I have a feeling this list is going to continue to grow rapidly. There’s numerous reasons why, some of the big ones are:
1) Trying to appeal to too wide of an audience. Resulting in no one having any real interest.
2) Over-produced: trend/popularity chasing. Stomping out creativity and originality.
3) Choosing realistic, top of the line graphics, over something well designed and stylized.
4) Prioritizing greed over the delivered product and ruining the experience.
5) Catering only to a hardcore audience, and alienating the casual audience. Just about every game should have accessibility options, even multiplayer experiences. Competitive games can make a casual, non-competitive, build that dials back the intensity.
6) Poor marketing.
7) Releasing incomplete, broken buggy games.
8) Relying too heavily on immersion and manipulating the audience and forgetting that this is a game. You know, digital entertainment.
9) Refusing to innovate. Try something new. Develop new gameplay mechanics/loops. Attempt a new genre, or sub-genre. Kind of a catch all that doesn’t cover #2.
10) Continue allowing higher ups, and upper management too much creative control. Everything prior is more or less the fault of these guys.
Well Gameranx, here’s a video for you if you’re ever looking for content ideas. Lol

14: 33 he didn't just have connections to Swedish mafia, Stefan Eriksson was a leader of a group called Uppsalamaffia, a local mob operating in Uppsala, they would use threats and violence to collect debts. In 1994 he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to defraud a Swedish bank, and breaking-in and assaulting a man in his home, though he served only 5 years. He joined Gizmondo in 2001, and what happened since then, could serve as an inspiration for a decent crime drama as well: D

What would be cool would be now seeing the opposite, games that were made on the cheap and made a killing. I know it's always amazed me with movies when they can pull out like the Blair Witch and have so much success. The tablet, I definitely don't remember that. Could have been a cool idea but probably not for console gamers. Avium, I actually picked it up on the cheap at Walmart and looking forward to playing it. Think I got it for 5 bucks since they're clearing out some physical media.

TOO HUMAN! It is a great game! Dope rpg mechanics, a unique story with fantastic cutscenes and very narrative drive. The levels are massive with many secrets and has a metroidvania feel to them. The only gripe about the game is the funky but very unique, controls. Using the right thumbstick to attack was a bold choice that didn't work out! It did sell 1 million copies and ended on a cliff hanger would've loved to fight loki amd see ragnarok play out in a sci-fi setting!

I like the division games and destiny kinda(barely any skills) and I think it’s hard to make an avengers game like the division since it has no guns it’s all punching and your doing it a lot to a human character. It’s different. I finally played the suicide squad and I think it was fun. I’m prob 1 of 10 people who liked the game along with the avengers but I didn’t buy either at full price

right now am playing Immortals of Aveum and all i can tell so far is that the story is kinda boring but the combat is decent and for Avengers i did enjoy the story tho i dont care about the multiplayer and i got it for 1$ on Steam, Skull & Bones is trash i couldn't even make a 30m of gameplay, Suicide Squad is also trahs tho i wanna try t he story but am not paying even 30$ for it

Shemune was created so that yakuza/like a dragon series walk and it was a before yakuza created in 2005 think about that and it's true tho but most ppl say it's the virtua fighter that was created so that yakuza can walk nope, it's Shemune! It's all facts and i know the controversy about this subject! It has open world and fighting is primitive compared to yakuza fighting mechanics

Again all Ubisoft has to do was black Black flag 2 without the assassins creed stuff and it would have been the game everyone wanted and everyone was excited for. Yet they know better than everyone else and got upset whenever someone tried to compare it to black flag, forget everything you know about pirate stuff and we got skull and bones. Just a massive disappointment

While not a expensive game to make by any standard, I think E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial from 1982 should probably be on some we didn't include them, but. mini list at the end of the video, like you guys often do. That game almost tanked a whole section of the early industry. I still wonder how much investor stock was ruined by one title.

the doubling down on live service games just reminds me of whenever people say they want to try communism again and again because everyone before them who has done communism has not done it right allegedly.
meaning they are going to keep trying to do communism regardless the results of the other times it's failed.

If they left the FINAL FANTASY out of TSW it might've faired better. too many ppl thinking it has at least SOMETHING to do with the games but it was just it's own thing kinda left a sour taste for a lotta fans, I think. With that being said, I (being a massive FF fan) enjoyed the film and the out takes are hilarious

It’s kinda baffling to see companies struggle to understand what gamers want. You would think with social media platforms and the ability to host polls online, companies would know what their target audience would want more now than ever before. But they seem to make the worst decisions to push players away.

The Hogwarts sucess argument angainst live service game does bot work. The game is about one of the most successful franchises of all time. Even with the controversy with the creator, the game was a sucess. It's out of any reason. So if want to convince Warner use something else that worked as a single player game.

Game companies need to follow the apple route of making money: use as little money is possible to develop and produce their product and charge a premium for it. Along with this aspect of apple, they could also do another apple thing and barely change anything then release it as a new product.

DC is weird. Or I guess WB. They have successful games but still want something that they’re not experienced in. Did they forget about DCUO That’s still going. Multiversus is hitting its stride again. Everyone wants to do a live service but don’t know how to do a live service game.

The Gizmondo was made by Tiger Telematics, not Tiger Electronics. They're completely unrelated companies, and Telematics was based in Sweden and had links to organized crime. The company went bankrupt in 2006. Tiger Electronics still exists and is owned by Hasbro and based in Illinois.

it’s like every since Fortnite came out everyone tryna bite the pie like he said, but give us back brand new ideas with single player campaigns or its wraps. Microsoft gone lose to Sony, and they both are going to let PC become the chosen one for the community smh.

Jake, I’m right there with you with regards to FF: The Spirits Within. I owned a DVD copy that’s probably still sitting around somewhere. I would dust it off and watch it again, but I have nothing to play it given we live in an adorably all-digital disc-less time.
reply

Think Spirits Within mostly flopped due to it getting the Final Fantasy branding while nothing from Final Fantasy appeared in it aside from some names,
The summons for instance or the recurring characters.
Instead it was this slow paced scifi story.

I only played through the first campaign for Avengers and then quit. I wanted to like it, the game was gorgeous. But gameplay (even without accounting for the random loot bs) was just bad. They went action rpg, when they needed to go pure action.
