Live from New York, it's Sat. hehe. For this list, well be looking at the most notable segments from the golden age of Saturday Night Live, aka that aired in or before 2005, that were so hilarious, some or all of the cast involved in them couldnt help but laugh. Our countdown includes sketches The Leather Man, Short Shorts for the USA, Extremely Stupid and more! Which classic SNL sketch would be hardest for you to sit through without laughing?

Debbie Down in Disney World wins hands down for me. All the specific details they wrote for Dratch, and the spot on job she did makes it even more impressive that it killed that much while also being the tougher skit to pull off. And the cast were laughing way harder in that skit than the others. Nobody is crying in either of them. The cowbell thing was fine, but it got wwaayyyy played out and hasn't aged well. Same w/ Farley at the end. It's just low-hanging fruit in those sketches.

Going thru this list, you can tell that most of the gals at MsMojo aren't older than about 25, tops. Someone also has a real hard-on for Fallon. Guy wouldn't even crack my all-time Top 25 list of funniest SNL comedians. Moving forward, you girls might try watching the cream of the crop from. I dunno. the 70s, 80s or 90s?

Sorry, you missed the funniest sketch of all time. Eddie Murphy in a take off of a classic Lincoln Continental where a Jewish diamond cutter cuts an expensive diamond while being driven over railroad tracks. Only Eddie is a Jewish Mohel performing a circumcision on a baby while going over railroad tracks.

My wife and I had a standing joke that if our children ever complained about anything, be it curfew, the meal, their clothes, whatever, we would always say Be thankful that you don't live in a van down by the river! It would totally go over their heads, but we both would bust out laughing. Long live SNL!

Those were the days! I've been watching for many decades. I try to watch SNL now in hopes that it will be funny. There is a rare skit that's funny, or an actor that can carry the show. But, I've stopped watching for the most part.

who can watch this video? . it's soooo painful to add commentary to a comedic sketch; it ruins the actual clips, which I way I clicked on the video. (and as I'm leaving after a minute felt the need to leave a comment)

Classic SNL is 1975-2005? Notable that 8 out 10 of these are from the 2000's and that half involve Jimmy Fallon. Back in the day a break was a pretty rare thing because the cast was just a bit more professional.

My husband came out in his motorcycle leathers the other day and I DIED laughing! I had never noticed how squeaky they were before! I reminded him of that sketch. he laughed as we both loved that bit so much!

Fallon's endless BS laughter on his talk show is all the evidence that anyone should need that Tracy Morgan was right when he talked about Fallon breaking deliberately on SNL for cheap laughs.
reply

Fallon breaking during the Cowbell skit doesn't make it better. It's Fallon being Fallon, ruining part of an otherwise great moment of TV history. Comedy usually isn't about giggling.
reply

Am I the only one who can't stand all the talking and set-up by the presenter? JFC! SHUT UP already and just play the skits. I don't need you to break it down and explain what's funny.

Would love to see the SNL skit when Horatio played Ozzie in the recording studio, food orders being taken and no one can understand Ozzie. he end's up singing his order. Hilarious!
reply

I understand that you need a certain amount of commentary to monetize a video of clips you dont own but my god, this was an utter fail. Talk less and lengthen the clips next time.
reply

The Golden Age. i. e when it was still funny? Maybe one day when comedy, parody and satire is unencumbered by woke ideology, SNL will once again become a shining beacon of comedy.
reply

I love Walken but this was his second best sketch. His best was when he played a jerry springer type talk show host and was insulting people by calling them half-fag.
reply

The funniest skit i ever saw was Joe Piscapo and Don Rickles with the slaps. the fun kept going into different skits throughout the entire episode.
reply

More skit, less narration, please. I don; t know if they broke while dancing, but can you find Gap Fat? Funniest ever but it is no longer PC.
reply

Dam, if Jimmy Fallon could be on SNL then I would've had a good chance being a cast member.
I really dont think Fallon is funny, Really!

reply

I thought you were supposed to be showing FUNNY scenes in SNL. But I guess once you've gone past the early 1980's there's little to find.
reply

Not ready for prime time players. They were the funniest after the show changed. I stopped watching because it just wasnt funny.
reply

it would have been very good video if the lady could shut her hole up for few seconds and let the content talk for itself.
reply

Thank god for that narration telling us what's going on in the skit instead of that pesky audio from the actual skit.
reply

Rest in peace Gilda Radner, Chris Farley, and Brittany Murphy. Overlook condolences to the families for your loss.
reply

This would be much funnier if she wouldn't talk through the entire clip. Just set it up and get out of the way
reply

Gee. Imagine if you could SHUT THE FK UP for 2 seconds so we could actually watch the skits!
