I was relieved when you got to the second half of the list because fir a minute there I was worried you hadn't heard anything pre-nineties. But you proved me wrong and I'm relieved. And while I don't share your opinion every time, you obviously have way more respect for miley's level of talent than i do, I do like most of the songs on your list. But though I like most of them, and though I find myself singing along to most of them I don't consider most of them the ultimate belting songs. Like - I want it that way - I grew up in the 90s what can I say I find myself singing along- though it's usually like hugh Jackman I'm not going to dance routine- blame it on growing up then - but I dont feel compelled to belt it out like some other songs. And others like I will always love you - whitney belts it and blows you away and when I'm having delusions of grandure I sing along but again it's not what comes to mind when I think of songs that demand to be belted out. Cant fault your taste with bohemian rhapsody - its genius but its a deceptive type of belting - it requires power but control too, if you try to belt it with reckless abandon you butcher it. How about summer of 69? I guess ultimately it comes down to the individual taste - and what that piece of music does for you. Like I said I like most of the pieces you listed i just don't think of them as the belting them out type in most cases.

I agree that Whitney Houston should have received the top spot I also think the song hold on I Wilson Phillips deserves to be on this list. The song is over 30 years old but the lboth young and along every time it's played. The other day I was at target snickering at the groomer dear dear when it came on overhead. Every other person walking by was singing along. Since this is a college town many of the people weren't even born in 1990.

Before this countdown started, I knew Whitney would be #1, as it is on just about every countdown. And while her vocals absolutely deserve all the recognition & accolades it deserves, no one ever credits the person who rearranged this song. How well would this song have been accepted had she sang it the way Dolly did. Give credit to David Foster, a literal musical genius. Without him, this song would have flopped.

for everyone that thinks Miley was completely original riding on the wrecking ball boomkat's video for the reckoning (11 years before wrecking ball) the lead singer is riding on a wrecking ball, Im sure there maybe other bands that did it earlier than Boomkat but Miley was definitely not the first to do this.

I can't help but belt out the bridges of most Taylor Swift songs, I just can't, especially Illicit affairs and Dear John. Also Mariah Carey 'Without you', it was my favourite when I was a kid, I would sing it all the time despite the fact that I didn't speak english yet, so I was singing mostly gibberish

I knew they wouldn't be on this list, but two I really belt out are Violet by Hole and Blow Up the Outside World by Soundgarden. I didn't think of it initially, but the honorable mentions reminded me I do belt out You Oughta Know. Other than that, my favorite is Chandelier.
reply

I can't help myself belting out anything from Bon Jovi, Alanis Morrsett, and anything from Miley, I love Wrecking Ball, The Climb, and, Flowers
Unfortunately she's not on the list but, Anything by Kelly Clarkson, and Reba

My sister and my daughter and I have on several occasions, while on the road belted out Man, I Feel Like a Woman. None of us are really Shania Twain fans and none of us can really sing but that doesn't stop us.

my belters I turn to you christina aguilera oops I did it again britney spears any disney song but my heart will go on celine dion the climb early miley definitely not wrecking ball she turned me right off

I don't feel like I want it that way is very belty, especially in comparison to the other songs here
And also, if we're picking from Adele, rolling in the deep is a better choice
Great video though!

This may be your best list ever!
I sound absolutely horrible on Listen, but I belt anyway. My neighbours hate me.
Gotta love how Bohemian Rhapsody will have us all sounding like schitzophrenics.

reply

Absolutely a beautiful tribute to all the singers in this video.
My two favorites are: .
I want it that away. Backstreet Boys.
I will always love you. The Diva Miss Whitney Houston.

reply

I want it that way reminds me of good times in high school. I will always love you is just a classic. Whitney Houston has one of the best voices. I just love Beyonce so listen is also great.
reply

Im incredibly confused by this list. Some, sure, I absolutely get. But have yall never been to a concert? Ever? Dont Stop Believin is not only belted out, but its belted out by everyone.
reply

For me nothing comes close to dancing queen. When ABBA sings it it sounds like 2 angels in harmony. It's a beautiful song about being carefree and no commitments a staple of being young.
reply

It is impossible for me not to belt ot the chorus of I Want It That Way, Total Eclipse Of The Heart, and I Will Always Love You at the top of my lungs. They're all amazing.
reply

Woah woah woah. Whitney is one of the most legendary vocalists of all time? Sorry she is THEE Most legendary vocalists of all time. Makes Beyonce sound like weird Al.
reply

I am not a fan of Bohemian Rhapsody at all. Mostly because it was played so much as a kid that I grew to dislike it a lot. But the rest of the list I agree with.
reply

Sweet Caroline and Life Is A Highway both are driving anthems for me. And anything by Bon Jovi. I'm 55 and basically belt out any song from the 80's and prior.
reply

Got quite alot more, not all in English to boot as well.
My favourite song of all time (Sweet Dreams by La Bouche) I can't help but sing it. :p

reply

#1 reminds me of being a 10 year old when the movie came out and singing the chorus at the top of my lungs every time I heard that song
reply

I am one of the many people who unashamedly continually belt out Wrecking Ball Skyscraper and Bring Me To Life at every opportunity I get.
reply

I thought Dream On by Aerosmith would have made at least honorable mention. I mean, no one screams in key like Steven Tyler. :)
reply

Tears of fears Everybody watns to rule the world
havn't Miley Cyrus ended more and less as a one hit wonder like her father?

reply
