The Outrage Over Mulan Just Keeps Growing And Won't Stop

Outrage is brewing over Mulan's new release strategy, and it's coming from both movie theater executives and consumers alike. DaizyCutt3r: 29. 99 + DisneyPlus subscription?
I spend less than that for my family if we saw Mulan in the theater. 29. 99 does sound ridiculous, but you get unlimited access to Mulan. Did you know you can download Disney+ content onto your mobile device. If I can download Mulan to my device, after paying the fee, then it is truly unlimited and I don t have to spend 23. 99 for 4K Blu-ray later. IMO, with that said 29. 99 does not sound ridiculous at all.

I have mixed feelings. on one side. I guess the 30 extra cost and you keep it afterwards to watch it as many times after that might be ok. Their trying make money during these horrific times. HOWEVER. to take advantage of it. I wouldn't spend that much in a money in the first place and for Disney to try to get more money out of customers who already have their service - it's a little disrespectful especially during this time. I get they want to make money but 30 is ridiculously too high considering half the people are out of work or have cut hours. 5. 99 is doable in a budget but that much extra is a little steep. They should have made it 15- 19 for a one time fee maybe. However a greedy corporation who owns billions can afford to cut us some slack. They could have released it over seas to theaters who have less restrictions first. Also lower their price and care more about the customers /fans of their products. - because you would have gotten more profits by being less avaricious. Think more about the customers and their affordability and not your own wallets. They would have made more with a lower price

I think it s a fine compromise. Individual or couple theater-goers will be hesitant to buy. It s expensive and not black widow. Families, though, will rationalize it because it likely ends up cheaper!
The biggest problem here, is the decision to remake this movie at all. The original was excellent and, like the other classic Disney animated films, didn t need a remake. Add to this no mushu and none of the classic music! Ouch. That ll be a very hard sell for even the families.
I m concerned this experiment will dissuade Disney from trying this ever again, thinking this data is representative of a movie many actually want.

People need to quit making things overdramatic. Theaters will never be gone for good. Sure, a lot may close down because of COVID, but a year or two from now, when this is all behind us, movie theaters will be around again. People are over here crying about how movie theaters are becoming extinct! and im over here like, get your heads outa your ass.
Streaming will never top the movie theater experience, and even if they get less and less popular over the years, as long as there are a few people seeking a movie theater experience, there will be movie theaters to go to.

Don t blame Disney for taking advantage early, on how movies will now be released. The reality is that Covid19 has changed forever the way that things are done now. Actually it has sped it up. The truth is that going to the movies will eventually be a thing of the past. Just like working from home for most people will be the new norm, no need to go into an office. Online shopping will put stores out of business. Everybody resist change. This will put a lot of people out of work. Movie chains will close. So yes there are some people who have an issue with this.

Just a thought, I always believe in the mob rules (quote from gladiator film 2000) if the people world wide refuse to pay 29 dollars or 22 pound uk and refuse to see it until it been in the cinema. The large film companies will buckle to masses. However I live in uk before the lock down cinema price so very expensive I do think that the cinema need to reduce the price a lot to get people back to them 12 pound to see a film is way to expensive.

It wont be a one-off why pay distributors and cinemas 50% of the box office when you can stream it on you own service and keep 100% of the money, So a movie with a 200 million dollar budget would normally need to make 400-500 million before profit starts now a 200 million dollar movie would need to just make its 200 million back with maybe 5 million to cover streaming costs before profits start.

Well I'd like to say subscription services are a frenzy assholes trying to control ownership of purchased products like movies and shows and all of media will soon be controlled by the purchase of multiple subscription services, I wouldn't have this opinion if they would mail you a copy after an online purchase I paid for internet I paid for your subscription services now give me my hard copy!

I'll wait for it in cinemas. I'm sure they will show it in cinemas in the future. It's a win-win situation for them. Earning money now at a higher price from the fanatics and earning theater release in the future. There are those who still prefer the movie experience. Great strategy Disney!
Oops! On the other hand, they will be beaten by piracy!

I'm pissed off on the big fu from Disney to all the countries they have NOT made Disney + available yet - whole Easter Europe and Latin America are not scheduled until first half of 2021 and Asia and Pacific country launches throughout 2020 and 2021 - so they just give up and are not interested in money from 1/3 of the world at all.
