scratch in Unity3D.

To my understanding, there is like 2 game paths
OG ninja gaiden, was too hard for players so they made ninja gaiden black, easy mode and more accessories, then ninja gaiden 2/3
Sigma is the dont copy me bro kind of feeling, similar to main story but a bit different and black follows OG version more

People have many different complaints about the sigma games and this but it all pales in comparison to the biggest flaw, they force you to play characters other than Ryu. That's a Big nono in my book.
Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 are still the undeniable best ports with no compare.

I would have liked for them to do something about the camera that constantly fights you, and the lack of player control when in air after jumping.
And yes, I understand the camera is how it was in the original, but there had to be some way to improve it without fundamentally altering it.

This game is not worth for 50 bucks
Dafuq It's a remaster of literally one of the best slasher actions ever and not only came with the graphical upgrade but the great mixture of og ng2 and ng2sigma. This is an whole pack which better then many current games that not worth for $70.

As someone who hasn't played the original, I'm having a hard time thinking how this is not the definitive edition Maybe the way you explain on this video is more of original is good, this one not so much okay How it's just not the original you know but I don't so I can't relate.

They should release a ninja Gaiden Black: Master collection for the switch 2! Give us ALL of the costumes, multiplayer, lock the frame rate, improve the difficulty curve, the harder difficulty level has more enemies and more aggression, but don’t make them sponges. Done!

Why buy when you can game pass it. Has all the basic graphics options and settings ray tracing, dlss, and frame gen. Can also set FPS to 120. This is on PC of course, no idea for console. Id imagine these options arent there at all.

All females breasts sizes were SHRUNK massively. But its easier to NSFW mod since it's running on unreal 5. Plus no budda/statute of liberty boss, my faves. Ignore falcon they are fun. Hopefully KT adds both back in an update!
