Personally i love this game i have put a fair few hours to it already and i am generally loving the experience. Even the map and how populated it feels just makes it so much more immersive, I a big dayz fan and even know once human can't be directly compared to this it is what i am going to compare it to. The world in once human seems like an apocalyptic world where humanity tried to survive the best they can and even know the mass population was wiped out there is evidence of them trying like bases and stronghold with defenses and just how all houses you go into seems like someone actually lived in them and just had to get out quick. Yes there is bugs and glitches but i haven't experienced and massiverly bad ones and lets be honest its a freshly released game and will take time to be polished. I haven't brought anything from the store and dont intend to as i love the grind and am really enjoying having to craft the items that i have and putting the time into actually playing the game. That being said once human is the only game in recent years i have thought about the the battle for, i probably won't but to even think about it just shows me how much i am enjoying this game. The round it off this is one of the most interesting games i have played in a long time and I'm really excited to see where this goes and if your having doubt about the game don't listen to other people just play it yourselves as thats the only way you will know if its for you or not.

i'll tell you what, this game has a MASSIVE problem, the lack of pants, i'm being serious here, i've played for over 15 hours (two sessions, frickin love the game so far) and i've yet to come across a single pair of damn pants, i know i can craft some but for the heck of it i decided i was doing no armor crafting tell i find a pair of pants. i have a feeling this is gonna take awhile.
all jokes aside i will say the monetization for the game is absurdly thought out, it has a battle pass sure but it's cosmetic, and the only resources in the battle pass are all in the free tier, otherwise there's only one currency you can get with money, all the other currencies/resources have to be got in game through challenges and what not which is a bit mind boggling, the only thing that can be considered P2W are buying tiers for the battle pass which WILL give you some resources (not much that you can't just grind a bit for though) and MAYBE the Meta Pass (monthly subscription) which gives you an upgraded respawn point which adds a disassembly bench to it, otherwise everything is purely cosmetic and you can't get the other currencies in any way but playing the game (though there are a LOT of said currencies) i agree the main issue with the game is there's too much right now that it gets a bit convoluted, but when the moments for horror arrive, they come down HARD, the bosses especially are just Muah, chefs kiss

Every live service game that has been successful has done it developing with the game first in mind, not the money. Destiny, which is a great game, started as a good story driven adventure with multiplayer gameplay. COD has also gained their followers through years and years of providing a good shooter, then later moved to live service model. Apex, a spinoff of Titanfall, great engine and fantastic gunplay. League of legends has one of the best lore universes with huge depth that has grown through the years while the game itself is a MOBA with essentially no depth at all.
The point is that these companies that just factory produce a game in a couple of years with EVERYTHING IN IT, with the intention of being THE MOST LUCRATIVE BUSINESS EVER, fails to understand the essence of gaming and why gamers stick to a certain game. They will always fall and I pity them.
I was looking forward a lot to this one because man, the setting is really cool and the art design just out of this world. Seeing it being another soulless intent of cashgrab like all the others is just a shame.
Won't install.
Thanks for great content as always!

I can't disagree with this review enough. The world is full, vibrant, and spooky, with many things to do. It has more QoL features than any other survival game I've played in years and they paid attention to details like stocking fish tanks with fish you catch, being able to play the piano you place in your house, being able to leave notes for other players on how to do something if they get stuck on a quest and so much more. There's no lack of things to do, yes the menus take time to learn to navigate and yes there is a lot of currency in the game, but you don't need a dime of it. It's just cosmetics, there's nothing in the game to purchase that can make you progress quicker, make you more powerful, or aid you in combat in any way, shape, or form. You can say it wants to tempt you into buying things, but you don't need to. If you do that's on you and no one else.
tl: dr - the game is a lot of fun with no end of things to do. its polished pretty well, there's multiple live events for thee community to join in together every day to encourage positive interactions and its one of the best survival games to release since Valheim.

Jake those multiple currencies are almost all free currencies you get from progression. Only one of them is premium. The others are things you get for doing stuff, like questing, salvaging stuff, etc. True, there's like way too many store and other currency pages, and it's pretty confusing to look at, but you can't buy most of the stuff in them with real money. Only one actual store takes real currency, and again, it's mostly cosmetics.
The battle pass is $9. 99 and is only cosmetics and a few consumables and currencies that you can get in the game anyway. I'd say the more important reason to get the battle pass is to support the devs. The free battle pass is pretty generous.

I don't get why so many people and critics are looking for bad things to say about Once Human. Got nearly 30 hours played since launch and more in closed beta before that. For what it is, being free to play, this game is insanely good.
Never asks for your money. No time gating or paywalls. No huge push to get you swiping in any way, just a ton of fun.
Yeah sure it's slightly janky and some players including myself get some stuttering even with a medium to high end PC but none of that bothers me because the fun outweighs it all!

Put off by the first log in. player bases form messy shanty towns in every direction for miles which really breaks the immersion in these games. Why not have a fixed grid for player builds where you have to claim a plot so at least the buildings would look like a real urban area as if it was meant to be there, not just wooden platforms and benches at funny angles, squashed in for miles and miles.

The amount of shit the game has got is wild. I've been gaming for 30years and I hate survival games, I am also against P2W trash I am really enjoying OnceHuman. The shop is all cosmetics. There are free skins to unlock. Combat is solid. And it has been fully released. Of course it needs some work and the season wipe might be an issue but give a try.

maybe i missed some key points in the video but just curious to ask if people think any of the issues could be fixed with future updates or the company is known for making improvements over time in their past games
free
sure will try it
rarely try new things and as such will make a deeper effort when there's low risks

if its a F2P, and the model is done well. meaning no pressure with shops etc etc, just lets you play accumulated premium currency, has events and stuff than it could be a good model. I mean Genshin is an example where they introduce you to the mechanic, than they leave you be. Its up to you to go to the wish shop.

Watching the video I see monsters inspired by Siren Head, in a fallout 4\Ark setting. Not really something I'd jump into Normally (Free to play has to many gimmick's for my liking. But on a weekend where I want something different (and free because the current steam sale ate my wallet, I might give this a try.

Not the whole soulless argument man. Same thing being said over and over about Palworld, obviously this game is trying to be more MMO than Dayz. That comes with having a bunch of non mandatory systems like any other MMO. e. g. - Do i need to fish to progress No. Do i want to fish to enjoy my time playing Yes.

As someone with 60 hrs in the betas and 10 hrs in the full release I can confidently say that it’s one of those games that has so much jank and valid complaints and yet somehow it just kinda supersedes them and becomes fun and addicting anyway. I’m not even really sure how to explain it

Man, you really made this game sound like a cash grab. Their monetization strategy is super chill. Only cosmetics, legit optional battle pass (again, cosmetics only, they’re really generous with the premium currency. Idk if it’ll last, but you made this sound like another EA game.

Game is more like Secret World meets Remnant, and a lot of H. P. Lovecraft atmosphere. and you DO NOT need to pay a dime for anything, it is not needed. My friends and I have been playing since launch fully free and nothing is paywalled. it's only cosmetics.

Dont judge this game to quick, I played the hell out of theclosed beta, and plenty of streamers did too, check it out more. There is plenty to critique, but they focused a lot on gameplay and once you learn the systems, this game is really fun and addictive.

I fell off the First Descendant because of the predatory transactions, but I've been having a great time with this and can't wait for the devs to flesh it out. Love the base building and creature design. Bonus points for only having cosmetics cost money.
