Top 10 Times Troy Bolton Was the WORST

Top 10 Times Troy Bolton Was the WORST Honestly I feel like people give Troy too much of a hard time and instantly paint him as the villain.
This is the way that I personally see it.
Yes he made those mistakes and had his incredibly selfish moments but the thing is that he actually learned through those mistakes and became a much better person because of them.
Sharpay as much as I love her never learned through her mistakes and always went back to being her selfish self by the next movie all the way to Sharpays Fabulous Adventure where she finally gets a reality check and becomes a much better person as for Troy he made mistakes and he learned from them and became a much better person by the next movie while Troy grows throughout the films and not just the last final film.
Yes Troy was jealous of Ryan hanging out with Gabriella but give him credit he at least accepts Ryan by the end of the movie once he apologizes to everyone for being such a jerk. Who else doesnt feel a hint of jealousy or worry when they see their girlfriend or their crush hang out with another opposite gender and then comes to let it go later? Its natural.
Not to mention but while I do admit that Troy was all over Gabriella over Chad at times he winded up going to a college that he wanted to go too that just happened to be close to Gabriella now I know that he loves her and such but it was also a school that fit in what he wanted the most to both theater and basketball which the college that Chad was going too didnt have. Troy chose his career path and he just happened to get super lucky that it was awfully close to Gabriella and he grabbed that chance. I love how HSM3 shows that you cant always be with your best buddies in college for life goes a whole different direction and even though he winded up choosing one closest to Gabriella he still doesnt go to the same school as her either.
As for the popular privilege thing thats pretty unfair too. So is the video trying to say here that Troy should just sit around and do nothing and not accomplish anything? Troy worked hard to become a basketball player and happened to have an awesome singing voice that should be well recognized. Ms. Darbus didnt just pick him because he was Troy the popular basketball star she picked him because he had an amazing voice and Ms. Darbus actually admits that to Troys Dad later in the first film by saying that he had an amazing voice and she wouldnt let Troy play her Drama Club play into ruins. She also has a rivalry with Troys Dad so if she doesnt like Troys Dad why would she want his son on board her play? She chose Troy because of his awesome singing voice and not because he is a star of the basketball team and the school. Troy being very good at basketball and singing brings him all of those friends whom have that same thing in common with him so clearly that part of the video didnt make any kind of sense. I do admit though Sharpay did invite him at her country club because he is Troy Bolton and she has a major crush on him so that I can agree with but thats on Sharpay and not so much Troy himself.
Sharpay has a whole lot of potential with her extraordinary talents yes however shes the one whom sabotages her own chances of rising to the top not Troy yes he did use her to get the college scholarship and bails out on her yet the bailing out part also happened because he didnt want her to take the fullest advantage of him and have the show wind up happening because he doesnt have his fullest heart in it and he knows that she has to learn that she cant get everything that she wants but he at least is nicer to her by the end and tries to go back to her and perform alongside her but its more so Ryan and the rest of the Wildcat gang that winded up having that change to Troy and Gabriella sing together instead making Sharpay not have that chance. Yet despite that during the performance of Every Day when everyone is going up on stage to dance its Troy whom grabs Sharpays hand to come along and dance alongside them showing that he still wants to do the show with her even without the singing. He redeems himself with Sharpay in the end as well as his friends meaning that he learned through his mistakes.
Yet if Sharpay were extremely nicer and included in everybody in her shows and not purposely sabotage them to make them not be a part of the show in fear of them out staging her then she would have had her own performances up on stage and people would have loved to see her potential and talents not to mention but shes shown her performance of that Hawaiian song that she did with Ryan before (Hard to know how to spell it, lol) and has won the talent show plenty of times in the past yet Troy and Gabriella got to be the different winners well actually Ryan but still. Either way people have seen Sharpays talents so many times before and its Sharpays fault that she cant do her own performances at times because of the way she sabotages everyone in the movies. It has absolutely nothing to do with Troy or Gabriella for that matter.
So yeah this was long but people need to take a step back and see Troys jerk moments and mistakes as arcs that he has to go through to become a much better person for he learns through his mistakes and becomes a much better person because of them. Troy is no villain of the story all he is just a relatable average popular guy that we can all personally relate with because we go through the same exact troubles as he does and he helps us learn through them and to make the right kinds of decisions.
So please people stop painting him as the villain for at the end of the story Troy Bolton has a heart of gold. :)\r\n

Troy definitely plays himself by making terrible decisions that exacerbate drama rather than making things easier but it isn't all his fault. Despite the jock trying to make decisions that will satisfy everyone around him, his insecurities allow others to bend him to their will. And while you could argue that him doing so gives us most of the plot, I'm just saying everyone owes him a real apology for being such demanding asshles for three straight films.
If Troy had any real friends, they would have told him to get his butt into whatever costume Sharpay wanted him to wear and sing his heart out for that scholarship. It's clear Troy was being worked to the bone and trying to make his packed schedule work with his friends' demands. But the Wildcats only see that he isn't making the games he promised to play in, he's wearing new clothes they aren't used to him being in, and he's hanging out with someone they don't like (who is admittedly manipulating him. They'd rather dramatically accuse Troy of becoming someone else rather than understand where he's coming from. Sadly, Troy's friends are asshles who feel entitled to a person's time, attention, and prospects.
The guilt works, and Troy drops Sharpay like a hot potato to be with his friends instead. He finishes the film like he started, scholarship-less and saddled with a group of teens who refuse to let him do anything but stick to the status quo whoop-de-doo. Now, we head into the third movie, where a scholarship would have come in handy

Ok so some of these are just dead wrong. Whoever came up with the whole thing about Troy being late didnt watch the movie. He wasnt gonna audition at all and only spoke up because GABRIELA was too late for the individual auditions and he thought maybe it wouldnt be too late for the pair audition. He also never used Sharpay the way the video implies. SHE went out of her way to use her familys money and influence to pressure Troy into being close to her. She knew what she was doing and continued to do so even in scenes where he was obviously uncomfortable. Whether he stayed is something else but she was no innocent in that situation. He also may have bailed on her in the second movie at first but changed his mind and was set on singing with her as long as the other wildcats got their chance too. Also, she bailed on Ryan in this movie too so if Troy had stayed away it would have been what she deserved in that movie. That said, I didnt agree with him bailing in the third movie.

I hate when people claim that Sharpay is innocent and troy is the real villain. I will admit that some of the things on this list were bad, but most of them weren't Troy's fault. Espically the #1 that was on this list. He did not use Sharpay, Sharpay was using him. She was trying to give him everything he would ever want for his future so he would like her. Let's not forget the reason she likes Troy in the first place. She knows he is popular and that them dating will only make her more popular. However she doesn't have real feelings for him. If she did then why would she have a thing with Zeke? At the end when he bails on her, he is owning up for his actions and staying with his friends to be a waiter. Most of the other incidents were because of his friends being mad that he would have a future without them. Like, I'm sorry he cares about his future! Friends split up after high school that's just how it works.

Tbh Im glad he wasnt the perfect guy protagonist, the character that is always right, everyone should listen to him bc he knows it all
I really can see myself through the identity crisis, the last year of middle school I was so lost that I started to hate myself bc of the person I was becoming. I didnt know how to fit in, the friends I thought I had werent real friends, people always treated me like a nerd so I tried to be cool, talk like teenagers, use bad words since they say Im way too polite and talking like a grandma
I thought I could blend in if I was behaving like other kids. But inside, I absolutely hated myself for talking and acting that way. So entering high school I just told myself to stay the way I am and if no one wanted to become my friends than it doesnt matter, after all we have phones lol

OK, we can discuss about Troy's loyalty fail in High School Musical 2 and some weird decisions he made.
But according to Sharpay I disagree with you in every point.
Sharpay may be a good performer and singer but her personality is the biggest peace of dogshit in the whole movie. She is intriguing, arrogant, bullying everyone who's not playing by her rules and her actions just lead to the ruin of Troy's relationship with Gabriella.
Yes, Troy made mistakes but there are nearly no reasons for Sharpay-justice

When Troy finally decided on a college in the final film, he didn't even think to tell the most important people in his life and let them process it, especially Chad who he knew would be upset about his decision. He told them at the same time as he told everyone in the public, even though it concerned probably no one in that audience other than his parents, and most of them likely did not give a toss anyway. It's no wonder Chad disappeared from the stage, he had no time to process it when he needed it the most

I see people talking about why Sharpay is the best and worst and Troy being the worst.
The characters I feel the worst for (and are my top 2 fave characters) are Ryan and Kelsi. To me, they did absolutely no wrong at all. Especially Kelsi who was trying to get Troy and Gabriella together. And maybe Ryan deserted his sister in the second. But look how she treated him in all three movies. He just wanted attention from his twin. Is that too much to ask for?

Gabriella hurt sharpay in. Front of Tory thats why she said but you better step away from the mirror or long enough to check the damage that will always be right behind you in front of Troy. Thats not okay because she hurt sharpay feelings and said blowing off your friends and missing dates in front of Tory that hurt troy to. Thats not okay because when you hurt both popular people feelings its rude to say that in both of them as well.

Am I the only one that felt bad for Troy in the 2nd movie? Honestly he wasn't that mean to his friends, they just weren't his number 1 priority for a time period, and they couldn't handle that. The real worst characters in the movies were Chad and Taylor. They both constantly trivialized Troy and Gabriella's relationship, and went behind their back all the time to change plans, but judged Troy and Gab for making any changes. Smh

I have gained new perspective. Tbf troy bailed on sharpay because of the realisation of him treating his friends badly. And at least one of the dates he couldn't particularly help it. Faulton practically made him watch sharpay sing that song (idk the one with a long name. Some stuff couldn't be helped. But overall I agree. He did some bad things and learnt to fix them the hard way

I was just watching hsm2 yesterday and I was thinking about like if I had a chance to get a scholarship doing what I love and if it was handed to my the way it was to him I wouldnt have rejected it either. I wouldve love that the ones I call my friends are supporting me and not trying to make me feel guilty for going after my future. Thats what friends are for
reply

He wasnt really a bad character he just has a lot to learn like us.
We all did at least one thing similar to what he did and besides troy
learned from his mistakes. The only thing we never liked about troy
is that he wasnt in some of the reunions but with reasons of course
so no need to blame Zac

reply

Don't hate me for this but I feel like it was partly Chad's fault why troy was quite distant from him. Hear me out, if Chad wasn't so against Troy singing and wasn't trying to dictate his future then I reckon Troy would've wanted more to do with him - just my opinion and you don't have to agree
reply

i think its good that he isnt perfect, it makes him more human and a more well-rounded, interesting character. itd be boring af if he was always making the right decisions. more realistic this way, and thats why i still loved him. the whole point was to teach the young viewers lessons.
reply

Ok so Troy made mistakes and caused alot of problems and bumps but we make those bumps and mistakes and learn from them and that's an important part of life not 1 PERSON on earth is perfect.
Mistakes are what make you human.

Hsm franchise has been going on since 2006- present. Because of HSMTMTS which has been going on since 2019 if I am right. Just sayin. Also Ryan is gay and Troy shouldn't be jealous. If anyone should be jealous, it should be Sharpay for being ignored. Such an icon.
reply

All of the things Troy did he always redeemed himself and turned out to be the good one. He never really meant the things he did he just felt confused and he always had people trying to make him do things without them thinking about what Troy wanted to do.

As many times as I've seen HSM trilogy, it's funny how I never noticed it until seeing this list that in the scene with Troy talking to the team about singing meaning nothing to him that in the video scenes, they misspelled receiving as recieving ROFL
reply

I definitely don't like him, it's like the movies are saying that the reason the protagonist even succeeds is that he's popular, has a romantic relationship, and has everything handed to him, plus, he's irresponsible, and never keeps his promises.

Honestly, Troy was at his worst in High School Musical 2, which is why it's actually my least favourite one. My High School Musical rankings are:
1: High School Musical 3: Senior Year
2: High School Musical
3: High School Musical 2

I think Troy is nice but he lets himself be influenced. in the first movie, his friends persuaded him to play basketball instead of singing. in the second movie he was influenced by Sharpay and in the third movie he was sad about Gabriella.
reply

Im sorry msmojo, but Troy doesnt deserve to be in the worst list, hes a great guy. In my opinion, its chad or Taylor that deserves to be on the list because they were both horrible friends to Troy and Gabriella.
reply

I never realized how dumb it was when Troy got jealous of Ryan and Gabriella, like they're right when they say that he got mad when Gabriella became friends with any other male specimen that wasn't him
reply

Sharpay was very nice to Troy to have money for his college and the scholarship, but troy appended that to have his friends back. Do you want money for college or to have your friends back?
reply

I like how there is like nothing from high school musical 3 because there relationship was perfect and the third movie was just perfect. Personally my favorite one. Has the best songs.
reply

I think Gabriella is not a villain but her friendship with Ryan is underrated. She deserved to be with Ryan.
Lesson: Tiara is the actual villain, not Gabriella nor Troy
