Not the uncomfortable corset narrative again, please (8: 59. It isn't the most pressing of matters, but still, annoys me. A corset is only uncomfortable when isn't cut properly, it's supposed to fit the body, not the other way around, and that's why it must be tailor-made. A corset can't be taken off a rack, or worn without the proper garments, or shaped poorly for aesthetic reasons, of course it'll hurt otherwise. Unfortunately that's exactly what they do for most TV and film productions, but that's hardly the corset's fault.

I think Matts gender had nothing to do with his being paid more. He was paid more because hes popular and would draw in views. Everyone knows Doctor Who, hes an accredited actor and led a successful series for 2 seasons. Many people ( especially us here in America) had to be introduced to who Clair Foy was. To think that its offensive that he was paid slightly more is wild. Imagine paying a new teacher the same price as one whos been teacher for years. Like any career, you work your way up when it comes to pay.

I am a little disappointed that Ms. Mojo misrepresented a gender pay gap when thats not how acting works. Matt Smith is more popular, and had the ability to ask for more money. Claire Foye just wasn't experienced or popular enough to demand the same in the beginning. They only folded after people started the whole gender pay gap argument, which can be easily proven false with basic research.
Don't spread false narratives, it hurts women more than it helps.

I think all the actors in the crown are tryimg their best to respectfully try to protray them as best they can. We need to remember they do not write the script. Some events are real but some are fictional like the Queen meeting her PM at the time. Love every series but I know not everything is factual but I understand why the Royal family are worried the series can effect how people feel about them

You forgot the following
- Accurate reenactment of King George VI's lung surgery
- Claire's costume adjustment (she is flat chested in real life, unlike her character who was a busty woman in her younger years and Claire needs to padded up)
- Princess Margaret's Imelda Marcos line

A bit more behind the scenes trivia: the gold ball that was in the coronet that was placed on the Prince of Wales' head at his investiture was actually a gold painted ping pong ball. In the centre of the arch is a monde (which is actually a gold-plated ping-pong ball. credit to wikipedia

I should have guessed that Diana and her pals celebrating her Royal engagement was improvised, since they all looked liked they were having a ball, and their joy seemed natural. Also, singing the British National Anthem was the cherry on top of the cake!

Wait. I thought it was common practice for Hollywood to pay the more experienced/popular actor more money than the newbie actor, regardless of screen time differences. In Superman 1 (1979, Marlon Brando got a lot more money versus Christopher Reeve.

Maybe paying Claire less than Matt was also a bit deliberate, given its meant to be quite a strained and resentful relationship. It's kinda thing I'd do, get a bit of real life emotion into the on screen. And save a few quid.

Oh come on, how crazy does that make Helen B Carter sound, saying that Princes Margret show up as a spirit giving Helen her blessing. Does she really think that is what is going on in the after life.

Personally I found the actor who played Antony Armstrong Jones dull in the so called steamy scenes. He didn't seem to have any chemistry with his female co-stars.

It's so heartwarming for the show to offer counselling to real life Aberfan disasters. It shows that understanding of mental health issues has come a long way since 1966.

It is unfair she was paid less: the star is THE QUEEN and she also has more screen. The rest is simply nonesense people say in order to justify the unacceptable.

Intimate scenes is something no one would want to see in this. Even if it made us believe that's where it was going. Same as a scene with the Queen and Philip

Matt Smith saying Claire Foy should've been paid the most having done nothing with his star power to get that corrected during their run is peak WM.

I really wish people would stop making negative comments about corsets. As long as they fit they are incredibly comfortable. Just like a bra

Godsave the queen is not the British national anthem. It is the national anthem for England. We each have our own national anthems.
