Don't expect this, don't expect that. Don't expect good graphics, animations melee combat. This is a indie companie hihi: ) Swear to god no other developer is given this many chances. They HAVE to improve their engine. This is their last chance. They are so behind the rest of the indistury its insane. Their diaouge is outdated, approach to main story is outdated, their melee combat is WAS outdated in 2011, their graphics are outdated even tough graphics don't matter as much yet they are still behind. If the rest of the game is good graphics are just a shiny paint. I am sick and tired of hearing the same Oh, its Bathesda what can you expect: ) argument. They aren't an indie company.
Edit: Ship customization is so weird to add here. Imagine If Elden ring had torrent customization Still the same game. That feature alone can't save the rest of the game. To all points and purposes that is irrelevant and they need to focus on good gameplay first

the issue with ProcGen isn't inherent to the tool itself. Procedural Generation is just a tool, a tool which bethesda has been using literally since Arena (quite heavily in both Arena and Daggerfall) and it was only with Morrowind that ProcGen stopped being The content and started being used as a tool to facilitate handcrafted design. Starfield is the only game since Daggerfall to return to that concept of ProcGen as the content. They could afford to do that because it's a new IP with no pre-existing expectation behind it. Elder Scrolls VI will most likely return to that other use of procedural generation, as in: drafting the layout of dungeons, placing down grass, trees and rocks, generating nameless NPCs, generating radiant quests etc. so not to the level of Starfield, Daggerfall or Arena, but more in line with Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim aswell as the Fallout games.

Using Creation Engine for Elder Scrolls 6 is a terrible decision. It's impossible for them to fix the stiff animations and Keanu Reeves-like level of facial inexpression on NPC faces. We know this because Bethesda game animations have hardly improved at all since Oblivion. It's an engine problem. The animations were already outdated when Skyrim released. They should have learnt their lesson from the Starfield backlash. Releasing the same old tired formula with a fresh coat of paint is really not going to cut it this time around. The engine is way too limited for them to make the type of groundbreaking and novel game that gamers rightfully expect of Elder Scrolls 6

Being tied to the boat is not sandbox rpg experience, point one.
Point two, as much as I would like to travel to Hammerfell in the expansion I would more so like for the main setting to be medieval Europe like, which means High Rock and Breton knights, wizards, dukes and witches, architecture and nature.
Scope of the game, time passed since Skyrim and reascent Starfield failure doesn't give Bethesda room for idealistic direction and another massive mistake. They need to seriously cater to majority of audience and be realistic who they are, what they like and do some serious truthful research.

Content creators like you need to be influencing Bethesda to follow Larion's example and make this R-rated with stories and settings that are aimed at the fan base. We are all grownups and if they make another PG game with shit story telling like Starfield it will suck. So tired of Tim Howard and his vision of how these games should be. He is an idiot. They need to hire better writers. And please just look at BG3 and copy as much as you can. Imagine BG3 with Skyrim style, lore and rules and 1st and 3rd person as always. not turn based or DnD of course.

all I got from this video is that after playing moderately modded Skyrim for years, then throwing Nolvus into the mix - I've forgotten just how bad vanilla Skyrim actually looks lol
(before you me, yes i'm 100% aware of how old the game is, I literally first played it on launch day. I know it's not fair to compare a 13 year old game to current games. My comment is more of a nod to the incredible work mod creators and modlist curators have done over the years to truly transform the game into what it is today)

If they are still using their engine, i have 0 interest in anything coming from this clown studio. They can't tell stories, they cant make fun less janky gameplay. I grew up since skyrim. That wow factor is much higher now for me and i dont think this studio can wow me anymore. I do not trust anything that comes out of Todds mouth. He could tell me its raining outside and i would have to go and see for myself.

But how's the writing Are we going to have a struggle session on pronouns as a main quest, failing which gives you the bad ending Doesn't matter for much of the game if the story is written by no writing talent activists. Kills immersion which ES at its core is about. Little hype for ES6 after quality writing in Suicide Squad, Starfield, Veilguard etc. Today's writing is terrible.

Doesn’t matter how great people think this game gonna be.
If Bethesda can’t modernize their mechanics, meaning get rid of unnecessary loading screens and update graphics/gameplay this game will be just as bad as starfield.
Bethesda’s problem is, they are stuck in the year 2011 because of their success from skyrim and they think they don’t need to change anything.

The fact we'll get GTA6 before the new elder scrolls still screws with my head. But im iffy on ES6 cause starfield was subpar and thats being generous. I mean the gameplay was good the movement gunplay, but my god the amount of loading screens to just to visit a different place puts me off. Ill wait till we get some gameplay then ill base my decision from there.

People talking about having no hope for ES6 as if starfield didn't have best in class sound and art design. Ik the writing and terrain generation were lacking, but let's not act like bathesda doesn't give it their all with every single release. Creation engine 2 is genuinely impressive, people need to stop blindly hating and be realistic.

When this game launches (if ever) bethesda needs to get 1 thing right. It needs to have a very solid base.
We will immediately compare it to modded skyrim which has taken launch-now with all the amazing mods.
They need to make the elder scrolls a generation ahead with the base fundamentals. And let the modders do the rest.

It's amazing how unexcited I am for this game. I was 30 years old when Skyrim came out and I'll be almost 50 when (if) this drops. That's a quarter of a lifetime. AAA gaming, and especially Bethesda, has fallen off a cliff since this game was announced. Literally no anticipation for this anymore. Sad. :(

Todd and his team need to keep their damn mouths shut. Just shut up and keep working, we saw the mess Starfailed turned out be in the end with all the silly promises made and broken. Just shut up, keep working and release the finest piece of work you've ever made, that's all we ask! Ha ha!

I've been playing a TON of Elder Scrolls Online since Gold Road released, and the prevailing speculation is that there's a large section of the western map that is still missing. People think that's because of the Elder Scrolls 6 taking place there. I think all signs are pointing to Hammerfell.

Change 11: Todd Coward announced the use of the Creation Engine in it's version from 1849 to make more profit and to make him personally compete with Bobby Kotick's yacht fleet. He also said, he will try to lie even more about features and game loops to gain more sales and revenue.

As an elder scrolls lore goblin I must correct. The deadric princes don't live in the void, they are in oblivion. Oblivion and the void are two separate places. Sithis does not rule over the void, Sithis IS the void. Technically sithis does not have any direct power over deadra

I don't need a boat it's just going to make the game crappier I just need to focus on the fantasy elements and making the parks interesting. Make quests fun make fun things to find. Don't give me boring things to do that are filler content or crappy loot that's not interesting.

I really want to know what the switch to UE5 people are smoking if they think UE5 will fix Bethesdas awful writing, continuous removal of RPG nechanics, and lackluster gameplay loops. If anything you just get a normal Bethesda game with less mod support.
reply

It's hard to imagine this game is going to turn out good. Starfield is telling on it's own. Buggy mess needs to stop being a quirk of Bethesda, it shows they don't improve. DEI garbage runs rampant and I wouldn't expect ES6 to be safe from it.
