I saw the movie today. and without a doubt, he was good. I can see how he was recognized for his work on this. However (just throwing this out there, his excellence was in great part from the brilliance of those around him; incredible film. Not completely (for we/audience certainly are encouraged to be empathetic, but there were audience members that found parts comical that I did not find so. I come from a history of obesity, and when others found parts funny, it reminded me of what the life is like. His comment about how obesity is still a legitimate discrimination and very misunderstood illness is definitely something to be brought to social awareness. It was brilliant and the movie was very nuanced and layered; I do have to say that I think Austin Butler was a superior actor. in part because he carried his movie and Fraser was well-supported. If he gets the Oscar, it will be well-earned; if Butler gets the Oscar, it will be well-deserved.

I loved him in Encino Man, Bedazzled and of course George of The Jungle! Seriously though, I think he has been overlooked as a serious actor for some time. We know he is a great comedic actor and action star, but they usually do not award Oscar's to these two categories. That he can make us laugh, thrill us and bring us to tears, shows his range of acting, he is in that very small class of actor's who can accomplish it all.

The entertainment industry turned his back on him and abused him, the judge took advantage of his innocence and made him pay $900k a year in alimony to his terrible blood sucking ex wife. I hope and wish he has a great comeback, he absolutely deserves it. I miss seeing him on screen doing what he loves.

I hate that they call this a come back because that almost implies that he had a choice or role in his departure. This poor man was abused by the powers of Hollywood and the pains of life. I would like to view his resurgence as his triumphant return.

I could see Brendan loosing some weight, with a little muscle in the arms. He plays a gangster! Some one liners here and there. Playing with some other cool actors. Oh Yeah that would be another great movie to see after The Whale!

I did see it, while my wife did not like it, i did. it was a mixed bag on her side, but I saw some many things she or the other critics didn't.
Overall I liked it and would recommend it as a deeply emotional and complex creation.

How in the world can anyone carry an extra 300lbs without a gradual increase. I wouldnt think the heart could take it. i bearly can carry 42 lbs of kitty litter up the stairs, i do one stair at a time. Totally amazing

I still think hes at his best in Bedazzled because he had to play so many different characters in different settings while keeping it straight being next to the impossibly gorgeous Elizabeth Hurley.

I want to watch it because of Brendan Fraser but given the subject matter and having it being a Darren Aronofsky film, I really dont want to watch it! Im still recovering from Requiem for a Dream!

That looked like a very uncomfortable interview. Brendan Fraser probably did something that he didn't want to do in order to get this role. That director is giving off a very gay energy.

I watched it last Saturday, and I just LOVED it. This story is very sensitive and emotional. And if he doesn't get the Oscar for best actor, I will never watch The Oscar again!

Brandon and other celebrities are not going to gain that kind of weight for a movie you see at the Oscars he lost weight in real life he looked handsome up on that stage

I love Brendan. He has always been a favorite. I saw The Whale movie and he was great. Brendan has such a sweet, gentle, kind spirit and that makes him so loveable: )
reply

Wow, he clearly is bald and tried the whole hair transplant thing. That's crazy so glad I didn't fall into that trap, if you're bald, own it and love it since its you.

I just watched the trailer and I cried. Just because of the trailer. I haven't seen the movie but I am sure it's amazing, and I will need tissues.

Glad to hear Brandon Frazier will be getting an Oscar. Loved his movies in the 90s and early 2000. Happy that hell be taking the Oscar home.
reply

The woke mob will never be pleased. They will even find every reason to hate a woke movie. Lol. To hell with the woke mob.
reply

I was absolutely absorbed by Brendans performance. His portrayal of Charlie was completely believable and endearing.
reply

Fraser is another fine example of how an acter must be when in a role that is about someone else not themselves.
reply

So if there is a movie about a ghost should we look for a real ghost to play the role? Ppl are pathetic.
