Nell Benjamin, who wrote the lyrics for Mean Girls, and Legally Blonde, is an absolutely brilliant lyricist and it's a crime that she has only had those two shows on Broadway so far. I'll take the lyrics of any given number from either of those shows over the entirety of Hamilton any day of the week (and twice on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Yeah, I said it. Fight me.

My high school did Sister Act. I was in charge of the music. Everytime it was on a song, I was just dancing up in the crows nest above the sound booth in the back. Spread the love was the cast and crews fav and we sang it everytime before the show to get ready. SA is an underrated musical. When I find my baby is incredibly dark but with great music

I like the selection but I wonder why most of the songs -with very few exceptions- are from shows of the last 30-something years. There are so many upbeat songs in older shows. 'I Want to Live in America' (West Side Story, 'Put On Your Sunday Clothes' (Hello Dolly, 'Oh What a Beautiful Morning' (Oklahoma, to mention just few.

You can't Stop The Beat leaves no room for any dead air. The sheer amount of energy, pitch-perfect vocals, and air in your lungs needed to pullthis intense number off is unreal. There's a reason performers have called it You Can't Stop To Breathe. But that's just part of what makes it pump one up so much.

Since jukebox musicals are included, I'd like to add a few more honourable mentions:
Beat It - MJ the Musical
Can't Stop the Feeling - & Juliet
The Whole 'Being Dead' Thing - Beetlejuice
Stick It to the Man - School of Rock
Put Your Mind to It - Back to the Future the Musical (soon on Broadway)

1st song I thought of when I saw the name of the list was Welcome to the 60s (NOT You Can't Stop the Beat, which you guys overuse imo. You should have gone my route. Disappointed. Also overused is Seize the Day. Great song but I want to see King of NY one of these days and this was a missed opportunity.

Overall I think it's a good list, others that I would have put in:
Bring it On from Bring it On: The Musical
Stick it to the Man From School of Rock
It's my life from & Juliet
Be more Chill Parts 1 and 2 from Be more Chill
Honestly Sincere From Bye Bye Birdie

Raise Your Voice, Some Like It Hot's title number, Welcome to the 60s, the Mambo portion of Dance at the Gym, and N. Y. C were all excluded here. Every number I've listed should be on this list in my opinion, at the very least as an honourable mention.

No one can sing 9 to 5. Only dolly, reba, and kelly. Because i said so. 5 to 9 on the other hand, whatever. Beyond disappointed about fiddler on the roofs and Hamilton's positions and that Aladdin got only an honorable mention

There's one that always works for me and gets me motivated when I need it, but it's a rather odd choice. The Overture from The Phantom of the Opera. Those first chords on the organ just grab me and energize me.

Awesome list here. A lot of classics and new songs that I got introduced to on this list. Personally my favorites: You Cant Stop the Beat, Sincerely Me and Seize the Day. Big time repeated play on my iPod.

You Cant Stop The Beat is very deserving of the top spot! Its such a fun, happy, inspiring song! I love how all of the characters get their own time to shine during the song!

What do you mean by get you pumped? Want to dance? Tap your toes? Make you feel happy? Inspire you? Sing along with? Some of these make me feel like dancing, but not most of them.

No lies detected on this list. But there are more than enough filmed versions of Les Miz that you dont have to remind us of the curse of Tom Hooper.

Many of my faves were on this list. Another of my favorite pump up songs is Cross the Line from Bring It On (a criminally underrated show.
