I cannot even tell you the level to which I identify with Monica. Her obsessive organisation with a tendency to being neurotic about things being a certain way, her relationship with her brother (the only real difference me being the older sister instead of the younger one, a hyper critical mother who cannot stop commenting about my hair, the way I dress or how I do things (although my relationship with my mom is much warmer and loving over all) and a father who tends to by taciturn. Also I am always the one cooking and baking for my friends, having them over for drinks or dinner. Just haven't figured out who is my Chandler yet: D

I loved Monica. She is exactly what I wanted to be as a grown up, even though I don't cook. I totally get her obsessive cleanliness and I usually wanted to kick Ross in the junk with how he sometimes treated her, though sometimes he was nice and helped her out, especially with how their parents treated her. I did kinda wish that she took a moment to tell both her parents on how shitty they were to her to make it clear that it was unacceptable and they should respect her as a high-functioning adult despite all the undermining of her self-esteem they did, hoping for a healthier relationship going forward.

Even though Phoebe is my favorite character, Monica was the real MVP! She was the glue that held everyone together. The most balanced character on the show. She overcame weight issue to become a premier chef, and always was the one that everyone deeply respected as a person, all except her parents though. She has her quirks; perfectionism, competitiveness, being very high strung, people pleasing, and alittle manic but she has a level of self awareness and a supportive and maternal nature that is unmatched! She goes to bat for her friends! Shes a real gem!

Monica is my girl lol! I never understood why all the guys loved Rachel so much. Maybe cause she was mean. But Monica really is a sweetheart. I would prefer to find a woman like her than Rachel or Phoebe. Despite her craziness of being clean she has good sentiments. Plus I really understand all the frustration she went thru trying to find her one true love. She's the whole package!

Whenever I'm making my bed with my floral blanket, I think back to her explaining why they need to be pointing to the headboard like! Yes. So right. I maybe wouldn't say 'that's where the sun is', just that it's the top of the bed which is 'up' and that's the direction flowers grow so making them point 'down' to the foot of the bed just seems incorrect to me =/

To be honest, Monica is one of my favorite characters in friends. She's cute and is not as eccentric as phoebe and is not as on and off again with a man like how Rachel is.
