Famous Roles That Paid Actors Almost Nothing fanjoy: I have quite a different grasp of what almost nothing is. If you'd said any one of these people had made 100 for their contribution to a movie, then I'd be like, daaaamn. But, thousands of dollars is unreal good, if you have nothing, and doesn't matter for people who make millions for most anything else.

There are numerous instances where established actors work for scale because they believe in a film and realize it wouldn't get made otherwise. Robert Redford, Sean Penn, and Paul Newman, are examples of actors who routintely worked for scale after becoming megastars.

Why isn't the Aladdin Genie on this list that role paid him barely anything because Williams was told it was only going to be a small part but then they loved him so much they made it way bigger without increasing his pay

People, stop comparing acting with regular jobs. They got almost nothing in terms of standart paychecks in Hollywood, but that of course doesn't mean, that they are poor or that you should feel sorry for them. jeez.

What about Orlando Bloom and Billy Boyd in Lord of the rings? They didn't make ANY money since they weren't known back then. The only salary they got was living for free- both are, of course, grateful though.

As far as i know, in many countries well-known actors earn about that every year and are happy to be able to live from doing what they like. Every country has their own movies, series, it's not just hollywood.

Doesn't an actor get paid more by how irreplaceable they are? If so then the money these actors made makes sense considering they weren't big stars at the time with the exception of Jonah hill and bill murray

To be fair, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman spent 3 years of their life working on Eyes Wide Shut while Stanley Kubrick brutalized them on set and off set. Seriously, he was terrible to them.

Actors are overpaid as it is. I have more respect for the people who build the props and most of the time they're paid like ass compared to these overpaid brats. Screw Hollywood.

60 000 USD for less than six months of work where they pay for accomodation, food and transport isn't exactly little. I get that this is by A list standards but still.
