Sadly this is a case of publishers not focusing on fun. The issue is that games are now so expensive to make with hundreds of millions for development that they focus test the shit out of them until they're basically mush. A good chunk of the industry just focuses on safe since a failure is insanely costly. Hence why 3 dudes can easily make an amazing game since the costs are low.
IMHO the main problem with the game industry as it stands is the focus on AAA. In ye olde days we had a metric ton of AA games. If anything that was the majority of stuff that ended up as massive series. But now big publishers just avoid AA like the plague and are trying to go full AAAA which is just. silly? Theres no flexibility or experimentation anymore. The indies are here for us and thank the gods for that.

I think the problem with most multiplayer FPS is the competitive factor that is still sticking around a little while. Most of us know that it s changing because of the money problems with competitive leagues. I do think most of those left over projects are almost down and released. BioWare for example dropped all multiplayer games to solely focus on single player games. Plus the thunder being controlled by more and more indi and third party groups is being noticed by the AAA.

I hope everyone enjoy this game, i played the game since they made only playtests, this game is awesome, my potato laptop could handle it (in 64 players servers and less, but i can't buy the game now that is fully released, i have 206 hours played and i was like level 150, but now i can't play it anymore.
Believe me, it's just awesome, if you can try it try it, you will love it, it's basicly a love letter for the First Person Shooters players.

I'm still playing Battlefield 2, Project Reality, as well as Forgotten Hope 2. You can still play them; it's just unfortunate that EA delisted the game, making it difficult for the average person to find, especially if they are unfamiliar with obtaining them or unaware of their free spin-offs through legal loopholes. So I can understand the appeal of that game, despite its poor graphics, especially when compared to a game released in 2005.

Imo DICE has really fallen from grace, BFV was decent towards the end but it shouldn't have taken as long as it did to get decent, same for Battlefront 2 they dropped support adding pretty good content for both to make 2042. I'd love MAG remade for next gen, because idk if I want to support the choices DICE has made any longer. Also, WHERE IS BAD COMPANY 3? I've lost hope, and it probably wouldn't be decent now anyway.

I don't really get how masses flock to games like Battlebit and Final Fantasy Online, when games like Guild Wars 2 and Planetside 2 do it better.
If you want to play a massive fps pvp game then planetside 2 is the game. If you want to play an mmorpg that isn't like world of warcraft then guild wars 2 is the game.
But the masses just do things that only make sense in that people love bandwagoning.

It was supposed to be a milsim game and the roadmap has a milsim gamemode in plan so the reloading and other milsim elements are both leftovers and intended to stay. After a little practice you will be very accurate at knowing how much shots you have left in the mag just from the icon on the bottom right. Urges a little more tactical approach to your ammo management than just raw numbers, imo.

I was thinking of BF2 and the Vietnam expansion for 1942 when the old school was mentioned. BF3 is where I dropped the series. I heard BF1 was good but got burned by EA too many times to try it. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a follow-up story detailing haters at EA planning to sue instead of looking at what made people enjoy the older games more than the newer ones.

I ve been playin PC genre defining games one release at a time for over for 35 years now. And the gameplay experience Battlebit gave me during play tests was the same level of exhilaration I first experienced in BF1942 playing back to back with my brother in High School. And that is literally the highest compliment this old school gamer can give to any team based fps.

I'm all for old school games coming back. Like Hidden and Dangerous, which had great appeal were it not for the fact it was buggy AF. Have yet to see this kind of formula again without being bogged down with over complicated game mechanics and too many buttons assigned for different things. Sometimes you just want simplicity. Like Commandoes Behind Enemy Lines.

Oh man. I stopped playing most pvp stuff because I'm a bit too competitve and have a tendency to rage. But this. actually looks like a great time. I love huge, large scale combat games so I may jump into this. Now, if someone could make a decent planetside clone without the jank and egregious microtransactions that would be swell. Thanks for the rec, Falcon!

These 3 devs absolutely deserve to be rich, but it's obviously a passion project and I know they will keep doing a great job in development for the game's future. I did not think I would like this game and didn't enjoy my one chance at the playtest as the map was garbage, but I bought it and have been playing little else since.

i feel like a way to make the game even better would to be updating the graphics a little not like changing the models to be ultra realistic but changing the textures slightly and lighting and effects like explosions gunshots and smoke but sitll keeping the game like how it was just more distinguishable from roblox

Seriously the gaming industry NEEDS more back to basic fun first money second mentality. Just like in life money takes care of itself AFTER you get good at your craft and not one second sooner. Love this stuff. Now if we could just get some more single player games, fun first mentality again, it'd be wonderful

Took you long enough, this game has been hot for at least 2 weeks now! It's on the Bad Company 2 engine and that's why it plays so well. Now we need controller support with no aim assist of course! They are adding more vehicles soon, sick game that shows community and gameplay beats graphics and advertising.

I super happy to see people stand up to ea. ea is easly the worst company they very very rarely put out a good game. They lost the star war license and made disney reopen LucasArts and I can't wait for SEGA to get back to make all type of football (especcially nfl2k)that ea stole from them and made crappy

modern guns use magazines, not clips. unless you are shooting an SKS or an M1 Garand, there is very little chance that you are using a clip fed firearm. Revolvers use cylinders, and some guns use belts, shotguns use a tube, and single shot weapons just have a chamber. Everything else uses a magazine.

I've been playing battle bit the last week and a half with some buddies amd honestly it's refreshing. The prox chat in the game is hilarious, it's nice having so many weapons, camos, and attachments to work for naturally, you know people aren't gonna be paying their way to the top, they earned it

2042 was far too clean and goofy AF for a war game that killed it for me. This is what happens when you reach out to new audiences while alienating your current one now both sides don't like it. Hopefully Zampella can bring us back to at least BF1 levels
