Like Super Mario Kart but not! Race go karts as a bunch of wild animals that turn into periscopes. This wheely is a wacky game Ikouy: There-s two really funny glitches you can do on the shareware version.
The info section of the game ran its own demo in the background. This will overwrite the save game, changing the level, character and speed (it-s always the slow speed. This will allow limited access to unplayable characters and silver track 2 with its own music (in review around the time of the handbrake. The computer will crash if you finish said track though.
The other glitch is in multiplayer. If both players are against an edge it-s possible to jam both karts together with sparks and traveling at 6kph. I don-t remember the specific kart, I believe it-s the player in front, but one of them can handbrake and exit the track. There-s not much you can do outside but driving so far will eventually come across a copy of the track that can be driven over but doesn-t react to the player.

Remember playing both this and Skunny Kart against my friends on my 386DX-40 and latter 486DX4-100. Skunny Kart had a horrible framerate, but in some cases was easier to navigate (yes, weird, I know). I absolutely loved the soundtracks in both games as well.
Ahhh, memories. nostalgia. I really need to figure out how to create a retro-gaming laptop out of my old IBM Thinkpad T43. If anyone knows how to create a bootable Windows 98SE USB Installation thingy, please contact me. The CD drive in the laptop is busted, everything else is perfect for Win98SE and MS-DOS 7. 1 (included and works great with most dos games.

Remember this game very well. We had this as a demo when I was a kid, and played it on a IBM 100 MHz computer I think. Even though some tracks and characters was blocked, we could get around this by waiting for the -screensaver auto races- ( I don't know what it's called. So for example, if the camel was racing, we exited the to the menu and then we could race as the camel. I felt like a true hacker, aged 7 - good game, and good review. Thank you Clint for reminding me of this. -

I never played Wacky Wheels but I did play Skunny Kart. It was absolutely terrible. At least, to me at the time. I played the shareware version on a CD sampler which was a pack-in with the CD-ROM drive I'd bought. It had a ton of shareware games on there. I got a lot of hours of fun out of that CD, but Skunny Kart was not part of it. No fun was had. I tried to play it SO many times, and just hated it.

I love Wacky Wheels! It became even cooler when I learned about the cheat code that enabled shooting ice instead of fire. Oh and Tigi and Ringo were my favorite characters. There aren't any differences between characters, but the panda was always the slowest for some reason. Wacky Wheels HD looks kinda pointless, I'd rather play the original, also the HD version has mostly negative reviews on Steam.

I remember playing this and Skunny Kart back in the day - like you, I was in the situation where my parents wouldn't buy an NES, SNES or other such consoles when we already had a PC that would play games. and go your taxes. Haha. That said, wow even watching gameplay for a few minutes here started giving me eye strain. How'd I play this for hours as a kid?

Man the death match mode was the best. My friend and I used to play hours of death match. We had a cheat code for maxed out hedge hogs or fireballs and infinite jumps and turbo boost. That made death matches crazy fun. Listening to bryan adams summer of 69 aerosmith, def leopard and playing death match, wow great times great game.

Super Mario Kart is still my favorite game in the whole series. If you can say you find the music more enjoyable in Wacky Wheels then I probably would not enjoy the game. For me, a kart racer should be so intense I do not even notice the music.
No Mario Kart game had a more intense battle mode than Super Mario Kart as well.

I clicked on this video just for the heck of it, and went from, -This game looks vaguely familiar, - to, -I totally recognize this and vaguely remember playing it as a kid! - very quickly. I really don't remember anything about it, but I think I may've purposely driven my kart into the water many times.

I have so many fond memories of this game, even if the only version I got to play was the Shareware one, which only let you choose the Pelican as a playable character.
Having found that there's an HD remaster on the works almost made me flip. Thanks for making my day.
