Im sorry who confirmed for all you people this was set in a different timeline? At no point was that ever said. Go ahead. prove me wrong. The director of rise of the beast very quickly walked back the reboot comment. He never said it was a different timeline.
Now do i think ultimately it will happen. yes they will remake the 2007 movie at some point essentially. However, until that happens. this is not a reboot.

But ROTB isn't a prequel, at this point it is a reboot. going off TLK Unicron is planet earth, so why if this is a prequel to the Michael Bay films, why is he suddenly not Earth itself? This itself is the BIGGEST retcon if this were a prequel. So with that aside, Megatron not being in the last two film cause he's still frozen on earth does not make sense in this continuity.

They should have used this movie as a full reboot and thrown out all the bayverse garbage. For one thing that s not Mirage, it s Jazz. It s such a simple thing to give the characters their proper vehicle forms but they messed it up yet again. And then wonder why these films don t do as well as they should. I won t even start with the arms turning into guns and swords/axes.

This is a reboot, it s been confirmed as well as in the bay verse we were told that bee existed on earth since world war 2 whereas in the bumblebee movie it s shown that the autobots first visit to earth was during the 80s hence we re gonna have a completely new storyline different from the bay verse frozen megatron that we ve got in the past

According to the opening scene of the bumblebee movie, bucket head is still on Cybertron seeing that soundwave and the other cons were in hot pursuit of Optimus who somehow managed to escape to earth along with wheeljack arcee mirage and bee. Sounds an awful lot like transformers prime. That's my take. I could be wrong.

as much as I know, this is a reboot. So they might actually throw megatron into the movies. It is probably limited to the fact that megatron DOESN'T KNOW where optimus is. Decepticons did fail to send a message to megatron from earth(in the bumblebee movie, that gives us a bit of an explanation.

Rise of the Beasts is a sequel to Bumblebee, which started a new timeline, it being a reboot.
These two movies are not connected to the Bayverse, and we can infer that from the fact that in Transformers 1, Autobots came to the Earth at that time, and not in the late 1980s.

I think it just lightly connected to the bay transformers dex they can probably still have him be in ice but awaken him earlier we re not just building it back up to the 2007 movie again and replay that in theatres after a unicorn trilogy has happened

I remember walking out the theater after BvS knowing DC backed themselves into a wall, it was way too soon. not explaining how or why the decepts aren't around and why Prime wants to go back not even explaining how he got here could be a issue

The best way to explain that these are not connected to the Bayverse. The 2007 movie shows Protoform Prime and the rest of the autobots scanning earth vehicles for their alt forms. That would explain everything.

Looper can't accept the fact that Bumblebee and ROTB are not in continuity with Bay films. I wish we got a post credit scene with Megatron cameo but instead we got a credit scene about a dead franchise.

No the films are not linked to the bayverse this has been said mutiple times, the reason megatron isnt in it is because he was over done in the bay films and they wanted some fresh villains

I still believe that this is a full reboot because it's already a major redcon with prime being on earth by 94 he didn't show up on earth until the first movie.

Director came out and said that Rise of the Beasts is a reboot. Totally new story, Bayverse is over and gone for good. Megatron should return in a new G 1 form.
