Sure Erik was great, but honestly Griffin has made Indymogul into something way better. Erik had the dream and made it real, but ever since Griffin came aboard, I have learned (and continue to learn) so much more than I ever did with Erik. The problem with BFX was that it focused solely on building props and such. But with Indy News, Friday 101, Moguler Made, etc, we not only learn about all sorts of areas of filmmaking, but we are given an outlet to share our work and the things we've learned.

is indy mogul and backyard effects really getting to its end point? or is this some sort of sick publicity stunt with you saying your shutting down indy mogul/backyard effects, and in reality just pretending to shut it down, and put it off for a while, thenrestart indy mogul/backyard effects for a giant re-opening or indy mogul/backyard effects? i hope its the second option

Holy shit people telling Erik to come back, he's moved on for the best. He was a great host and paved the way for Griffin and Russ and it was his time to leave. It's nice to see him pop in from time to time, but you can still watch him on indymachines or The Hub.

Yo Griffin, if you meet with Eric Beck again can you tell him that me and some friends are going to make a real life Minecraft you tube seires called Legendcraft and with kung fuuuuuuuuuu and ask him the kind of things we would need to make our show

Erik is a real dream lover, you really inspire us all, i would give you a long head kiss if i ever see you in this life. You must dream in peace knowing how many million people you helped follow his dreams. Love you Erik, in a human way. :)

Similar to the other comments, I just started my first year at NYU for film, and I can honestly say that my interest in cinematography (which I hope to make my degree's concentration) stemmed from making DIY stabilizers and dollies with BFX.

Yeah I just graduated film school at CSUN. I have a 7D and I'm currently interning at Mole Richardson. Also I'm an office PA for a feature. Thank you so much Indy Mogul for the inspiration. Just holler if you need an extra pair of hands.

I love Erik Beck when he's just being real like this. His hosting was always great but it always felt forced. It's when he's just talking and not performing that his passion really comes out and I love seeing him like that.

Although I didn't include this clip in the interview, Erik mentioned that the best part of BFX was knowing that he inspired people to start careers in filmmaking. Hearing comments like yours are the real value of Indy Mogul!

when Erik hosted BFX indymogul was actualy teaching young film makers howto make low buget short films and now they just let other people do that wile talking about stuf that nobody cares about

Today was my first day of film school. Erik played a large part in my decision to treat my filmmaking as a profession rather than a hobby. It's wonderful to see him doing so well, and how far he's come.

was it really 5 years ago that i started watching bfx and now im in my second year of film school? I can honestly say it was erik beck that inspired me to go into production design.
reply

Thank you for saying that and not being one of the hundreds of angry people who hate indymogul because Erik and BFX aren't around anymore. Move on and accept changes, people.
reply

I love what you've done with indy mogul griffin but I cant deny watching erik beck makes me miss the good old days when he basically taught me everything about film making.
reply

i would have to comment that BFX was indemogles origin then it was pulled from a dark place with alsome no videos by this new persoin griffin and made it spectaciler with new ideas
reply

Thank you Griffin! I had the honor of helping Erik with FSR and actually got to meet him in NEW York last year, so it's really great to see him again. Such a motivation!

i absolutely love indy mogul always have it has inspired me to build actual working things from the models of things i used to build that were just for looks: !

thats a dream shop right there. Now that erik has a car sitting in there, maybe he should throw up a greenscreen up and do a movie with driving in it.
